  10. yeah that berry blast was good, apart from the masses of ice... so much for fitting the dragger, f**kin 1 pce cat. tar. ps: qld section is poor.
  11. i did mine over the weekend. mine came out of a 32 so they where old and the alloy casing expands overtime welding the bastards in. took about 15mins on a couple each side then an hour each on the other wich have a dual case. i cut the centres out with a hole saw, heated them up and then hit the casing with the air hammer and eventually got them out with minimal damage. trying so hard not to damage the frame itself with a air hammer is hard. unfortunately i couldn't fit it in the press. if i was to do it all again, i'd just man up and give it to a shop with a press, i have a spare so i might do that. anyone know what happens if you put bushings back in the damaged case? cheers, D
  12. hey man, looks good. do you drive on moggil road at all? think I've spotted you around. catcha, D
  13. you know im always in. can i ride with you (shan) and tas? id bring the 32 but yeah you know haha, D
  14. dude come round by mine, ill help you press them out and re-grease them and repress. done the rears and front on mine, feel like new mind you the fronts are much harder then the rears. since im a backyard mech (actually im a sparky) hehe you sorta bend the baffle plate, but nothing a hammer cant fix. cheers edit: is it a gtst or gtr or gts4? ive only done gtst. edit 2: only got the equipment to press and re-grease, not remove and replace. sorry
  15. generally when they clunk when decreasing speed and braking its not that great (LSD). Same when accelerated, might need to be re-built or re-meshed by a diff specialist. OR it just could be the specific brand. but they all make a shitload of noise and some even have movement, whether 1way 1.5 2 way or even shim. Mate of mine, had dramas re-installing his diff centre and it now moves in the housing. So you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Sounds like a typical mech diff.
  16. you could always put a shim in your diff, see what its like then make a decision. cost you about 13.50 and a afternoons labour. and if you don't like it just take it out.
  17. sorry when i say zinchromate i mean as a paint containing the properties. something like the following: http://www.tradingpost.com.au/Home-Renovat...ternalHotlink=1
  18. okay well that covers the hub bearing part. now the balljoints. after searching google again, i found the following link. http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/64946-hicas-arm-ball-joint.html and the balljoint part #NIS5515430P00 < this seems to be the hicas balljoint, now i just need to find the control arm balljoints. i played with fast again, think im working it out. it seems that you cannot buy the balljoint on its own for the front LCA. rear lca is listed - 43173 as is Hicas - 55154 thats all i can find out. id rather go aftermarket, as nissan is a joke $$$. cheers, D
  19. Thanks mr. cali for reply. if i get the car blasted, i believe the blokes there with prime it. unsure on what they use, ill have to ring up during the week. am i in for a scare how much this is worth. Ive been using paint stripper for weeks now, after work and on weekends, its a f**k of a job, and im at the point where i want it done. I'm considering getting it blasted, they prime it in etch or whatever, ill spray the underside with zinchromate followed by body deader. then send it to someone for paint and panel. is it alright to use zinchromate on etch primer? Does the etch primer stop the zinchromate from rust proofing or does it limit the adhesion quality of further layers of paint. I have asked a few painters and they cant give me a straight answer, nether can google. cheers, D
  20. Hey joel thanks for the reply. im in brisbane. what sizes do i need. 93 r32 gtst front and rear all 4. and how hard is it to replace them? i gather there just a press fit on a shaft. have u personally done this? nissan i think would want at least 100-150 for the hub.? cheers, D
