  1. Hi all, Yesterday I had an Xtreme Cushion Button clutch installed in my R33 Gts-t. Initial impressions are really good- pedal is slightly heavier but still very light, engagement is very gentle and not too aggressive. It would probably annoy me if it was a daily (especially if you drive it without slipping it) but no problem to drive in traffic. No chance to test it out yet as it has been raining but will hopefully run it at WSID next week to see if I can drop my 1/4 time at all. So far so good!
  2. Wow its a small world! I remember you from my volvo days! I used to have a gold 244 turbo- I think i might have sold you an M45 gearbox down in Wollongong one night!
  3. Not entirely correct, its a bit more complicated than that... The Police need more grounds than that to place handcuffs on you and search your car.
  4. I made THIS for the same reasons as above. All you need is some alloy pipes and a welder. I made this one 2.5" on the turbo end and 3" on the AFM end so no need for silicone reducers (ugly)
  5. Can I ask a dumb question... What is the advantage of creating lobster back bends as opposed to using mandrel bends?
  6. I have to say in my experience i totally agree. It might be placebo effect, but my car (r33 gts-t) runs the absolute best with the factory airbox and snorkel fitted... and i have tried alot of combos!
  7. As has been said countless times before; if you have a legal issue, ask a lawyer for advice. It seems that everyone has a mate who has "been let off a fine" for x y and z reason. In many cases it is crap/ irrelevant/ exaggerated/ impossible. The offer i made to the OP earlier in the thread still stands... and applies to anyone else for that matter! :-)
  8. Definitely a matter you should consider getting some advice about. Give me a call anytime. I would be more than happy to provide you with some advice as to the options available to you. 0410 828 230 Chris
  9. I made a 3" to 2.5" alloy intake pipe on the weekend for my R33 and it now makes a billiontty more killerwasps... (not...) Seat of the pants dyno says no different to stock rubber intake with a bit of 3" stainless pipe inside. But that is only at 10psi on the stock turbo so who knows...
  10. As above, LIDAR refers to the hand-held (or tripod mounted) device. The operator must be stationary. RADAR refers to a device attached to a police vehicle. Can be used whilst stationary or moving. However in moving mode, the RADAR device is only able to detect vehicles approaching the patrol car. Click here for some helpful information. Cheers Chris
  11. No reversion at all with the BOV plumbed back in. Only has inlet reversion issues when the bov is blocked off.. But it sounds ridiculous like that anyway.
  12. Talking about intake pipes, I knocked up a new intake pipe for my R33 on the weekend! :-) I borrowed my friend's tig welder and used some piping I had at home. 2.5" on the turbo end, 3" on the airbox end. Fits the standard turbo and retains the factory airbox, BOV return and breather line. Makes a crazy intake sound too! Siiiik! [PS- sorry to threadjack... CBF to start a new topic!]
  13. Hi Guys, Very quick question; Car is a ECR33 Series 2. Are the coilpacks earthed through the metal mounting bracket that they sit on? Or are they earthed through the loom? Cheers Chris
  14. Dimensions of the sub box are: 530mm Wide 310mm High 450mm Deep
  15. Hi all, quick question. I am in the market for a new clutch, doing all the usual calling around. I spoke to someone at Xtreme Clutch very briefly who said the following; The DSBHD (Heavy Duty Ceramic Button- 850kg clamp) is only suitable for around 180rwkw The DSBXHD (Xtra Hvy Duty Ceramic Button- 1200kg clamp) is only suitable to around 240rwkw. Does this sound right according to experiences?? Seems a little low to me? Any input appreciated (and yes i have spoken to Jim Berry- i am evaluating ALL my options) Cheers Chris
  16. AFAIK, it had the head pulled by Trivett BMW when it was alot younger and it has never been the same since. The other plugs look normal, one was a little bit fouled. Im thinking possible cracked head on a water gallery (no coolant in oil) but i am hesitant to do anything about it as it is my daily and i dont want to make it worse!! Could fuel contamination/ e10 fuel cause this?
  17. Yeah.. and returned 9 litres/ 100km whilst at it!
  18. Resurrecting this thread- I bolted the turbo to a manifold on the weekend to see how much spacing out it would require... It just looks far too big to fit down in the stock location... Does anyone know the diameter of a GT30 comp housing?? What you think, will it blend? (sorry, fit...)
  19. If you want a pod filter, buy the best quality filter you can afford/justify. If you like it then keep it, if you don't, get rid of it. Simple as that really.
