  2. sorry the amp is 4 channel
  3. uncle george i never new there was white carbon either. until a few weeks ago. I was reading in a mag and i saw a 350z with white carbon all over it. They said white carbon was the new thing at this years SEMA (basically americas autosalon). I'll try and google up some pix. I'll try and find the mag as well.
  4. 1st item: Rockford fosgate punch 301x amp. used for less than a year but over a year old. my headunit was stolen i was keeping it for when i put another one in but i am used to no stereo and i won't be getting a headunit again for ages so i decided to sell this. It comes with 2 sets of rca's as well as power and earth cable and fuse. There is also a certificate from rockford fosgate stating the power. price with wiring etc is 220. 2nd item: GTR wing for r33 gtst. it is not a genuine wing fibreglass copy. Came with the car, no brake light. in the future i am might be looking at getting either a full flat boot or just a stealth wing. I'm not desparate to sell it but if i get $200 for it i'll let it go. i am in frankston and go to uni at clayton, i would prefer meet up or pick up. I won't send the wing but i would consider sending the amp i guess. Pictures of rca's and cables will come later. Pictures were taken on my fone.
  5. another good example of carbon not being the best is in turbo jet fans. Rolls royce in the 70's made very successful turbines using cf as the blades. This was until a rock got in there, shattered everything to a million pieces. Rolls royce engineeres just put more and more money into the project eventually driving them broke. with r33 boots this would be very popular as the standard one doesn't match up with the quarter panels. I think people would prefer a fibreglass skeleton and underlayer and just a cf top skin. Most of us won't be able to afford 100% cf but the end result should still be lighter than an oem item. Here is an example of an r33 flat boot made in japan. The white one is frp, the black cf. the cf one is a better design in my opinion (its squarer). Are you able to source white carbon? I would be interested in white carbon as its rarer and plus my car is white. ps. i would be interested in just normal fibreglass bodykits.
  6. umm jimbo using the std plenum and making it forward facing will no doubt make you lose power as the flow is crap. the standard plenum is not designed to be forward facing. spend the money on something worthwhile.
  7. no. it gets hot from the heat soak. ie from the engine heat. Yes this will heat up the air inside it. But very very minimally, since the air inside the piping is moving very fast, the heat from the pipes would not have enough time to heat the air inside. basically the colder the air the better. as colder air is denser ie. same volume but more oxygen. more oxygen the better for the combustion process.
  8. the cooler can only take out so much heat energy from the charged air. the colder the air is to start with the better.
  9. r33 flat boots. u will sell heaps. even if top quality fibreglass. I'd be interested for sure. air boxes to hold pods. doors. definetely tail light covers.
  10. gday shan, my money is also in. $127.7. Also pm sent.
  11. the above picture is uras' car. U can buy the fenders from yahoo auctions. but that uses a genuine r34 gtr front bar and headlights. u will need a new radiator support bar and reinforcement. IT uses a genuine r34 gtr bonnet as well. don't quote me on all of this but all in all it will b expensive.
  12. this is the first time i've heard of some thing bad about topstage. he is very respected on www.nissansilvia.com , its such a shame best of luck.
  13. mine goes in saturday. I'll be doing it with a few friends and my girlfriend, unfortunately i couldn't get my hands on a digi cam so no pix. Ofcourse greddy one would be easier to fit, it retains all the stock piping in the engine bay.
  14. i doubt it will fit r33 gtst's they are side feed, these are top feed.
  15. in the philippines there is still a lot of service stations that are not self serve, that have the dudes that fill up for ya. And i can't count the number of times the attendants smoke while filling up the tank. i always wait for the turbo timer to turn off the vehicle. I usually go when its not busy and when the car hasn't been boosting or been driven for a long time, so that the timer isn't on for very long.
  16. greddy emanage is not a full ecu it is a piggy back. Do a search mate this has been done to death.
  17. hey mate, i have purchased apexi gt spec piping for my r33 gtst. A friend has the same piping and he said it fits up well with the copy hybrids. I've bought a copy hybrid off a guy on these forums, rmahnovetsky (spelling) it should be here on tuesday. The reason i didn't get a kit was for basically 2 reasons: a) a lot use the standard returns, (as above) i didn't want this (personal pref) B) the ones that go over the radiator, most of them require the fan blade to be shaved at the ends. This was a definate no no for me. the apex pipes do go over the radiator but coz there apex and are fully sik jap brand they don't need the fan shaved at all. also the good thing about the apex pipes is that they also include the turbo hot pipe, where most kits use the standard pipe off the turbo 90 elbow thingy. all up it has cost so far: piping 396.1 (2nd hand off ebay) cooler 290 (forums) and i will need 2*3inch hose and 4 clamps for the hose, and brakets etc. say 100 bux, which it shouldn't b but round it up. so it cost around abouts 800, i will do the labour myself with the help of my girlfriend I could have gone to an exhaust shop and got it done for cheap, but most of them will want to do it in mild steel, which they think is fine but i'm not so sure. I got quoted 420 to copy my piping in mild steel or 365 for 5 kits of em. I was thinking of starting a GB, coz its better qual piping than most crap out there. But thought i don't think ppl would b interested coz its mild steel. And what if the place stuff's it up a little, i have to pay them for what they do, but i'd have to pay back the people of the GB since they didn't get what they paid for. Catch 22. i will write a diy with heaps of pix when i actually do it. So keep a look out in the next few weeks in the diy section. Cheers.
  18. you may get away without injectors with FPR and fuel pump. if you are only aiming at 220 rwkw.
  19. hi flow the stocker i say. best response, cop and epa friendly. 100% bolt on. All the aforementioned turbos may bolt on to the manifold but most will require oil/water fittings. If its a stocker high flow, u can get any mechanic to do it or do it urself. Ie u don't have to take it to a "specialist" workshop that would charge thru the roof.
  20. i may do what u have said skyline geoff. I have been thinking about this option. but the problem is that my piping is 2 and 3/4 inch approx, about 70 mm. It is apexi piping and has beaded ends. So I would have to do it with 2.75 inch hoses, which is also hard to find and the wall thickness would have to be less than about 3 mm coz then it will be over 3 inch and the 3 inch hose will b hard to get over it. Do u think i could get away with just using a 3 inch straight? since the difference around the circumference is only 3 mm, but i dont think i can, too much area for boost leak. I will try autobarn epping, i tried an autobarn near my area and only 3 inch to 2.5 inch, maybe they are different. treo i will try pirtek bayswater. I tried pirtek springvale but they did not have it, maybe bayswater is also different. I tried AVO 68 dollars each on order for a wait for 3 weeks, shift performance was $91 delivered. Chasers did not have them in stock. I think i may have to ebay this.
  21. umm sorry to bring up an oldish thread but i need 2 reducers that go from 3 inch to 2.75 inch. i tried purple pig, pirtek, and HIS hose, any other ideas?
  22. tell us when u need the money. just to confirm boost controller 48 plus gst = 52.8 hand controller 36 plus gst = 39.6 cable 6 plus gst = 6.6 book 17 plus gst = 18.7 so total of 117.7, where abouts in melb are u?
