  1. Sounds like you had a wheel alignment at the tyre shop, that was a mistake. Take the car to a proper suspension shop if you don't have the knowledge to sort it out yourself. I would suggest Fulcrum as I don't know of any other reputable places in victoria. If you were in Brisbane, I'd say come and see me.
  2. Cowboy1600 do you have directional tyres on the front? Could you do a "left to right" with the front wheels? If not try putting 5-10psi more pressure in the right tyre than the left. See how your pull right goes after those things.
  3. I agree with this guy. None of those sizes will be good fitment on a skyline. I have 17x9.5" Drifteks with +18mm offset, which I think is awesome, may be a bit much for some though.

Yeah thanks PWND. I forgot to mention before that is also has a KAAZ 2way in it. Here's a few more photo's from Archerfield drift practise last night. Only has 230rwhp currently, had a tune a couple of weeks ago, std turbo & injectors etc. Can't wait to put the GT-RS on it with a new exhaust as it's still only got std dump pipe on it.
  5. Mine.
  6. Right you are! I did have the pads out as I knew that would be the cause of the noise, I also scuffed the pads up and it did fix it for about a day or two. The reason I posted here with my question is I wanted to know if there was something I was missing with the skyline as to why the noise came back. The answer being pads that are aimed at race use not street use. I've only heard good things about the QFM pads so I think I'm going to go with them.
  7. I would hate to see how you wear front tyres with the above wheel alignment specs. They would be great for track but terrible for street. Mine: R33 gtst, 17x9.5" +18mm offset drifteks. Street setting: Front. Camber: -2deg Castor: 6.5deg Toe in: 2mm total (1mm per side) Rear. Camber: -1 to -1.5deg Toe in: 1.5mm total (.75mm per side) Got standard traction rods. I work at City Suspension in Brisbane and can change my wheel alignment before going out to the track, which is nice. Those W/A specs are what I run on the street because I like to get the most out of my tyres on the street while still handling well enough for street driving. Also, to the original poster, more positive castor will make steering heavy not lighter, and will also give greater feel and response.
  8. What sort of tie rod ends did you put on it? It sounds to me like you've got too much toe in. I would definitely be having a wheel alignment as soon as possible. If you live in Brisbane, bring it to me at City Suspension, Slacks Creek.
  9. I guess this thread somewhat answers your question lexasty. I gave the brakes a hard time the other day and they seemed to be quite for a while after that. The more I drive it sedately and brake lightly the noise comes back and gets worse. So I gather the temp rating of the pads I have is too high for the main usage of them. Hopefully I'll have quite brakes when I get a pad more suited to street driving with lower temp rating.
  10. Call me at work, Tim, City Suspension, 3808 3266.
  11. Thanks for the help guys, I think I'll be trying some QFM pads in the rear first and see how that goes. Any forum traders supply QFM pads?
  12. Certainly did. I paid particular attention to making sure i did that. It's so annoying, I love the skyline and should have bought one much earlier but then there's this terrible noise every time I brake, quite disappointing.
  13. If Selby's is trading again buy your bars from them, Australian owned and manufactured. Whiteline swaybars are now owned by Red Ranger and are made oversees. Selby's used to make bars for Whiteline. Keep an eye on the Selby website for updates Selby's Sway Bars
  14. Sorry to resurrect a semi-old thread but I've had my R33 for about 3 weeks now and have tried a bunch of things to stop the brakes squealing, it's quite loud and very annoying. Mine has slotted rotors, which I've had machined, Bendix Ultimate pads in the front (new) and Ferodo Formula pads in the rear (also new), shims are also in there. My next plan is to use different pads and see if that changes it. When I had the rotors machined and pads changed it was all good and quiet for a few days, now it's just as bad as it was before. Any new ideas?
  15. Hey guys, if it helps, I've fitted BC's to a bunch of cars at work now. I've got customers in Soarers, Skylines, Silvias and Subarus that I've fitted BC's to and all are doing very well. All customers are happy with the BC's, great product. I'll be fitting them to my own Skyline in the not too distant future also. Anyone interested in buying some Tein type HA jap spec coilovers out of my R33?
  16. Hey guys, I've got the Plasmaman plenum on my r33, came with the car when I bought it. Just took it for a dyno tune and my tuner said he doesn't like the Plasmaman plenums as they don't distribute air evenly to all cylinders. He then proceeded to show me the different colours of the plugs. Anyone else come across this before regarding the Plasmaman plenum?

Hi guys and girls, my name's Tim, I've been a member here for a while but I think this will be my first post. Just got an R33 GTS-T last week, should have got one earlier but I wanted to own an s14 first so I did that, just swapped it for the R33 and am happy with the choice. Here it is. This car has just about everything my s14 had which made it a good deal. Tein HR coilovers (jap spec, way too stiff) 17" wheels which aren't really my style. GReddy front mount. Stainless 3" exhaust, brand unknown. Plasmaman plenum. Apexi PowerFC. Turbosmart boost-T (will be replaced by ProfecB II soon) R32 GTR seats. Nismo shift nob. Unknown clutch, sounds a bit like a twin plate and is quite grabby (last owner couldn't tell me what it is) Also came with a new unused HKS GT-RS with rb25 fitting kit and 555cc injectors. Will get ProfecB and fuel pump soon and put them on with the turbo and injectors and hopefully it'll have the same sort of response and torque that the SR had in the S14 for drifting. Also hoping to get along to a cruise or two and meet some of you soon.

  19. Bit too much toe on there for my liking. Cambers are pretty good though. Do you mind if I ask where that alignment was done?
