My Feet Getting Hot After Driving My R32 For 20+ Min
Sammy34 replied to Andrew_Lazzaro's topic in General Maintenance
Its because no amtter waht your aircon vents will push SOME air through into the cabin, evenw hen your aircon system is turned off. Just turn the aircon temp down to cold or recirculation. This has happened in every car I've ever owned, I guess its so the cabin still gets some form of airflow. -
Some more pics of my car now with wing removed and some mesh inserts removed from teh front bar. Frnt bar is looking a lttle worse for wear atm, driving behind trucks carrying gravel isnt a smart idea, neither is taking the M1 from the southside atm with all the loose gravel through the road works.
-
yeh I know, just frustrating seein her paint in the condition it is from carparks, people egging my car and trucks dropping gravel whilst im driving behind them. Feels like Ive been neglecting it.
-
Hi, been considering getting the front bar, all the chips and scratches on my car repaired but Im tossing between having the car completely resprayed in the same colour or wether i should just get it resprayed and repaired were the dmage is. Problem atm is cant afford to not have my car for for longer than 3 or so days. And im worried about the quality of work and expenses involved in having the imperfections repaired as appose to the outside completely resprayed. Also need boot holes done as Ive removed my wing.

some fo the boards are interchangeable, for example on my r34gtt I believe they used the VG30 board.
-
Im fine with removing the TCS, problem is it just cant BE removed on an auto. You need well over 3g of mods just to remove that TCS.
-
thats right, even after being in contact with the blokes from nistune there response was that they havent written anything into there chips yet to compinsate for the loss of TCS so automatically from there tests on the neo the Nistune locks the car into third without the TCS unit there. My answer has mostly been answered, as I havent seen many if any posts regarding this I was curious to see if any manafacturer had created a plenum or TB with supporting attachments for the TCS unit. Smartest thing I could think of would be to custom make a fitting for the unit on an aftermarket plenum. As you understand to simply remove the TCS unit for an automatic car would also mean Id hafto change to a stand alone ECU which would mean aftermarket shift kit... your already looking at 4g plus for the sake of simply installing a front facing plenum. Let us know Dahtone when you have a product from your research and as im happy to try it out.
-
Ok, so at some stage I was thinking of doing a plenum on the 34. There are a few problems that need to be accounted for and anyone with experiance to help out a bit. My car is an auto so currently I run Nistune computer. Unfortuently the nistune cant compinsate for the loss of the traction controll unit after the Throttlebody so it locks the car into third. Which means I cant replace the plenum. Enless I want to go down the road of a stand alone ECU, shift kit etc etc. Is there anyway you can keep the traction control + installing aftermarket plenum... possibley a custom setup? Im looking at going a hi mount plenum, smaller body with longer runners as to avoid loosing response.

To keep on topic and give a non violent answer to the origional question asked in this thread. I drive an auto r34 skyline and as far as drivability, it has its pros and cons in comparison to a manual gearbox. I guess all in all its asking the question of what you want the car for. If your not competing in time attack, track events id say the auto gearbox could very much suit waht you are after. As for power losses between the auto and manual transmission, this power loss is somehow made up (you dont need to come off boost to change gears) Theres alot of modifications that can be done to an automatic gearbox to strengthen and increase its peformance in the way of: 1. shiftkits and manual valve bodies 2. stall converters etc. It is true some people liek to stick to the age old rule of only ever driving a manual sports car but I can also reassure you that the money you put into an auto gearbox and your ability to use it will never stop you from driving the car the way you want to. Go look at the numerous number of VL commadores that sit down at EFI performance week in and week out that are running auto gearbox with shift kits. These cars are making some serious numbers and there driveability is excellent.

How To Best Launch A V35 Auto Coupe....
Sammy34 replied to maclarenf1's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
what he needs is a huge 5000rpm stall, a big ass turbo and slicks on the rear. THEN his gearbox will live a short and painfull life. And I dare say so will the diff and engine. -
dirty dirty mind... try nissan man, I got new wheels studs from nissan and they were fairly reasonabley priced.
-
Yeh around 250rwkw's but the tuner strongly believes its going to do better than that on his first impressions. we just hafto see I guess. Im going to be running 1.4 bar and if everything goes well hopefully if first impressions last I cans ee around 260rwkw's although thats probably stretching the abilities of my gearbox a tad as the cars auto. Going to get onto upgrading that intake pipe though this week, if anything Id say that sounds like whats going on as Im sure those intake pipes arnt made for running 1.4bar of boost
-
as for my old turbo, old turbo wasnt op6, but i did get the compressor wheel specs off stao. Front is .71mm, rear is .65mm
-
nope it had all been machined off.
-
nah nah, they ordered 1 in and made it up. Bloke from hypergear recons its the intake pipe sucking shut, the boost solinoid is rooted, boost controller is rooted or cam gears. :S

end of this week, beggining of next. Guys at EFI have bene a big help as there only jsut getting there dyno facility sorted out this week so there getting my car retuned for free as the other facilities were poor. As for the compressor wheel the guy from hypergear really didnt give me any specs to go buy, what I actually got in the mail was a turbo with a larger rear housing than what I ordered, sit the old turbo and new turbo side by side and u will see the difference. All I got from the bloke at hypergear was it was using to4 internals. I mite make a phone call and get the info right now.
