  1. Well i took it for a drive last night and it played up again. at about 6psi it would feel like the car is retarding and then the boost would spike up.... but this also happens with the boost controller off too so i dont think that the problem. I stoped it and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Straight away it didn't miss a beat for the rest of the night....
  2. Yea stock ECU running a haltech intercepter. I might have to do some reading on R&R. But ran the car again tonight and didn't miss a beat..... So its just the cold air thats causing problems
  3. Could it also mean my AFM is on it's way out? Is there any way to test to see if R&R is comming into play?
  4. It's really wierd. At night when it's warmish the car runs fine. But in the morning when the air is cold it gets up to about 5psi and the boost keeps rising but the car feels like it is running retarded. It doesn't missfire or anything like that it just feel like it has lost a huge amoutn of power. But it only happens when you try and rev it a bit. Crusing is fine. Any idea's?
  5. I have found a few FAQ's on fitting these to a R32. But has anyone done it to a R33? Intank The main things i am wondering about are, Do you need a check valve or can you just use a fitting straight out of the pump? How do people connect a strainer to the pump? And with upgrading the wiring, Do you just run the bigger wire to the top of the tank or do people run the bigger wire all the way to the pump?
  6. Has anyone come accross a problem with getting a bad misfire with this connected. The car is a R33 I have the base map applied and found that even if you set the starting point for this circiut to intercept at 10000RPM as soon as the cam timing should kick in it drops power. as soon as you cut the circuit and connect it back to normal, the car runs fine. I have been told by Haltech support it is due to the Nissan trigger. Can you get an aftermarket trigger wheel to work?
  7. ok i got the car dynoed. and as usuall it didn't play up. made 202kw which i was happy about. but driving it day has just pissed me up the wall. i gave it a bit of a rev out through all the gears and 1st was fine, 2nd was ok too as soon as i got into 3rd it was like it would have power for a sec, then feel really flat for a few seconds but boost and revs still kept going up, then it would have power back and then gone again. I am just sick of this car feeling really flat whenever it feels like it. then after doing that and driving around a little bit more. i did exactly the same thing and it reved out so smoothly and had heaps of power all through the rev range....... what the hell is going on with my car. I have cleaned out the AFM with electrical contact cleaner but that hasn't made a difference. Oh and on the dyno it was running slightly lean just on boost and at peak power. But he said if it was his car he would tune it to that ratio... im trying to get a AFM to test if that is the problem but no one seams to have a "working" spare one. The only other thing i was thinking is fuel pump.. and the fuel tank was full.
  8. It's not a plumb back one. But i have been driving around exactly like it is for the past 2 weeks without stalling... Can anyone comment on the fuel pressures?
  9. Yea i have a aftermarket bov. i just checked the fuel pressure. with the car running and the vac line off it's around 41psi. with the vac line on it is stable at 34.5psi if you rev the car it settles on 36psi for a sec then drops to 34.5psi. Does this all sound fine?
  10. Today my car just decided to stall when i pulled up at a give way sign. started up again and put my foot down to move off....stalled again. i was finally able to drive it into a car park and stop. left it for about an hour and drive it again, this time it almost stalled a few times. then i drive it again tonight and it ran perfectally...... God i hope i can find this problem soon.
  11. I spoke to soon. Even at std boost it has that problem. I cleaned out my AFM but that hasn't fixed the problem. I noticed on the plugs i took out that around the face near the thread it was black which is normal but on the part where is spark arc's to it was covered in white.... is this normal?
  12. Yea im really confused. because today when i drove it it was playing up. parked it for 20 minutes. kept driving and it flew with no problems. I got the mixtures checked quickly and they said it's running slightly lean on idle. So im going to check fuel pressure and make sure thats ok. but tonight i took it for a quick drive after changing the oil and pulling out the bleed valve. it was running about 7psi and reved cleanly with no hessitations or anything like that....... Any more idea's?
  13. Yea thats what im using now. About to go for another drive now. I will see if it still plays up.
  14. It's hard to explane. it's like it chokes for a sec then picks up.
  15. I changed the spark plugs and also changed the fuel filter (i think that was the cause of the problem) and last night i drove it and it went amazing. I was really happy. Then this morning it was -4 and i drive it and it just kept hesitating. Could the air have just been too cold and made the car run lean? Or does any one have any idea's?
  16. So if i haven't opened it yet. take it back and get my money back?
  17. I was wondering if it is worth while installing this guage? I have a R33 with the std ecu. I would just like to know if the car is running lean or too rich after doing different mods. Thank You
  18. I have connected up a boost guage and it is not spiking higher than 10psi. Does anyone have any idea's? Could it be the wrong spark plugs?
  19. The plugs i got sold are BKR6E Should these be ok? The car is a S1 R33 It is running 10psi and has forged pistons. Im going to put a boost guage on today to find out exactly how much is going through it and if it's spiking, It has a manual turbosmart bleed valve (i think)
  20. I think there BCPR6 i could be wrong though. What does the ES stand for?
  21. I just bought an 95 R33. And i found that under boost it would jolt a few times then pickup. I decided to change the plugs and noticed there were 3 different types of plugs. a few colder plugs, iridium and copper ones.... anyway i replaced them with std NGK .8mm gaped copper plugs. and now i have a problem where if i i rev out a gear at 3/4 throttle it pulls pretty hard, as soon as i go full throttle you can tell the car just loses power. Can anyone please tell me any idea's or anything to look into to try troubleshoot this problem? Thank You
