I need to find a good machine man to do it. My fronts are off by 6mm and backs by 4mm. The spacers were taken off by the balance place. Very pissed off about that. Tom'sTyres in Rockingham. Not going there again. They cost me $ 200 already, and that is just to find out it wasn't the balance. So I will find out about the people that make spoacers and let everyone know, that is if someone already konows. Al

I did, Thanks you very much. I did just that, I argued the point. took the wheels of traced the barke/pads and that was that. Bendix book states that R34 brakes are made for R33 Skyline in 1988....... And that are the same for R32. That is wrong. THE thing is most places go by the book. And the Book is wrong. It is.

Guys , Taken the car to few places around town, tyre specialists and wheel alignment people. Found what the problem is. Please refer to the original subject. "MAG WHEEL SPACER" Every one that has third party mag wheels, needs to have this on the wheels. It is a plastic or metal ring. It helps keep the wheel in place on higher than 100k's.... My backs have 4mm and it is only noticable on those speeds. Now! This is what bad tyre places do. When they balance your tyres they don't put them back on, and throw them away..... In must cases so you keep commin back..... In few instances cose they don't know what it is.... When I found out I was furious......XXXXXXskjwcjh2erxukvb;cekv So i need to make the spacers somwhere.. PS The best solution when balancing is to balance tyres on car in motion.....] Only few places around town do that, and recomend you do that on performance models. This research went on for few weeks now..... So much from me. Al

Oh, whats the best place to machine your discs?

The guy tells me that those brakes won't fit on the R33 but will fit on R32 and R34. That is what the book tells them. So the question is: Do series from 32 to 33 and 34 have same size calipers and pads. I need to know this before I go and argue my point. Thanks Heaps guys Al

Ok, It's time to get serious... This seems to be a common problem with most our cars. I am experiencing such a n un-pleasure driving my car at the moment. We should all get together online and find a good place to eradicate this, Sounds like it is something to do with the car running over 110k mark. It would be great if we could get some help from SST or someone in the field of skylines, someone that can steer us in the right direction. I am sick of taking the car to tyre places and all they try to do is balance my tyres. I would like to know the technical aspect of this problem. If someone can tell me a reliable place of business that deals with these things I will go and find out what it is. The only problem is thrust. TNO!!! So I don’t think the tyre places are the way to go. They all want business. I don’t want to balance my wallet any more. I want to enjoy my ride. al

Sorry to hear that, My wife was in the shower when our house was broken in.... Some gold wen't missing etc..small things..... The guy was still in the house when she wen't out to the servo, we both came back and watched tv for 30min before going to the SkyShow. He bent the back security door of the bedroom to get out as he heard me go to the toilet. We didn't even hear anything. We do have now top of the line security monitored system with panic button. And a sharp object in every room ......

Interesting. But still not the answer to our prolems. I am thinking thers is a critical mas point to the car after 100k/. I had 225's front and back before, Kumos'. Drive was great. Now GoodYear.225 same. It was ok first 1000k's but now not even 2000 I have probs. Not meant to happen with new tyres. Any probs with tyres should show at least after 15 000k's .... I am going through process of elimination.

Guys I was told by all the tyre places and the mechanics that the suspension would not affect the steering, entire car would be affected. Not just an isolated steering problem. Most likely its the tyres. I have Goodyear, Venturas. $150each, brand new. Found out they have bumps in the circle fronface. When the wheel is rotating you can see the bumps on it. Even with the alignment done to 0.5g an all sides. I think I have crap tyres. It's gona be a Bad year with my GoodYEars. Hope I find something other than that solution. And guys my steering is critical, it shakes 1 to 2 cm on both sides. at 100-120...not drivable. Hope someone can recomend a good place. Al

I would like to know of a good , real good, specialist for these things.... Any ideas guys and girls? Al

Alignment is fine , In that case it would only make the car push left or the opposite on the straight... Depending on speed. I don't think the alignment would have anything to do with vibrations on steering at particular sped. If I am wrong please guys explain how that is possible. As the vibrations are on 100 sharp and constant after that. Alignment would affect it on lover speed... Yes?

Does your entire car shake?
-
Gavin, what is the prob with your steering? More exactly ..
-
I was told by a mechanic that the suspension wouldn't affect just a steering, but the whole car. So I am inclined to say wheels. It's only the steering that shakes at early100. Even thought it was my discs. But that would only affect breaking. So the steering would pull to the dirrection of the front disc that is not grinded as much. That's what I was told. I m getting the all machined and new brakes done aswell. Some sort of Bendix. Any advice on Bendix while we are on the subject. Bendix Advance front and rear plus all for machined disc's for $340. I think that sounds ok. What do you think? Al

Help with steering!!! Hi, I have just done wheel balance on my car on all 4 tyres. This has been done twice now at two different TyrePower shops. Resolution after $120 spent: The steering still shakes as soon as I hit 100km/h. I thought it was my tyres, I don’t know. I don’t remember hitting anything at all. So I don’t think it would be my mags. Possibly one of the tyres is defective, Front. Thinking if it is backs, the whole car would shake. So it must be fronts. Either front rubber is defective or the mags are buckled. The guys at TyrePower reckons that’s not the case. I don’t know what else could be the problem. Can you guys offer some sort of assistance even if it is a wheel specialist place. Thanks heaps. Al
