  1. Hi, Definitely keen, if you get a postage quote and let me know that would be awesome! (As mentioned above, I'm on the Gold Coast) I'll find out if they fit, I imagine they would. Many thanks! G
  2. Ordered my BC - VA coilovers for an s13 with 9kg and 7kg springs (1 step harder than stock) Decided they are just too firm for my car when it's street driven (Nissan Bluebird) Looking for the standard spring rate of 8/6 kg or is anyone wanting harder springs? Willing to swap.. Located on the Gold Coast - Can meet and swap if needed.
  3. Ok, ill check out that surge tank you mentioned. As for the fuel lab setup, I have done some reading on that now and it certainly seems to be a very capable pump for a reasonable price. Especially as I can just fit that in place of my 044 and it would increase flow substantially. Do you know how the electronic pump speed is controlled? Anything else worth noting about that fuel lab setup? or is it more or less a bolt in pump..
  4. Yeah good idea Scotty.. Any ideas on the best way to mount a pump into a surge tank?
  5. interesting to read the thread. Good info. It does seem to me that most people are using pumps that are far over capacity for the injectors. I realise it's easy to just drop a Walbro 460lph pump into the tank and be done with it, but those of us looking for an inline pump.. It would seem that a single 044 could supply a lot of power before needing an upgrade. In line pumps also seem to be quite expensive in comparison to an intank pump. I am thinking of building a large surge tank capable of taking a Walbro 460 are doing it that way now.. What options do we have for inline pumps that flow similar to the Walbro 460 that is somewhat close to that price? ($185) I'm leaning toward the Holley 100GPH (370lph) but it seems a lot less flow than a Walbro and double the price for a target of 500 rwhp on E85..
  6. Unreal, I just ended up with that calculation a few moments ago.. Only couldn't be sure how the flow would be affected under pressure.. Pump I'm looking at is 370LPH free flow and I can't find a pressure flow rate chart. Thanks for the info!
  7. Where did you see the older style pumps online? (edit, just found it on the website but they are carby only) also, I take it the aeroflow black is working fine as a lift pump? Currently I use the stock 35yr old carby pump as a lift pump on my car with no worries but obviously will need to upgrade for ethanol.. Still can't find anything online for exactly what flow rate pump that I can use.
  8. Trying to work out my fuel setup for an E85 conversion and I'm a little stuck with pump sizing. Was planning on fitting an R31 efi tank to my bluebird which is a straight fit and it will allow me to remove the surge tank, however, I have been seriously warned about surge. With this in mind, I will probably have to revert back to keeping the surge tank and using a large in line pump suitable for E85. Previously you all have given me advice on big inline pumps, but I need to know how big? Heaps of info on injector sizing but I want to know the flow rate I need for a minimum of 500hp at the wheels with a 4cyl FJ20 and I will be using 1400cc injectors. These Holley pumps look pretty good but can I get away with the 100GPH pump? any suggestions..https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/fuel_pumps_regulators_and_filters/fuel_pumps/efi_electric_in-line_pumps/ Thanks in advance.
  9. ok but what's the effects of warm ethanol in the fuel system and what will I see as a bottom line so to speak? G
  10. Interesting about running the Walbro inside a surge tank. would have to seal up the tank pretty well though. With the big external pumps, why is keeping the fuel cool so important? Does E85 have a tendency to heat up and cause issues?
  11. Thanks for the feedback.. Will look into it now! I haven't seen a Walbro pump to suit the flow I need as an external pump. Only seem to find in tanks. Doesn't really matter what pump, just as long as it's reliable enough for the job. @Joshbigt62r - Mainly just my street car and weekend fun. But I would rather future proof it!
  12. Running a single 044 now fed from a surge tank which will run out of flow on E85 and I would rather not change my surge tank to a twin outlet if I don't have to. Can anyone give me any ideas on big single high flow external pumps are up to the task? Only one that seems to fit my requirements so far is an A1000 from Aeromotive... Would this be suitable? Aiming for 500rwhp from a 4cyl. Thanks, G
  13. Thanks for the replies everyone. I think I'll just have to suck it and see. I'm a little concerned about the wolf driving high impedance injectors however. What happens if the ecu can't run them? Will it cause an issue or fault in the ecu? I have no experience in this department..
  14. That would be good to know.. can anyone else comment on this?
  15. Hey Scott, Yeah, just trying to get as much info before I go ahead with the fuel system upgrade. If I can run the injectors by just effectively 'plug and play' then that would be great. Haven't found anything on google yet about anyone running high imp injectors on a Wolf V4. I hope to make around 500 rear wheel HP. (I make 400 @17psi now on 98) so with boost up and e85 I hope that's realistic. I run a surge tank so I will look into bigger single external pumps.. Are twin 044s a good cost effective option? Fuel rail I have found a pre fab kit online. Any continued info would be awesome, thanks for the input! G
  16. Hi all, Getting the bits together for my E85 conversion but the biggest issue I am concerned about is my ECU. It's an old Wolf V4 and I want to run a 1400cc Ethanol injector. http://scottyscustoms.com.au/product/1400cc-injectors/ Would like to know a few things.. I spoke to Wolf and they said the ecu should be able to run the injectors, however, they are high impedance and I currently run low impedance. Has anyone used high impedance injectors on this ECU before? Just want to be certain. 2nd.. Will these injectors be tunable down low for idle and low rpm? 3rd.. I run a single 044 now, will it be better to add a second 044 or upgrade to a bigger single pump? any ideas? I'd like to upgrade the Wolf at some point soon but don't want to go through the hassle of it if I don't really need to. Thanks for the help, G
  17. Any know where I might be able to find a sway bar? Tried all the wreckers on the Gold Coast and no one has anything.
  18. Yeah fairly certain my setup isn't far from it's limit. It makes just on 400hp now on pump fuel, and with the boost up another 5 - 8 psi along with the switch to E85.. I am hoping for a sizable power increase. I would have thought that would push a normal coil setup past it's limit. My tuner certainly thinks so. I'm doing a fair bit of reading but I can't see as yet much of a defining difference between quad coils or a simple wire in MSD unit. Has anyone had experience with hitting the limit of an ignition setup perhaps? Cheers for the input everyone.
  19. Looks like the LS2 setup could be the way.. Can anyone tell me if going to LS2 coils as apposed to an MSD system would be an advantage or not? I'm just looking at the simplicity of setting up the MSD. Thanks, G
  20. Ok I see, thanks for the info. Ultimately, I can set up a LS1 coils and stuff around with wiring etc and most likely get away with it cheaper, however, I can get an MSD 6A and coil from the states delivered for around $320 Aus. Which as I understand is a very simple wire in. Is there any downside of going with an MSD over a set of LS1 coils for example? Cheers everyone for the help, G
  21. ok great, well as I don't know a great deal about ignition systems, would I need to ask Wolf (Wolf 3D ECU) for a connector to run these coils? If so, I assume this bypasses the single coil I have. Does that wire directly to the distributor or what? I'm terribly miss informed when it comes to ignition and wiring so apologies for the ignorance. G
  22. Hey everyone, As the topic title says, I'm after these items. Just a stock sway bar and parts are fine. If anyone has one for sale, please let me know! G
  23. Running a single bosch coil on my FJ20 with a distributor. Engine is a high end build making good power on 98 RON pump. Going to swap to E85 soon and more boost. Tuner said to upgrade ignition as well.. If I run an MSD 6A with blaster 2 coil, will this suffice and should I see an improvement just adding it to my current setup? Thanks in advance, G
  24. well said! so I'll go ahead and get myself a bigger pump and injectors and get it to the dyno.. Already cracking chassis welds with 400hp in my bluebird. See what happens if it makes 500 haha. Should go ahead with everything in about a month so I will do a step by step build guide to add to the thread for anyone interested. Other than that, I looked up the Walbro 460. I believe that's an in tank pump. Anyone recommend a tried and tested in line? If anyone has any other info from experience that I might benefit from, I would love to hear it. Cheers.
  25. Ok great, thanks. Also, has anyone made the swap to E85 and not made a increase in power? I've been told that depending on the engine it may not really make a difference due to head not being able to flow etc. In saying that, my FJ20 runs 291 degree cams with head porting and a GT3040. I'm pretty sure there is a lot more left in it....
