No you couldnt hold it to it. Seeing as Allhomes.com.au arent the ones selling it, they are just an independent advertising medium. They offered a 5 bedroom, 2.5storey house in Red Hill for $650 late last year. I rang the agency [no harm in trying] they were quite annoyed at the blunder seeing as I wasnt the first to call them about it

Hey, Nah Im talking about the front lip on the GTR R32.

Been there man, had ABC TV do some filming of me getting defected as part of the police/rtas 'Summer Blitz' of 2003. Wasn't impressed, particularly when the inspector told me I was 93dB, but once I got to work and looked at the defect notice he put I was 110dB. With gangs and stuff as suggested, thats the reason I think a few guys, including myself now, keep what they got under the bonnet close to their hearts, and not become show-ponies the moment someone takes a little interest.

Canberra Times. For Sale: 'Dear Police, RTA Inspectors, hoons, and other trouble makers, a bunch of skyline fellas will be at point A, B, and C at such n such times. If you wish to defect, tow away, and ruin their day, please feel free to come along. They will also have membership forms for all, and if you wish to donate to their defect removal bucket, please do so.' :Paranoid: N yes, I am aware that cops etc read these types of forums too :elaugh:

ACT Roads brings out a manual you can purchase, [its the same manual used by the inspectors] its called 'ACT Guide to Light Vehicle Modifications' or something similar. But yes, anything that isnt stock can be defected.
-
Thanks man, A tirpod will only be best used if the light is low and you have your camera [sLR] on a shutter speed of less than 1/30. Meaning the lower the shutter speed, and longer the shutter will stay open, and if your holding your camera and you move ever so slightly you'll blur the pic. But it all depends on the day.
-
Guys just a suggestion with your photos. Ive been reading that youll be taking them around midday... dont. If you want decent pics, try mid-late afternoon. The light is low, minimal shadowing, and if taken correctly the even the most dirtiest car can look like a deep colour. Or if the quite an over-cast day... then any time will do. The other thing is, get down to the level of the car itself. Its crazy to stand up and take the pic, your results will make the car look small and weak, by getting down and taking the pics at the height of the car will make the car look like the beast it is. Depending on who you talk to, some people like flash, others dont. If your camera is able to be manualised, Id suggest no flash, but increase the duration the lens stays open. [even use a tripod if you have one] If you want the flags to stand out or anything else in the background and your camera allows it, increase the depth of field. If you want that blurred background effect decrease it. Same goes with those pics with the cars all lined up... to make sure the last car is reasonably clear as well, youll need high depth of field [again, if your camera can do it] But all-in-all, lighting is your priority. Youll just need to look in a car mag and see the differences in lighting used. Those deep, crystal clear, no shadow professional pics usually are made first thing at sunrise or last thing sunset. Those pics with the harsh contrast, big undercar shadows and glaring sun reflections on the body are usaully done at midday when the sun aint your friend. Hmm, my website shows what I mean about low level lighting... all the pics at the airport were taken at 730pm during day light saving, and the gold pics were created at 6pm daylight saving too [the gold is due to the smoke of the big bushfires] www.geocities.com/gtir_94/GTIR.html just some advice if your after something spesh oh yeah, IF you ever do take pics under flouro white lights without a flash, ie, undercover areas and carparks, youll get nasty green effect. So use your flash. Edit: Spose I better put a disclaimer before someone takes my post the wrong way or want to prove something...Im not a pro, I do photography as part of my forensic degree, and have done different experiments over years with my cars and different lighting and angles etc. A good example of lighting is the pics that [i think] Shell posted of the skyline meet sometime ago.... The top pic, its cloudy, the cars look deep, and everything has a flow about it... the bottom pic [with the R31] has the sun smashing onto it, and the shadowing under the cars and the sun relfection just makes the pic look cheap.

I assume with that comment, you have tried all other dumps, including dyno readings etc, and also compared the Jap stuff to CES for quality?
-
www.nismo.com.au [unquie autosports] have decent looking dumps, front pipes etc. Not bad price either
-
Simple, compare the flange on those pics with that of your stock ones. They are almost paper thin in comparison. Thats just what you can see in those pics. Just because something in a pic looking pretty doesnt mean it worth s#%t But as I said, Ive dealt with them, I wasnt and others werent satisfied. I have $840 of tin crap sitting on my shed floor because of my stupdity. Its your money do what you want with it.
-
HAHAHAHA.... Blitz, PLEASE go and buy their CRAP. I have personally dealt with CES and so have 3 other people I know who are not happy at all with their product. Congrats to whoever organised the group buy. All Im doing is commenting to others who Im sure would like to know before they fork out over $600 about my own experiences with CES quailty, not 'a mate I know' or 'a guy who I was speaking to', but MY OWN experience. Its all about freedom of information Blitz. Do with it what you will. I was once suckered into a 'group buy' with CES and got burnt for it, and so did others I know. So if you dont want to hear about what I have to say, go elsewhere. And hey IF I did 'trash it' it would be saving quite a few people hundreds, from buying such quailty. If you want thin tin, and flanges not even up to the strength and size of the stock ones, buy CES. If you want work done, and have a say with the quailty at type of product, go to a reputable exhaust shop and get something made up for your personal car.
-
Im a little confused with what Im about to say, so dont take it as gospel. But I think if you actually hop into your car as the inspector is still writing you a ticket and drive off they cannot give you a ticket. You have until they push the button [on the electronic ticket processors] until that ticket is vaild. Again, Im not sure if that is entirely true or if it just applies to certain states. Thanks Ray Martin and your 'special investigation' into parking tickets a few years back on ACA.
-
Not prob's. I understand they wouldve had more experience with skylines than GTIRs. But it was the build quality as well. Cheap tin, cheap flanges. In the long term after showing CES quailty to other exhaust shops they said it 'would do the job' but 'youll be coming back to get it replaced..' $800 or $600. CES aint worth the trouble.

man you gotta grow up a bit. The whole 'i got more mates than you, so shut up' is crap. Who does he need to apologise to? you? Who did you need to prove your manhood to? Your mum sitting in the car, im sure she wouldve been just as proud if you got into your car, shook your head at their stupidity and drove off. But no, you potentially couldve harmed them because you felt you lost face at the car wash. People like the ones hooting at you do it for the attention, and you gave them that. Drive off next time, and who do they have to shit stir now? no one. Who wins? you.

"My main concern is that this is the start of road rage where people are being inconsiderate towards other, I had done nothing to this person) they arrived about 3 minutes after me) nor had I ever seen them before, they were just being prats." ...Interesting comment about rage rage seeing as YOUR the one that started the verbal abuse, and YOUR the one that called up your mates to physically harm the horn blowers, thus you would be the one with the charge not the horn blowers. And your comment about 'not getting plates'? Who cares, they pressed their horn, on private property. whoopy doo, I wouldnt call it road rage, id call it stupidity. If anyone is the 'road rage[r]' its you.

There is always a happy story from these 'bad cop' ones. I just [5minutes ago] left a cop who had pulled me over for doing in excess of 150kmh down the parkway. He was a sargent, old man. Gave me a talk of how its bad to speed, 'though from the looks of your car, its built for it...' 'I dont care what you do in the dry, just dont let me see those types of speeds in the wet ok?' God love him.

If you have just purchased the car change everything; oil, oil filter, fuel filter, spark plugs etc. Who knows when or sometimes IF these have ever been changed. Have you done a compression test on the car ? With such high boost, and a Mines computer, who knows if you have piston trouble or similar. The Mines computer Id suggest is leaning the car, NOT making it rich. Jap fuel is 100RON and cooler ambient temps... having a Mins comp in a Aussie car with lower octane fuel and hotter temps, your not giving the car the correct mixture in relation to what the Mines wants your car to have. I wouldnt go hammering your car until you get it sorted. You say your car jerks sometimes? Again, it could be getting plently of air but not enough fuel.. not good. So id look at fuel filter, maybe getting your injectors cleaned, lowering your boost, chucking the Mines comp. Hmm, what type of fuel regulator do you have? be worth checking that out too, it may not be delivering the fuel you need. Would be worth putting in on a dyno, just to see where things are at also.
-
You say you have 3in exhaust? Does that include your dump-pipe also? If not, you can find quite nice low-end gains by getting your dump done, as most cast dumps are quite restrictive. What GT28 do you have? 300, 350, 400 440hp? if you have the a higher hp rated one you wont get that low-end grunt. From what I understand the Mine's computers are tuned for Japanese conditions NOT Aussie conditions, ie japanese fuelling [higher RON], Aussie weather is hotter than Jap, therefore, less dense air, so it all maybe out of whack. Have you and your bro swapped cars and seen if its not the driver [ie, you] holding your cars potential back. If your bro gets the same result as you in your car and visa versa, then you can definately blame the car Also, not knowing the wieght of the MX6, maybe its lighter than your car, and can get off the mark easier. As revhead mentioned your car should get there in the end.

Performance mods for jap cars in Canberra
gtir_94 replied to Contempt's topic in Australian Capital Territory
MING is now called DTS. [went past to show a mate where NOt to take his car a cpl of days ago] and im not just talking about plugs..... installation and tuning of unichip , exhaust, and THEN minor things. while your car is there it 'just happens' to have EVERYTHING fail on it, therefore they keep it for a couple more days [instead of the quoted and normal standard of a few hours] and charge you for it [the three occasions I had my car there, all three times my car had a heart attack apparently, and they were just the docotrs to fix it.. funny how I drove it there in perfect running order]. A $250 tune they attempted to take over $700 from me. After expressing Ill only pay $250 as they made a verbal contract with me stating thats how much a tune will cost, they didnt complain when thats all the money I sent. Now what does that say? Did they knew they were trying to rip me off and got caught...Id say yes, or Im sure they would of pursued the rest. IF MING did the job they were suppose to, I would of happliy paid the full amount. But the fact they gave me my car back with over 35kw less because they couldnt find out why it was leaning out, hence de-tuned it, and when I suggested Ill buy a bigger fuel pump to accomodate they told me I was stupid and fuelling wasnt the issue, 'but leave it with us for a couple more days' [bought myself an uprated fuel pump, installed it, problem solved] Basic science, I had more air therefore I needed more fuel.. simple combustion. But anything thats not straight out the APS [unichip] handbook, Pat and his gimps find a little bit too complex. Now my exhaust.... little apprentice boy welded a 2.25in flex onto my 3in system, no wonder my exhaust twisted and snapped under the dump [lets not talk about the potential restriction issue] ....little apprentice boy also angle-grinded my exhaust brace off [who knows why] and solid mounted my front exhaust to my chassis. little apprentice boy then proceeded to change all my back rubber hangers to longer ones, so my muffler swings like crazy and knocks/vibrated on my rear diff, and all I wanted was a 3in cat installed. -

MING is absolute crap. [no wonder they changed their name] too my car there once , and stupid enough to take it there again. The old man Pat watches as they apprentices do all the work. I needed to sent him a 20page letter with technical info on why the spark plugs he put in my car were the wrong ones, plus other things.... Now I know my car better, I vow not to get ripped off by wankers like that again. -
HAHA oh man, I just read the first thread of this and started thinking to myself 'I wonder if the ute had the plates SS-353...then read a little further to reveal it did He is one crazy bogan that guy, and that aint the first time he has jumped the median strip..I was behind him going down the parkway to tuggers, and he couldnt get past the traffic, so like any reasonable intelligent guy would do, he hangs it to the left and floors it, the freakin ute is almost on a 30deg hill going past the traffic.... I get through the traffic eventually and what do I see, him doing it again in the distance lol.

A 5 minute trip from red rooster to erindale shops last week in the rain, 8 separate guys had it out sideways through the round-a-bouts in the area, one nearly clipping me going i nthe other direction..... But more of a warning to guys down south, over the last few weeks Ive noticed sand covering oil on the roads in some streets n near round-a-bouts. Looks like there may be some wankers putting it on the road for their own personal enjoyment.
