Hi guys,
Fernando Wiehrl here, driver of the Industrie/Autosalon Racing drift car.
I am proud to announce that I have just taken ownership of Saber performance products. (Formally Hybrid).
Saber will now fly under the Wiehrl International banner, alongside my other businesses, BBM Motorsports, and my original business, 3rd's Productions.
In the takeover of Saber I have struck a deal with Wai Chan, the former owner, and together we have set up a four acre warehouse and manufacturing facility in Youngzhou, China.
Our plan in China is to have our Manager (who we have already appointed) take care of manufacture of our products as well as look after quality control.
OK. So what does this mean to you guys?
Firstly, the Saber products we all know and love will now be back in stock, on the shelves, and ready to ship.
Secondly, we have our own facility in China, which means that unlike other suppliers, we don't go to just any old backyard factory and order 100 of a certain part that they have sitting on the shelf that they copied from someone else. Chances are these inferior parts have questionable reliability and may not even offer a performance advantage!
I know just as well as anyone on this forum that some products out of China have a bad rap, and in a lot of cases, rightly so.
But what we plan to do is to continue to research and develop all of the Saber products in Australia, but have them built to our exacting standards with very strict quality control, in our own factory. This way, if something does not meet the required standard of an Australian built product, it will not leave the factory, let alone ever hit the shelves here.
We have structured the business setup like this so the customer gets the product they deserve, and at an affordable price.
If all goes to plan, we hope to change the way people feel about Chinese built products. Many big brand name companies are already doing this, but they just don't advertise the fact due to the stigma attached to Chinese built products. The Chinese market is very much a case of you get what you pay for. Or in our case, you get back what you put in! Setting up a warehouse and factory, employing staff to take the appropriate level of care, and spending a hell of a lot of time in China ourselves to oversee the whole project.
I can only hope that when you are thinking of an upgrade, you consider Saber in the future and put our products to the test, just like I have been doing for the last three years in the punishing confines of the drift track. Please keep in mind our products continually evolving and are always getting better due to the fact that we use what we sell. This is one of the main reasons we have our factory, so we can control the quality. So please, buy with confidence.
See you at the track,
Fernando Wiehrl.
