    who is going?
  10. 2 Guage? How big is this amp? My m1000 is only using 4 guage and its over 1100 rms. I wouldnt say any bigger then 4 guage. what type of 2 GA do you use? only stuff i have seen is welding cable, and it works, but its not as good as stuff for stereo's
  11. Is anyone competing in the sound off, or going for a look?
  12. Yep, only headers soemtimes referes to origional, where as extractors are always extractors
  13. maybe put some kings under it or some thing
  14. If you have a smaller amp, porting may have been an option, those type s 12's go really well in ported boxes
  15. Ahh now it all makes sence, yes i am not sure about that, if all your gains are the same but still, u cant evenly match the power well enough, i have seen a sub destroy itself in a mates car, it turned out he left the low pass filter off one side, didnt realise why it sounded terrible all the time and he found out the hard way. I wrongly assumed you were using a 2 channel amp. I agree entirely Predator about that if the amp cannot support it, but i didnt see a problem with what he was saying, i didnt think it would be a problem. Depending on how late you are for work that is about the 240 kph! Kids speed kills, dont listen to me:uh-huh:
  16. My mates corolla is "rollie"
  17. my mitsubishi mirage has been called marge for short. It stuck. It never gets called the mirage anymore, even places like my car audio shop just write down "marge" in the book. Even my parents call it marge
  18. Buying a new deck is a simple fix, but this may not always be an option depending on budget. I know of a 10 yo alpine player that actually can play mp3's! so its not always the age of the player. Yes your burn speed maybe to fast, yes your format of mp3's maybe a wrong also. I have videos that work perfectly on the computer, then put them in the car and forget about it, dosent even look like playing. More then likley it is the player having probs picking up the signal off the player. go raid ur mates computers for blanck cd's and replace them with your own blank cd's that do not play in your car. this will give you an idea of what works and what dosent. Good Luck
  19. go to your local car audio place. In rockhampton the mast is around $25 bucks for all different models of cars and only takes moments to install. If all else fails the trusty ol' coat hanger will work a treat , just not the thing u want hanging out the back of your 33. You shouldnt have a problem getting a replacement one
  20. good to see it all worked out. Maybe you should get a room if you are going to rub your box though........ . I forgot to say if its not auto carpet forget it, but you found that out, good to see.
  21. Carpet is really easy to cover a sub box it, on problem i have found is the selection of colours at bunnings, and the thickness of the carpet. if it is too thick it wont go around the corners of the box properly. an auto retrimmer will have carpet that could even match the stuff in your boot. dont pay more then $30, you should get a piece 1500 x 1200 for this price, that is ample for a sub box (usually)
  22. Kodak Silver gold cd's are very good for mp3 / vcd burning. Nero is very good for mp3 application. What player do you have? I have the same prob burning ripped vcd clips, some work fine, others are a bit scratchy. sometimes it can be blammed on what speed they were ripped at origionally, and how you computer decodes them.
  23. Rule of thumb, try keep power one side / signals, audio other side. It is possible to hear even an indicator noise thru rcas when the wires run together. just keep the rca's to the opposide and you will be fine. (when Cable is run from engine bay to boot). This of course does not apply to cars with batteries in the boot
  24. How long is a piece of string? If it is just for a set of speakers, and you have no plans for anything bigger, 8 guage is probably ok. If you plan yo go to subs, 4 guages is you best bet, install once keep happy. you will need to run rcas from the head unit and a trigger wire. A fuse holder is the same weather it is 4 or 8 guage, so its just a matter of if you want to fork out for the bigger wire. In a 33 is is quite easy because you only have a matter of metres to get to the battery. A metre tops is probably all you will need. Remember you will need speaker wire to get back to you fronts as well. If you are doing it yourself, $50 - $60 as a pretty much top guide, depending on where you mount the amp. if you get it done pro, you could be looking at over $120 mark, if they wire speakers and all for you. This method usually leads to a longer life span due to less stress But if u have a little knowledge, this job will be quite easy.
