  9. i dunno if you people are all living in dreamland or just ignorant its simple why people ask the question why buy a na skyline ill tell u why exactly its a posers car my r34 (so called sports car) is worth ~15k, i could buy a vn wit reg for 1k and beat it, a mazda 3 would kill it fark theres not much on the road it can actually beat the reason people will ask those question is the same reason why u all ask ppl why they rice there lancers mirages protons civics etc... to the genius who says he blows away vz commodores in his r33 na, all i have to say is LOL are u running nos or somthing
  10. also another option, if you are not confident on running the wires, through. you could take the car just to the local mechanic(this isnt a hard job and any regular mechanic will suffice) which usually will charge around 70dollar ph labour and would charge you an hour or two at max !!
  11. hey mate, i dunno why you would pay anyone anything for this job, its simple. Run the wires through the same way you wud run a power wire for your amp, if your not sure on this root in a r34 look in the car audio section of these forums and there is a guide. The way is through the top corner of the drivers footwell, then you remove the wheel inner gaurd(or just the rear part) and it will follow through to the engine bay. With the gauges they will all have fittings/adaptors which the gauge box, should have instructions on where they should be fitted. in answer to your question re the oil filter, i would play it safe and drain all the oil into a clean container, and re fill it or even add another oil change in with the huge amount of money your saving by d.i.y ! Im honestly not sure how you would consider paying 300-600 for a job that should take an absolute noob like myself an afternoon at the most.
  12. hey mate, im using motul turbolight 4100 what makes you say its average?? has it decreased the performance in your car? has it created excess wear on your motor? or are you just saying its average due to all the posts you have read claiming only 300v is suitable and that turbolight is shit. Personally for myself, and possibly yourself, i do not race my car, do not thrash it very often, it is just a daily driver that sometimes is driven hard which i like to keep in the best possible condition. I think alot of people place too much emphasis on there oil types for street cars that are not pure performance cars. Just think if you took your car to the local mechanic down the road what would they put in?? my regular mechanic when i asked him what he would put in my car, he showed me some 20buk cheapo shell oil that he puts in all the cars with no complaints! For me the key is regular oil changes every 5k and i also think if it aint broke why fix it?? personally i would stick with the motul turbolight relativley cheap and does the job! although if you are still keen on the royal purple oils, i found some at autobarn in moorabin 99bux for 5 liters good luck either way mate!
  13. hey buddy, i have the exact same problem only probably worse, i also got the f*kin gear leaver and handbrake! stupid me and stupid fkn skyline designs lol my plan at the moment is when i get some time off i will pull those panels out, sand them back and respray, although im not sure how this will look(probably shit) although atleast the interior wont be all scratched up If you try this, or try a vinyl recover or you do find a way to fix it. please pm me!!
  14. i dont know why people are coming up with all these ideas of cuttingthinngs custom things etc when all he wants is to mount his 6x9s? The way i mounted 6x9s in a mates car, -walked into autobarn bought some spacers which are simple 6x9 little things that match the colour of ur parcel shelf these were around the ~$10 mark for the pair -Removed the old speakers, a couple screws pretty simple really -Glued in the spacers to the parcel shelf(I didnt think this was the best idea, but they dont rattle at all and has some serious bass, also hasnt come loose in over a year!) this could probably be screwed in if u can b f*kd -Screwed the new 6x9s into the freshly glued spacers(which have holes for screws), plugged in the wire that came out of the old speakers (alternative to this is run to an amp you have) And finished, this may not be the most proffesional way, but it sure as hell beats the $89 he was quoted for less than 15 minutes work!!
  15. in answer to your question, yes your amp is a monoblock made to power your subwoofer it will not run your front speakers no, you dont need an amp to run the speakers, they can be connected to the headunit and work fine. Your question is as hard to answer as how long is a piece of string? you havent told us much about what your looking for? budget, sound quality?? what? The installation on the equipment you have is absolutley simple. you should not spend a cent on it, have a look on these forums or possibly others for guides on how to install stereo equipment, when i got my first car and stereo i was quoted over $300 from jb for a simple car install, subs speakers amps hu etc. It took me under 2 hours for the first time with no guides or prior expeerience, everything is pretty much simple as yours is only a basic system(so far) I think any options you choose your system will sound great, kickers are great and you seem to have subwoofers and an amplifieer that will absolutley shake your car!
  16. here is pictures. I honestly cant believe the amount of time wasters 50phone calls asking for info the subs are 2x10inch boss audio subs that all i know about them, they pump and work fine no scratches or damaae to subbies the amp is in mint condition works fine if u want specs www.google.com jl audio a1400 its a 550rms monoblock amp the prices are 100% firm at the moment if you want them let me know. Nathan
  17. works fine mate, any test welcome i can connect it to my system or urs before payment. no chance for 125 u find a good brand monoblock with 550rms, jl audio, kicker, coustic, alpine, even shittier brands like pioneer for under 200!!!(that works)
  18. i think the front two are the back ones are borderline, although i am not a mechanic
  19. hey fellas car is sold However the car was sold to a mate who is just about to get off his p's and wanting a turbo model. the car is still running as great as ever! if anyone is keen on the car , (the price still wouldnt change, especially since such clean n/a's are rare) let me know and i can pass him on the message. cheers, Nathan
