  8. i bet its something like the hsv badges on all the commodores i see
  9. thats not the idea but, wouldnt you parallel up the sub by running a wire from the positive of one voil coil to the negative on the other, then run power from the other two plugs, then bridge 2 channels of the amp for sub, and have the other 2 channels for front speakers. just my 2c
  10. Try Rockhampton Autobarn, I hear the guys there are really really friendly and helpful.
  11. with the alpine splits i have, they have provision for a tweeter imput, but i cant get it working
  12. fully active meaning each componet of the split speaker is amped, in this case, the splits are running off a 4 channel amp, the tweeters will have thier own 2 channels
  13. mna i can see the car that was parked next to mine at the jamboree in one of your pics. if only u wernt so interested in all those ladies, and more interested in the cars
  14. does anyone own a pair of SPX splits (F#1 Status 6.5 inch splits) and know how to get them running fully active? the cross over has a tweeter imput, but i cant get the tweeters running. I have a mrv 540 to run the fronts, which sohuld be ample power
  15. that other install, is the a alpine mrv 340 and 2 m 500's??? i was going along that line, but i thought bugger it, went and bough an m1000, a mrv 340 and a mrv 540, havent looked back
  16. before anyone get annoyed at this, i am not having a shot at any one, i am just trying to help liquid85 out. Sometimes 2nd hand gear is not always an options due to availability, 2ndly having all that gear is a great start, but you still have to put it in, you still are up for a few hundred by the time u buy / build a sub box and wire the whole thing up. I know quite well it is possible to scrape together somthing for under a grand, but man you have a lot of shopping around to do. A good start maybe something like a m200 alpine amp and type s 12, can be done for under $500. I just dont want to see something in a car, and then not be happy. Good luck with finding a system anyway, let us know how you get on
  17. buy a really big dog as well . seriously a viper or hornet alarm i have had experience with, they bit are very good. it will take the theives mind off breaking in once he sets it off.
  18. how big is your power cable and you earth cable, where is it earthed? and how big is your return cable to the battery??
  19. man i would suggest save up for a little. you really do get what you pay for! I have people all the time come into work in the same situation, spent money, then come back in a few weeks disappointed with their stereo's. It really whats up to your own imagine what you do and how much u spend, but a grand will certainly get the ball rolling
  20. I came third in my class with technical problems
  21. i was about to cop a fine for a single wiper blade on the front of my car the other day, started having a chat to them and they turned out ok, i got a defect notice with a self clearance and no fine or points. The coppers were more concerned in what stereo i had in the car and how i went at the jamboree cause i still had the stickers on the car
  22. saying you dont have a front plate because your intercooler is too big is a no no. if either of your plates are lost, the remaining one must go on the back of the vehicle. and the replacement must be attached as soon as a new one is issued. you may even be asked to produce a receipt for the replacement plate
  23. did get any pic of the sound off by any chance??
  24. your right Nav2k. I guy has a 32 in clarion in a mitsubishi challenger up here in rockhampton. the box take up most of the cargo area. The clarion ute had two in the back of it, but form memory i think they have been taken out and replaced by 6 12 inch subs. The guy up here just fried the 32 inch as well, so i dont want his postage bill when he has to send it back
  25. if you have two subs, and buy an m500, these amps can run at 2 ohm all day happily. My m500 which is for sale is rated to 572 watts rms at 2 ohms. you should be able to achice this by running them in series, but it is hard to say no knowing what the sus are. My new mono block is 1130 watts rms @ 2 ohms.
