had a look at it today, it does come across as a well kept example, it presented as new aesthetically. i might give it a week and see how i feel about it as he wasn't very flexible on the price (prob looking at about 15k) even though the front bar needed touching up and rego was due in a few weeks so we'll see how we go with it at the end of the day it is a fair bit of coin allbeit for a very nice car i'm just not sure if it is the best way i can part with my savings
-
thats exactly what i had in mind for it, i'd probably be putting on about 3-350kms a week, it seems like a great daily i would be going in a bit lower price wise but overall the seller comes across somewhat genuine but i suppose its all hearsay until i take a look at the facts in the flesh theres quite a few options around the 12-15k mark, i do like the the XT/manual combo but i could do without the luxury pack as im not a huge fan on leather will def consider coming up your way to take a look if i get an itch for this one

cheers thanks for that mate yeh from the outside the ej25/ej20 motor seems like a solid unit but when i was looking at a few v5 sti's alot of them had rebuilds past 150K kms they seem like a great car on paper in terms of performance and practicality, unfort i'm not in the know with much of the subie world

Evening Gents was hoping you guys could could give me a sanity check on this - been wanting to replace my clapped out daily (1991 mazda 626) with this - a 2004 Subaru Forester XT SG9 hoping to take a look at it over the weekend Been looking the last few weeks on carsales and OzFoz, this one seems to look alright (allbeit the wheels) description below; I am planning on selling my pride and joy and thought I would try OZFOZ before the others. I am only the second owner and I purchased it from the country from an older family. The car is brilliant, but I need to get some funds as we are building a house and don't have the cash to finish it off. My foz hardly gets driven, it stays in the garage the majority of the week and when I do drive it it is treated with the respect a car like this deserves. I bought the car stock at around 80kms. It took me about 6 months of looking for a one owner luxury manual and about a 8 hour drive to pick her up. I have done the following to it -New TEIN Springs with non self leveling struts at the rear. Sits down very nicely front and rear -Turbo Back Xforce Stainless Steel Exhaust system done at 102kms (muffler not cannon - sounds unreal) -GFB blow off valve can be changed to plumb back with a twist of the collar -19in Black Lenso Wheels with kumo's with heaps of tred -18% window tint -Black rear genuine subaru STI lights -K'N filter -Brand new Clarion TV/DVD Bluetooth double din system (this was installed about a 2 weeks ago and cost me 800.00 still has the plastic protector on it) -Excedy clutch at approx 110kms -dash matt -forester matts -boot liner -Sports grill and headlight surround -some badges have been removed but have all of them available -tow bar with subaru insert and ball removed ( have ball ) -new rear boot protector forester style from japparts -genuine subaru roof racks not used bought them from ebay just in case but have not used them there is probably more but can't think at this stage It looks unreal and drives the same, the interior is spotless and as the luxury model it comes with the moonroof and all leather. Other things is genuine subaru boot lining, floor matts and complete log book service history. The car is washed about twice a week using meguiars products and polished and waxed using autoglym monthly. The paint looks better than new. I do the leather about once a month with the leather protector from autoglm which doesn't mess around with the colour and keeps it nice and soft so no cracks what so ever. The carpet and other interior is cleaned with meguiars products and looks as new. There is a scratch on the front bar and some stone chips that I have quoted to have repaired and sprayed at around 400.00. Other than this the car is immaculate. It would have to be one of the cleanest 04xt getting around. Not really sure what it would be worth but if you interested or know anyone who would be let me know. I have quite a few standard parts to go with the car if someone wants them such as tailights, springs, struts, cd player I would consider a swap for something with cash my way as I need some spare cash to do a few things to the house. Never been in an accident, very genuine car. My uncle is quite high at Subaru and had the vehicle checked out prior to buying it and all services were carried out properly. The only warrenty work the vehicle has had was a new motor to the sunroof and was told by my uncle that this is very common in this model. Sunroof works perfectly as it has done since i bought it. Model: 2004 XT Luxury Colour:Silver Transmission Type: 5 Speed Manual Registration Number: ZJE 519 Mileage: 123,000 Price: $16000 Other Information: Pictures: only uploaded three, email me and I can send you a heap what i want to know - from those with experience of just general subie knowledge, is are these as bulletproof as i imagine them to be? is there anything i should be looking out for? is this the right spec i should be looking at any input would be great guys thanks a heap dan

Nemoto Godfather On R34
JGTC replied to R34 25GT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
should have no problems they should fit fine - beyond 9" wide and lower than 30 offset would you have to worry about it -
great review mate been thinking about getting one of these, my biggest dilemma is choosing between a set of half descent 2.1 computer speakers ie. edifier s730s or swan m50s or going all on a cheapish home hifi set with an amp (preferably under $1000) how are u finding your yamahas?

Cheers Terry, btw was also good to meet you at the meet and check out your N1 as well as your son's Nur actually yeh Dave did say the best way to keep the tint at its best was to just use a damp cloth (just water no glass cleaner) and dry with a mircofibre - using any chemicals on the tint film actually accelerates the breaking down of it because it's pourous (it breathes) cheers again dan

Hey all, Went along to the Top Secret Imports Info & Tech night few weeks back as a friend of mine was hoping to learn a bit more about the bits and bobs of our world - (info and pics here http://forum.jdmstyl...orts-14-04-2012) They were doing various giveaways for the attendees and we ended up scoring a free window tint session with Dave @ Customworx I had initially put off getting my car tinted as i didn't want any of the hassles that came with it ie. bubbles, creases, scratching from the window roller etc... , but after a long and im sure annoying phone call with Dave i felt somewhat at ease to bring it over to have the work done We ended up deciding to go with a 20% darkness all round which i hoped would be a blend of privacy and visibility. Here are the before and after results; BEFORE: AFTER: To say the least i was very impressed with the turn out - Dave had put in between 3-4 hours getting it perfect for me at the same time answering all kinds of ridiculous questions and wives tales about tinting Furthermore, my rear windshield demister and radio aerial are still fully functional which is a testament to Dave's experience with Jap cars It was also comforting to know that Dave has been in the business for going on 20 years and is behind all the tinting that goes on in the Top Secret Imports dealership in Blacktown, NSW Not enough small businesses who are putting out top quality work are being recognized these days and i cannot recommend Dave enough with his talent and perfectionist attitude he puts into his work. Although he's based in Western Sydney, demand for his work has taken him all over the eastern seaboard doing work for different types of cars So if you've been putting off that Tint or Wrap on your car be sure to suss him out - he's mobile and works through nights and most weekends which makes it easy for those who work mon-fri 9-5 Customworx Name: David Jasper (also on Facebook) Phone: 0402 135 159 Email: mrskuzz@hotmail.com Just so you all know i'm not affiliated with Dave in anyway, i was just impressed with his workmanship and thought to give him a shoutout for taking good care of my car Dan

cool cheers for the feedback, that was why i was thinking of getting the 8120 and OCing it, that way im $150-200 up which could go towards one of the ultrasharps. the prob with me is that if i went intel i'd like to spec it to a i7 2600k and a nice mobo either the UD5/UD7 which would be completely beyond my means. the budget isnt the issue, i just was trying to balance my realistic needs and my e-penis and the AMD let me think that, where as with the intel sys id have to invest $2-300 more for the similar marketing tier (not performace) products all things point towards the i5 which bugs me becuase i want to think the AMD FX series are better for everyday computing will seriosly consider it, thanks a heap dan

evening gents, closet geek here, just wanted you guys' blessing/comments/criticism on this build im planning on picking up this week its a bit overkill for what im gna use it for which is just everyday computing and watching movies and tv shows. I've no real interest in gaming (current computer is a pentium 4) but i might pick up a basic FPS like cs GO or something (cod and bf series are too much for me). tbh i went the AMD due to the everyday computing performance and i could afford a flagship piece which is always a good gimmick to get sucked into here goes; Case: Corsair Obsidian 650D - $210 http://www.corsair.c...eries-650d.html one of the cleaner cases with nice cable management properties Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth 990FX - $199 http://www.asus.com/...BERTOOTH_990FX/ good feedback with this mobo for the price with the TUF gimmicks, part of the reason i chose amd as the equivalent intel Sabertooth was $275 PSU: Corsair AX 850 - $250 http://www.corsair.c...wer-supply.html was between this or the Seasonic 850W for $320, i thought 2nd place would be sufficient CPU: AMD 8150 Black Series http://www.channelpr...-fx-8150-review just going for the gimmicks here over the 8120 ($185) it is a bit of a rort, could change mind but i think il end up with the 8150. I understand the i5 2500K/ i7 2600K is a better card for gaming, 3D and vid editing but since it was for browsing and just everyday computing i felt the 8150 suited my needs better GPU: Sapphire HD7850 OC - $259 http://www.sapphiret...1472&psn=&lid=1 pretty set on this as the MSI version was $280 but had 3 heatpipes over the Sapphires 2 but im not pushing this system so i thought i could stinge here RAM: Corsair 8gb (2x4gb) Vengence - $77 http://www.corsair.c...3m2a1600c8.html HDD: Seagate Barracuda - $99 http://www.newegg.co...N82E16822148840 Display: 2 x Dell Ultrasharps 23 or 24" - hopefully around $220-280 ea on sale http://accessories.a..._monitor&~ck=mn that's pretty much it, im a bit of a sucker for gimmicks hence the lavish motherboard and case aswell as the 8150 over the 8120 (70$ dearer) i will defend the PSU and the motherboard as id like to keep the build as reliable as possible (based on gimmicks/features and user feedback) but that was the thinking behind the parts righto, rip into it and let me know how much of a muppet i am cheers dan

Hey mate, I was in the same spot a few months back, ended up going with the redline high temp ATF That said I'd like to try the transmax Z next change but I liked that redline specialised in transmission fluids before they started making engine oil Hope that helps Dan

No need to arc up guys - I totally understand that you want to see and buy a physical product - there is a sydney retailer that sells a similar deal to the one on Waxit in Melbourne Car care products - 4 Harris Rd, Five Dock, NSW http://www.carcarepr...uffing_machines Also nothing wrong with the ryobi you bought, plenty of juice for effective swirl removal and with adjustable RPM its a decent unit - another advantage with that one is u can easily take it back if it goes pear-shaped And to be honest there's not a whole lot of info on those concourse random orbitals - as most of them are re-branded generic tools, meguiars used to do a rebranded DA-6 polisher also, it may have eluded me but i cant find any info on these tools besides whats given on the detailing websites, stuff like country of origin and what not I think the difference with the Bosch product is that it is part of their professional range of tools hence attracting a higher price tag, whether you need to pay that extra for just applying polish (not sanding) is questionable but alot of people have also used the bosch with success and swear by it. IMO if you're gna fork out 400~ for the bosch spend up and go for a Festool random orbital - they seem to be the bees knees in this department hope that helps dan

hey mate, are you referring to the bracket which goes over the top of the battery to the reo bar or the tray which holds the battery underneath? sorry i may have it lying around just wanted to make sure what i was looking for daniel

Hey guys, i also had this issue when it came to choosing a setup which was space conscious without sacrificing too much sound quality. For various reasons i didn't want anything taking up space in the boot so i opted to go with an under-the-seat setup for my amplifier and sub under the passenger seat i went with a Focal Solid 4 amplifier which was bridged to provide cleaner power to my front coaxials - there is less space under the passenger seat as the height is set to a default with no way of adjustment under the driver's seat we went with a Focal BUS25 under-the-seat sub which was able to be fitted without too much compromise to the seating position in my opinion (subjective and to be taken with a grain of salt) as a bit of a bass junky i was somewhat surprised with the BUS25's ability to fill out that lower octave of sound to compliment the midbass of my coaxials. I also found that having the sub under the seat provided a good stage for the bass as the sound didn't have to travel through the boot, chassis, seats to reach me - rather it was right under me which i think somewhat balances out the negatives of having a smaller, less powerful sub. my only advice would be to spend good coin ($500~) on a good set of splits (morel, cresendo, focal, german maestro, rainbow to name a few) aswell as some dynamat for the front doors to help seal in to provide a solid midbass to make up for some of the punch the under-the-seat sub lacks. here's some pics of the amp and sub i went with Focal Solid 4 - $600~ Focal BUS25 - 500~ Further reading about the BUS25 under-the-seat sub with installation pics http://www.mobileele...04-focal-bus25/ http://www.mobileele...nder-seat-subs/ Hope that helps Daniel

passed a black spoilerless R32 and a white altia kitted R34 while stuck in traffic on parramatta road today, cool cars guys =)
-
nice car dude, looks extra tidy, the impul sides and rear really suit the lines of the dark blue paint
-
that should fit perfect shouldn't be a problem, unless you have your car riding really low on adjustable coilovers, as in dumped - you may consider rolling the rear guards a tiny tiny bit otherwise, those specs are ideal and will sit perfectly on a GTT hope that helps, danny

The car is actually built by a German tuning company as their 'interpretation' on the Z-Tune and scored a full feature in Speedhunters Weather the seller is a genuine seller is another question http://speedhunters....z-tune-r34.aspx Pics:
