hey bud, definitely worth it, that is the going price, some can be had for less, some for more, it comes down to what kinda of options you want with it, eg; colour, coupe or sedan, factory optioned/aftermarket bodykit or stock, etc... these things play a large part in the price for non-turbos, if you can't find one you want right now, just be patient for one to come across with your name on it, don't settle for anything less. good luck with your hunt, be sure to post pics! danny

Good Panel Beater And Spray Painter In Syd?
JGTC replied to BLACKGTR33's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
hey bud, for minor work, liek touch ups, scratches and panel or bumper touch ups, call Camille at Top Coat Auto Touch Up, he did some fantastic work for me for a very reasonable price, we had touch ups for 3 of our cars done by him including my R34. his colour matching and workmanship is very good and he is very fussy hes located in Guildford but can come to you, his number is 0414 808 843, tell him Daniel with the black skyline recommended you. for major work, Louie at Xclusive Colour Management in Smithfield is the most well regarded panel beater in Sydney, also does good deals for SAU members, Louie's number is 9656 6797 hope that helps, all the best, danny -
hey man congrats on the deal, it looks fantastic, logbook and documentation is always a plus, and so rare these days the transmission really doesn't matter, if you can enjoy it in it's standard spec, i would much rather a clean, documented and genuine automatic car over a somewhat tidy but un-documented manual car hats off mate, hope you enjoy it for many years to come danny

Hazard Perception Test: Green P Plates! How To Pass?
JGTC replied to La Bomba's topic in New South Wales
i too shat bricks about failing this test, don't stress too much, as you will get a few practice rounds before the actual thing at the rta, so that u have a proper idea of that to do, there are two main scenarios, 1. press the screen to if you think you should slow down (includes corners, joggers, mums with prams, cars reversing out) 2. press the screen if you think it is safe to turn at this intersection (when there are absolutely no cars) Basically envelope the mind of a true granny driver, never cross the intersection if there are cars and always look for shit to slow down for good luck with it man, let us know how you go with it, danny -
dr. detail (mark) is pretty highly regarded in sydney if not the most, planning on enlisting his services on my car in the next few weeks here are some picture diaries of others getting their cars detailed by mark http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Dr...mp;hl=dr+detail http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/V3...mp;hl=dr+detail here are his contact details; http://www.drdetail.com.au/ hope that helps, be sure to post up some pics of his work if you go through with it! danny

you'd definitely want to be captain cautious with buying any un-registered car, it looks pretty cool in the pictures though, its the only one i've seen in the country with a full veilside bodykit (they guy has got it wrong in his description) and the paint is crazy buy pretty cool. as for the amount, i'm not too sure, as its not everyone's piece of cake, most people want a stock standard GT-t to modify so be a bit careful thinking you can make a profit out of it, especially with P plate laws in Vic.

hey mate, Okada make very high end coilpacks, which would be suitable for a high power build such as yours, they are used in the M speed R34 GTR. They are by far the premium option in ignition coilpacks, the next step down would be Splitfires which also have a large following of happy customers in their moderate-high power applications. here's a link that may help: http://theclippingpoint.blogspot.com/search?q=okada hope that helps, danny

not sure if it is the same in VIC, but in NSW if you acquire your red Ps on an auto, you are only restricted to autos until you progress till your greens, once you have your greens, you're free to drive manual cars.

Generally for a GTR, you'd want the 300V Chrono variant of Motul, theres the regular 10w40 for road use and the 15w50 competition version for occasional track use. the best place for general consumers is Repco when they have their 20% off sales on Motul fluids. Judging from your car description, perhaps ask your tuner what oil is best for the mods and power your car is running

Hey man, great work with the wheels, the offset is tough as! only my opinion, but perhaps when you're over the bronze, maybe get them re-done in gunmetal grey or gloss black, as it will go real nice with your bonnet, spoiler stands and center section of your front bar - it will definitely set it off nicely with the white paint great work, many of us can only dream of a set of wheels like yours for our rides =)

hey bud, there's a good thread worth your time to read, it details exactly what your after i think here's the link: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Go...l=goods+on+oils on topic, i was able to get some Motul 300V for my car as it was on sale at my local Repco so i'm trying to stick with that as it renowned as the best way to ensure the longevity of the engine with it's ester based mix. hope that helps, danny

Thinking Of Buying R34gt But Dodgey Gearbox? Options?
JGTC replied to JoshN's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
hey man, if you're a first time buyer, and not really mechanically minded, i would suggest staying away from a car that could give you potential headaches, try finding one that's in a little better shape than that one, you'll be much happier. -
hey bud, this isn't state specific, but if you are selling a car with work done to it, worse place you can go is to dealers, because they are the worst buyers possible, they won't give you a happy number to work with. try posting it up here, but write a really detailed description, dates, receipts and where the work was done, and take a lot of photos, and load them up thru an image host like photo bucket so people can just browse. the goal is to give as much information to motivate someone to come check it out in person oh and clean up the car inside and out so the pictures reflect the quality of the car so it presents mint all the best, you car sounds like a nice package so don't let it down by your marketing here's a good example of what i mean: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/19...ne-t313048.html danny

that front bar is actually a previous nismo R-tune front bar, it shares the same large side vent, but only has one splitter under the actual bar rather than the dual lip and splitter combo so it differs quite a bit from the later Z-tune incarnation, also by nismo

hey man you can buy them from waxit in australia, theres a branch in queensland you can order them from, they've branched out to melbourne aswell so postage could be cheaper for you from there. http://www.waxit.com.au/products.asp?cat=64 you can also make them from, milkcrates which is a heaps good idea, or get those circular oven stands like the ones you get with the flavourwave turbo-ovens on tv all the time, just hunt around cheap chinese shops or kitchen-ware places hope that helps, danny

if they were from a car that just came from japan, there could be a good chance there quality japanese forged rims. no idea as to what design it is though, sorry!

cheers for the feedback man, if you don't mind could you please pm me (or post up here) the price you paid for the dolly? i had a look few months back and it was gonna cost over $200 which is crazy, just the dolly and the buckets with grit guards were 120, which although quite nuts i would fork out for, but the shipping was like 150$ which is way too much. also what were the noticeable differences with the zaino wash? is it worth the extra coin? cheers, danny

Poll - Which Wheel Colour For R34 Gtt?
JGTC replied to V28VX37's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hey bud, personally in my opinion, white wheels look best on either white or strong coloured (e.g. blue, red, purple) cars, but black wheels look fantastic on any colour, especially weaker colours like grey or silver. i also think if you do re-spray them, get them powder coated professionally, and make sure you get a gloss on the colour, the matte look makes the wheels look a bit too DIY and tacky, i've seen it in person and i just think a gloss black is the best colour for GT-t wheels. oh and besides, any step towards the Z-tune is definitely a step in the right direction gloss black GT-t wheels all the best with it, make sure to post pics when your done! danny -
The V-spec and V-specII front bars feature the additional front diffuser at the front which channels air into the front and rear splitters which is also a plus over the standard GTRs
-
hey man, welcome to the forum, looks like a great buy, the GTV is the model to have, the series 2 interior are also a nice touch. Did you import it yourself? or get it from a dealer? if you want could you PM me how much you picked it up for without rego? cheers man all the best danny

Hey guys, this is our humble DIY and Detail attempt, we had a go at fabricating a dual-bucket dolly, aswell as a full hand detail of the car. we drew our inspiration from the double dollys that they sell in america: http://www.autogeek.net/double-dolly.html the crazy price and the rediculous shipping made it impossible to purchase from the states so we decided to give it a go supercheap auto had 20L industrial buckets for sale so my mate and i decided to have a crack at fabricating the dual-bucket dolly. we picked up two buckets, aswell a two sets of stands and wheels. took about an hour's worth of labour but we were pretty pleased with the result. we basically mounted the the buckets on the stands via some rope which we weaved through the holes we drilled in the buckets, the total cost was $32 and about an hours labour props to my mate jono who basically engineered the project as i am useless at DIY. your feedback is much appreciated as we are just rookies Ok next for show and tell, we gave my mate's 1994 BMW 320i E36 a decent going over The process 1. initial snowing and wash with Meguiars Gold Class wash - using the dual-bucket dolly system with moderately warm water via microfibre mitts. 2. the complete claying of the car, using Meguiars Quik Clay - this included all panels, glass and wheels. 3. Repeated the wash procedure indicated in step 1 4. went over the car with Meguiars Paint Cleaner to correct minor imperfections and to prepare the surface for Meguiars Deep Crystal Polish 5. Polished by hand using Meguiars Deep Crystal Polish, buffed off with Meguiars Quik Detailer 6. Repeat the wash procedure to remove any polish residue to prepare the surface for a layer of wax 7. 2 Layers of Meguiars Gold Class Liquid Wax, buffed off with Meguiars Ultimate Quik Detailer Here are the pics, comments and advice are again much appreciated - just bare in mind all products were applied by hand: We are hoping to move on to some better products (menzerna polishes and sealants, optimum waxes and clay magic clay bars) as we are just running through the remainder of our rookie product. We are also hoping to invest in a Festool Rotex or short of that a good quality Bosch orbital and getting into some real cut-compound polishes. Thanks a heap for reading guys, hope you enjoy the pics as much as we did taking them jonathan and daniel

R34 25gt Coupe Suspensions
JGTC replied to theponyremark's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
well both R33 GTSTs and R34 25GTs have the eyelet configuration on both front and rear struts, in theory they are exactly the same, perhaps you should take them to your nearest suspension/steering mechanic to try fit them? the shocks and springs you have posted up there are identical to the ones found in both R33 GTSTs and R34 25GTs, the only thing i can think that could be different would be the spring rates all the best with it, hope it works out
