Rust Spots Under Car, Should I Be Concerned?
JamesK replied to JamesK's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Ok I always thought the car started to feel a weird vibe at 50-70kph I know this is a bit of a weird question but to someone with my car, do you think you could give it a small test drive? Just to feel if everything is A1? -
Finally got my UHF back, when I lived in the states I always had one on me while I was driving (got to be honest with you I always feel like I'm on the wrong side of the road here), I was wondering if you guys normally have them on when you drive and if so what channel do you usually "live on"?

Rust Spots Under Car, Should I Be Concerned?

You got a pretty good eye there terry, thats exactly what happened the seller told me that the back was hit, although I'm pretty sure even he didn't know the damage was this bad (he was the importer) I paid 9.5 flat for it he didn't charge for rego or anything so I'm not to dissapointed but I want to make sure I can take care of my baby but I'll make sure I'll do what you said, Thanks for your input Terry Will do guys, on my way to my favorite autobahn haha -
I bought a R33 not too long ago, I had it checked by a mechanic and he said it was in pretty good nick however after giving it a wash the other day I noticed lots of tiny spot marks just behind the rear bumper and just above the exhaust muffler, Although it looks like that is expected (above the muffler) since there appears to be a metal cover over it which seems easy to replace. Not so sure about behind the bumper which is the housing for the spare wheel. Another concern is a bend I found in between the front and the middle of the car I'm not sure what the part is called but it's one of the two beams that run underneath the car from one end to the other (Refer to picture), I plan on sanding it back and painting it over the avoid furtur rusting however I wanted to know if you guys though the bend could lead to serious problems in the future. Also does anyone know what that is they spray under the car? And if so why don't they spray it all the way to the end of the car? Thanks in advance

Was wondering who here is going to the Autosalon, how, and if anyone wants to meet up b4 or at the show? (Thought it would be cool if a bunch of Skylines pulled up but figured most people would take the train cause or parking, traffic and all, but still think it would be cool)

I was hoping people could share with everyone their stories and opinion when people in whatever car pull up to you and trying to race you or acting like they could smoke your ass even if they are in crap box on wheels, how did you go about handeling it? Would you have done it different if you could do it again? Even if see people driving like idiots or have an opinion don't hesitate to share.... Here's my story anyway, I was driving down to CarLovers today around 12am to give my R33 GTST some TLC and some idiot pulls up to the side of me with a flat bed truck, at first i didn't think anything of it (To busy wondering if i was going in the right direction) until my girlfriend noticed the guy was driving like a dick, he would speed up then slow down to my pace then speed up again, we eventually came to a stop light after about 7 minutes of his crap and he obviously wanted to drag. I wanted to leave his ass in the dust but had second thoughts, if we do give in to these people who we society see's as hoons does that make us hoons? Are we hoons? I have to admit out of a stroke of luck i couldn't race to dimwit. Currently i'm in the middle of installing my car alarm + Immobilizer, it's been fully installed but I was in a rush cleaning up the wires to get going and I guess one fell out and on to the accelerator, I knew if I put this guy in his place i would snap a most likley important wire of my alarm system but I realized the trade off just wasn't worth it, I mean what gratitude would I get from it? Knowing i just smoked someone who I will never meet again? At the expense of my electronics, my gf's respect, the $10 of fuel i just wasted I'd by forcing down my cars throat, not to mention what would happen if there was a speed trap or bears sitting aroudn the corner. Even though I would have, I feel quiet good about myself that I didn't. I know my car could kick his ass, we all do...so why is it so tempting? I've never had this behavior from other Skyline owners (although I do recall from some STI owners hahaha, sorry no offense to anyone) everytime I've seen a skyline or pulled next to one I would usually complement on how sick I thought the dudes car was and have a good chat waiting for the light to turn green or we'd smile at each other and drive bit more aggressive, but never has a fellow Skyline driver ever try to temp me. I have seen my fair share of idiots though, however I like to think the car isn't theirs... Really interested in responses oh and if you took the pole why did you choose that answer? As for me, I consider my self a driver, would never want to be classified as a hoon but I have my idiotic moments...So am I a hoon? Where do you draw the line?

If you dont mind me asking...why? To be honest I think everyone here will agree with me when I say if your on an auto license it will def. be worthwhile to learn and get a manual, also when/if you plan on reselling auto's are a hard sell from what i've heard

I am having trouble fitting my remote start in my car which I found off an Australian site (Ebay Junk not being sold on ebay which is actually pretty good value!) anyway I've been trying to get the remote ignition to work however i've encountered some problems (and just in case anyone wants to flame me for installing remote ignition in a manual car i went the extra mile and made the circuit go through a neutral switch so it's not complete unless the car is in neutral, hand brake is up and the door is closed). The remote start works fine the car cranks and starts the problem is however is getting the car to realize the engine has been started this is where the problem lays, the car does not register a start and fires up the starter motor again making the horrible griding sound, I'm suppose to wrap a wire around an ignition coil, which I'm guessing is from the coil packs? Please correct me if I'm wrong, which enables it to detect the current flowing from the engine but no matter what I've tried (engine check wire for the turbo timer, placing it nearest to the engine bay, tacho, etc. it is unable to register the engine is on, to double check it is not the device which is malfunctioning I placed the wire near a florescent work light and viola la! It detected the current and registered a start. So now i'm stuck on trying to figure where the ignition coil is however I noticed unlike most cars i've worked on the coil packs are under the engine cover? Please correct me if I'm wrong there too, I thought this might be the case when I couldn't locate the coils or the distribute to check the RMP's on my tacho. If anyone can help me i'd be really grateful

Awhile before, by the time i saw you i forgot about it lol, sorry i missed on the recent members events just been really busy, I cant wait to meet everyone it's great having a community interested in the same things you are I know I was going to get flamed for this post and looking back on it I admit I was over reacting when I created this thread, but the way you make it sound as if you have never sped. Look I know the 5-0 are just trying to do their jobs and I respect that but what is the use of putting a camera in a back road where there was a tram stop in the middle of the road and cars on the other side? If I was behaving like an idiot and rice burning around then I know I would have deserved it and wouldn't have even started this thread. Worp you make it sound like your mister perfect, well if the system is so fair then why is it that if your are 1 yes ONE kph over the limit (yes none of us has ever heard of anyone getting booked for 1 but there is no law saying they cant) however Australia automotive laws allow for manufactures to have a 10% error on the speedometers and just incase the math is to hard for you 10% of 60 is 6 so by law car manufactures are allowed to have an error +/- 6 (at 60) but if your over by 1 your can potentially cop a fine? Would you like to explain that one to me hot shot? Thank you lama I've figured that one out from previous posts , look I have nothing against you guys I mean so far everyone have met on these forums, through track days, meetings are all great people I'm sorry for al the commotion this has cause but I just wanted to vent for a bit, I mean think of when you guys got your first ticket and you wernt driving irrationaly, you were just late and you someone happy. Yes, I made a mistake for speeding, I acknoledge that but can we just get passed this "Your an idot, you were speeding suck it up bitch" non-sense? I feel like i'm in sophomore year again like come on.

Age it's to benefit everyone remember the government always say it's not about revenue! It's all about the safety of our motorists....just like that new devices that they are implementing to detect when cars overstay their parking it's not about the revenue.....the fact they doubled the amount that they issue when they implemented the device into their trial areas, which was the result of going state wide.....it's not about the revenue....what society would we be living in if our OWN government wanted to squeeze every extra hard earned penny we have?

UGH speeding ticket here you come...dammit with my international license the fine is going to be huge....at least I don't get points taken off..yea buzz signs are mandatory although they get really sneaky with them like putting them right in front but at an angle where you have parallel to see it or right behind the car so you don't see it until you pass it....but at least they are easy to see cause they are ALWAYS large 4x4 or large white Mercedes vans

Last night about (8:40ish) I was taking my gf to Lunar drive in and we were late so I was doing around 66-67 down a 60 (I'm hoping) on some smaller roads going towards the M1 and I saw a mysterious white sedan parked on the side of the road it crossed my mind that it could have been a camera but being from Queensland it's not the type of car that they usually put them in and by law they have to have a sign (even though they always try to hide it, sneaky bstads) I could see that there wasn't a sign on ether side so I didn't slow down but when looking in me rear view as saw a flash and immdeiatly *words cant be shown here* crossed my mind, I had half a mind to go back and egg the car but I didn't really want to be arrested. Later down the road I was thinking about the laws in Queensland and I was wondering if they are the same here? Does a mobile speed trap require a sign saying it's in use? and should I have gone back and taken photos proving there was no sign placed? Shout out to Rchoo who i saw on the way haha, sorry I missed members go kart night hope it was good fun! BTW...who was announced champion?
