  1. Yeah was a great day, thanks to everyone who showed up. ill have my pics up soonish
  2. done both, but will try again, not sure what the exhaust gas temp light has to do with it all though?
  3. yeah twas me, what were you in?
  4. yeah i followed those two cars to the bay from Malua Bay, looked a bit funny, two almost identical cars following each other like that. could've been me, what time was it?
  5. Hi all, firstly i tried a search, and found similar problems, but mines different. A couple of months ago my car started hunting between 1grand and 2 grand at idle, fixed this by replaceing the AAC Valve. now its started to idle very randomly, sometimes it will idle smoothly at 1000RPM, sometimes smoothly at 2200 RPM, and also anywhere in between 1000-2000RPM, other times it will idle at 2000RPM but "hunt" between say 2000 - 2050 RPM (needle on tacho doesnt move much, buts its rough as all hell). Since this second problem has started, when backing off (cruising to lights) the idle is rough as the revs drop, then (stopped at lights) it will idle where it wants too. In addition to the idleing problem, my Exhaust/Cat convertor over temp light flashes all the time, it mainly comes on under compression, or very light acceleration, i thought maybe my cat was stuffed (or empty maybe) and the exhaust gas was too hot so i removed the exhaust gas temp sensing probe and tied it up under the car in the cool air, but the light still comes on and has a the idle probs. Atm im strapped for cash, so before i start trying different things that may not be remotely close to fixing the problems (and wasting what limited finances i have), does anyone out there have any ideas or suggestions on how to fix these dramas? EDIT: the car is an R32 GTSt, with a FMIC, cat back exhaust and about 13psi of boost(rarely see more than 10 though)
  6. you go to the show, i went for about half an hour then left, went dirt go karting instead!
  7. theyre only about 5 bucks ea + labour to install
  8. Yeah that was me its a 32, that was you in the pearl white R32GTR? Sat nite? Also spotted a black R32 GTSt with NSW plates on friday down at the bay, waved got one back. and red R33 on the way back up today, waved and flashed lights, no reply
  9. you may be best to go to nissan and get the stud from them as i had a couple let go on my car and i got the aftermarket (supposedly cheaper) ones and they were too big to fit the hub, the nissan genuine were a perfect fit and cheaper too, thats on a 32 tho
  10. if the springs are loose when the whole assembly is just sitting there on the shed floor, its ok, when it is reinstalled, the weight of the car will take up the "slack" and hold the spring in there, just make sure ou stop when lowering the car off the jack that they are sitting properly captivated by the shock, if the springs are not in properly when the car is back on the ground, the car wont be sitting properly, not sure what/if any damage can happen, but its best to make sure theyre properly installed
  11. you should be right for a few weeks, my shocks werent too bad when i put my springs in, but were absolutely rooted after about 6 months, hit us up with a pm when you want a hand
  12. it should really take you about 2hrs to swap all 4 springs over, ill give you a hand if you want, could even do it on the day of the photoshoot if you want
  13. Not your marks are they Ewen? One shot i though may look real good would be down by the lake at dusk, (when the horizon is reddish) looking across the lake to parli house, with all the cars lined up in the foreground, if that makes any sense?
  14. chuck the springs in if you want, aint that hard a job, i reckon they look awesome dumped in the weeds, if your not a fan of the ride, you can always take them out if you want
  15. gotta love the sound of a boosted RB :headspin:
  16. they set me back around 1200, theyre customised in some way, i forget which, as the gts and gtr shocks have different heights and where they bolt on at the bottom (on a 32).
  17. If you put superlow springs in with standard shocks, your ride quality will be ruined, the car may bounce all over the place and it will wear out the stock shockers very quickly, (if they arent dead already) you may want to put some short throw shocks in at the same time to get some suspenson travel back. for example i put K-Mac 2.5 inch lowered springs in mine with the standard shocks, and the car would bounce all over the road, put some Koni Yellows in fixed it all up.
  18. spotted a black R32 on northbourne this afternoon, had a FMIC and goldish wheels, then a Silver R33 4door GTS25 in downer business park
  19. if you just want some secondhand tyres for the time being, just go to nothwest in fyshwick, dealt with the guys there a couple of times, friendly blokes and you get to choose the tyres that you want on each rim
  20. oh yeah spotted a blue R31 on Canb. ave on the way into Queanbeyan this afternoon, about 10 to 4ish i think?
  21. mine read heaps higher than i was hoping for, 168.5 rwkw, i was hoping for 130-140 kws, but then maybe my hopes were a bit low?
  22. try some fishing line in between the spoiler and the bootlid to "cut" the gummy shit, makes it a bit easier
  23. yeah that was me, your car looks hot man!
  24. Theres an RB20DET powered E30 323i here in canberra, been that way for a while too. Aparently the hardest part is the engine mounts It was featured in a magazine but i can't remember which one
