Of course sourcing an engine in the next 12 months will be almost impossible. However, in 4-5 years time, with many R35s out here on the road and track, being written off/smashed up, no doubt engines will become available. But forget warranty. Won't happen. Just imagine putting one of these engines in a R32gtst or S13-S15 - lighter cars by some way compared to the R35 - and you could keep the engine bog stock (no epa/police issues) and you would have the ultimate 10 sec sleeper. Or drifter. Or showcar. Yum.

Fell asleep half way through the Falcodore comparison. Who won? Am I right in reading it was a tie? Are they both the best cars on the face of the planet? Please can SBS just run repeats of the UK version. Or 1.5 hrs of Southpark? Or the satellite image? Seriously.

It was rubbish. Imitation is the greatest form of flattery but seriously - they tried to copy the BBC product to the letter; even down to having a short Hammond-like presenter, a 'Captain Slow' in Wazza Brown and a try-my-hardest-to-be-Clarkson bloke. And what a way to capture viewer interest from the get-go - have a comparison on Soft Roaders. Yay. Would have much rathered SBS just keeping on the repeats of the real thing. And as for next week's Holden vs Ford jokefest - if I wanted to hear about how much better Commodores are than Ferraris, Porsches and any Japanese car I would just buy Wheels or Motor. Won't last - unless shedloads of bogans get behind it.

Porsche shouldn't be the only ones worried. The GTR price point will undercut or be on par with the W427 from Holden (not mentioning the M3 or C63). Seriously, who would even contemplate the Holden? Its acceleration and quarter mile times are the same as a bog stock R32 GTR, which is now 19 years old. In a bang for buck comparison, the R35 will absolutely destroy the Commodore. I think the only one who can sort the Porsche vs GTR debate is the Stig; give him each car in question and get Clarkson's comments at the end - it would also be one of the top rating Top Gear episodes ever, I believe.
