Item: 1994 Nissan GTIR Location: Canberra Item Condition: Excellent throughout Reason for Selling: Another car Price and Payment Conditions: 20,000 ONO, I am negotiable but dont give me unreasonable offers Contact Details: PM me, [email protected], or 0431 968 363 For sale is my white 1994 Nissan GTIR. The last year the GTIR was ever made. Below are the modifications done to the vehicle. All custom fabrication professionally made by reputable workshops. The vehicle has 125K kms, for which most were done on quiet Canberra highways. The car has not seen peak hour traffic. The vehicle is mostly driven on the weekends and has not been used as my main mode of transport for over 18 months. Oils have been regularly changed every 5000km. I am the first Australian owner [imported and purchased in 2002] and have always maintained the vehicle in perfect working order. I am selling the car as I have a new job and do not need to own 3cars. It shall be missed very much. This car is a perfect example of the Japanese rally beast. It has never been on the track, nor been dragged. The vehicle still has its 180kmh limiter. All modifications were upgrades to produce a faster car, yet maintaining a reliable vehicle. The car recently produced 220kw at all four wheels. It was professionally tuned by AUTOTECH, Sydney. Approximately 13K has been spent on this vehicle, not including original sale price of $25K. This car has always turned heads and is considered one of the better examples of the GTIR to be found. Be quick, this vehicle shall not last long. No joy riders or dreamers thanks. $20 000 or near offer. I am negotiable, however, I am not desperate to sell. hey ed. Im back in. Apologies for my spat. Hate companies that screw people around. However, as you said, youve already paid for them outta your own money. So I aint here to stuff you about. Looking forward to being part of the team once again Phil M

If this is how the maker/supplier treats his customers...how do any of us know that the product we will be getting isthe quality they claim. Im out. I want my wheels staying ON the car. For the extra 80bucks or so to get Rays wheel nuts. At least I'll know they are tried and proven. Phil M

Its not just cars Andrew, its drugs, age of consent, adoption rights, standards of offences and so on. Its the unfortunate side-effect of independent states. Its funny how an imaginary line can change someones rights, liberties etc.

Love it? Id like to see your face when they then give you a defect notice even if you have an engineers certificate. Which they still have every right to do so. Their reasoning: they are not engineers and do not have the quals to verify the certificate... here is a defect notice so you can go to someone who does underdstand your notice. [the RTA]. I wouldnt be too coy with that attitude, theyll bitchslap for the sake of it. Also, anything that changes the air:fuel, thus the emissions in the car is illegal [ie boost controllers] unless verified that the emissions are still within the parameters ofteh stock vehicle.

lol. I have the power, But Id rather control the power, rather than be a fool and let the power control me :> Phil M

Id assume that sustained would be considered a deliberate attempt AND no genuine attempt by the driver to stop the vehicle from doing a burnout. ie. high revs, big launch, accelerating with brake on, not stop immediately from doing a burnout [if it was an 'accident' and so on. Most of us know when we see a car doing a burnout in the streets if he is doing it deliberately or not [consider the principle of the 'reasonable person']. So why wouldnt the police? Phil M

I still find it soooo hard to believe that you guys that just happen to have your car impounded due to a 'faint mark' on the road? ROAD TRANSPORT LEGISLATION AMENDMENT ACT 2000 - SECT 2 subsection 5B, burnout legally means 'a sustained loss of traction from one or more wheels' this deifintion is essentially the same for NSW. Now, a 'faint mark on the road' doesnt not constitute as a sustained action. Yeah, maybe a chirpy or premature release of the clutch or something. Division 2.3 goes on the explain impounds, and gives similar reference points to NSW Act. Interestingly, it states in in s10(B), that a cop can impound ur car if on the road or any other public place, however, if your car is on private property, they can only impound it through the court, as covered in s10(a). “10B Powers of police officers to seize and impound vehicles used in committing certain offences (MTA s 139K, NSW RT(Gen) s 39) “(1) A police officer may seize a motor vehicle if— (a) the police officer believes on reasonable grounds that the vehicle is being or has (on that day or during the past 10 days) been used by a person in committing an offence against section 5A (Races, attempts on speed records, speed trials etc) or 5B (Burnouts and other prohibited conduct); or (B) the vehicle is subject to impounding or forfeiture under section 10A (Impounding or forfeiture of vehicles used in committing certain offences). So yeah, personally, you guys that have had ur car impounded aint as innocent as you'd like to make out on here. Phil M

Thats why you buy a GTIR and have no problems with 'losing traction'. Phil M

hey Im after the front lip. What type of condition is it in? Ill buy it plus postage to Canberra. That would be excellent. Phil M -
Ther other thing is. The cops just dont go around and consficate anything that anyone tells them is doing the wrong thing. As part of the burnout rules, they compile evidence against the suspect UNTIL they have enough to do something about it. This includes community complaints, undercover cops cruising at braddon, hume or wherever just to gather intel, ie number plates, mod's etc. Then once your number comes up a few times more than normal, thats when they should/would pay you a visit. It is just like any other sort of investigation. If it was a simple case of a person calling to complain, society would turn on itself and havoc wouldnt be too far away. Just because you dont know whats happening behind the scenes, doesnt mean they do not have a file with your name on it. Id tell your mate to have a good long think about his past actions over the last few months. Where has he been, what has he been doing. Cops aint idiots, nor are the tools they use to get people.

Still EAGER for the front splitter :) Phil M -
Id write a personal letter to the comissioner. Get the ID numbers for the police involved and start it that way. All letters to the commi must be looked into, as stated in the Police Act.

So whos the lucky one that personally hands in 1650 bucks to the Red Cross to walk away with a receipt of that amount and then has the opportunity to claim that amount for themselves in this years tax return?
