  1. My HICAS light kept coming on after about 15mins of driving. I think it was becuase the wheel was not properly aligned. I re-aligned it this avo, lets hope it fixed the problem...
  2. just did a search and found this thread... i am about to goto Sydney on friday and need to sort out a spare rim. The AU will fit a 32 GTST ?? Is the AU spare a space saver ?? I am finding it hard to find a spare from a 32/33 from wreckers around here and was thinking it might be easier going for the AU rim....
  3. I am definately in!!!! i went to dc last year and i enjoyed it more than jamboree, besides the rain on the first day. Hopefully the turnout is better, and faster next year!!!
  4. I am not sure how different the 33 is but... I just fitted a new momo wheel to my 32 on Christmas day. The stock wheel had the two wires running from the horn button - one went to ground in the steering wheel and the other went to the power supply behind where the wheel goes on. The momo button has 2 connections - one for power and one for ground. The power one goes in the centre of the button and the ground is the one near the side, with that symbol printed on it. I was in a bit of a dilema on where to put the ground because there was no connections for it like the stock wheel had. I just stripped the wire and wrapped it around (under) the main bolt which fixes the boss kit on. Then fastened the bolt on. It works fine. I HAD to get it to work because I fitted airhorns about 2 months ago Do you have airbag? not sure why there is five wires there...
  5. yes indeed jealousy is a curse. I had an egg thrown at my car one night when it was parked outside my ex girlfriends house (on a main rd). They actually pulled over and tooted the horn, we looked out the window but couldnt really see thru bushes, and didnt bother checking up on it. Found out later when I went to go home....
  6. if you really want a shopping trolley, then you could go and flog one from the shopping centre and save a bit of money /jk whatever blows ya hair back, if you're happy i'm happy
  7. I dont think i have come across somebody who hates the skyline, only a few ppl dislike them that i know of
  8. I enjoy doing basic servicing on my car. I have learnt a bit about it along the way and have also saved a fair amount of money in doing so...
  9. haha, yeah i guess they are giving the credit card a floggin
  10. I just got a new wheel & boss kit from santa yesterday and fitted it. I installed it yesterday but my wheel isnt at dead centre, i think its about 1 knotch out, and the HICAS light comes on after about 10-15mins of driving. Something to do tomorrow i guess, is re-align the wheel, and hope that the light doesnt come back on.... the boss kit is a HKB one, and i hope that it is the right one....
  11. haha calvintys, u better get that GTR... I have always loved the skyline ever since 90/91 at Bathurst, and my Dad's mate worked at a Nissan dealership and would always say how good the cars were and especially how well built the RB was. The main parts are the lines, the tail lights, the power output in stock form, the huge range of aftermarket parts, the reliability, the comfort. Well advanced compared to what is offered in an aus built car thats 10 years old. Oh and Hippy, I do agree with ur comment about people dont wanna cut you off on the road.
  12. I bought mine with 101 000 on the clock and got the timing belt done. The mechanic said it was its first belt (becuase it was so shagged) so there is a good chance the km's are geniune. Now there is 123 000 ks on the clock. I have driven about 20 000ks in about 8 months, so my new years resoultion is to start catching the bus to work and leave the car at home to keep the ks down. I also had to get the castor bushes replaced because they were leaking oil. Couldnt notice any handling difference because I only had the car a day when I got the work done. Other problems with it were the clutch (general wear & tear I'd say) and a couple of exhaust manifold studs missing. Other than that, i think its a healthy RB20. Changed the plugs a couple of days back (about 30 000ks old) and they seemed to be in pretty good condition (all had the same sort of wear). /end rant
  13. hmmmm RB25DET in my 32..... i wish
  14. I have a mate who has a 2.8 Turbo Deisel, he picked it up for about $13 000. Its blue, and clean. I dont think he has had any worries with it besides from when he ran up the a$$ of an excel. A bit of a bent front bar. The excel was r00ted.
  15. Thanks heaps for the feedback guys, i am definately gonna get some windex on the windows. Meguiars make the clay bar. Use it with quick detailer and it strips everything off back to the clear coat, ready for a protective coat of wax.
  16. also check under the guards and wheel wells for bits of rust. Imports from snowy areas in Japan tend to have rust becuase of the salt they put on the roads....
  17. I was at a set of lights one night and had a 33 gtst driver ask me if my car was a GTR, i said 'nah its a GTS-t' and his mrs replies 'is it turbo?' and me and my mate are like WTF???
  18. Yeah IVS and SVI are two different companies. One has a pretty poor reputation and the other i havent heard any bad stories about....
  19. Hey all just wondering what you like to wash/wax/polish/detail ur car and if there is any secrets that you are willing to spare. first off i am using only Meguiars gear for the wash/wax, I am very happy with it, but I am wondering if there is any other stuff out there that is better?? I use the pink soft wash gel for the wash. - found it pretty good for removing general dirt and grime. For the wheels i use Meguiars Acid free wheel cleaner. (just spray on wait 30sec and wash off - removes brake dust easily) I use So Easy Wet Look (i think CRC make it) tyre shine. Just spray on and leave it. its not too bad, but comes off if it rains. This is the only tyre shine that I have bought, any other recommendations would be great. A good synthetic chamois for the dry. (plas chamois) Meguiars quick wax (spray on stuff) using a yellow applicator pad to apply and terry towling to wax off. I have tried the gold class stuff (my old man's) once and was pretty impressed with it, but found it very similar to the quick wax (which is a bit cheaper). Also use eagle one (rainX equivalent) windscreen protectant. not too bad but i think rainX is better. I do not rate the Armourall glass cleaner quick wipes, did not get too many results with them. I am happy with armourall for the dash, but is there any other stuff out that is better? A friend of mine bought the meguiars clay block with the quick detailer. This revives the paint by stripping all of the dirt and grime back to the clear coat. he is pretty happy with it.
  20. I love cruising with other skylines
  21. Yeah i usally go for the 10% should be good rule of thumb. I think its a bit of a crunt act for you to get booked for doing 3k over in a 60 zone.
  22. I have used the hair dryer before, and it can work on newer stickers. For others you can try Desolve-it or prepsol. I have taken off my nissan and GTS-t stickers off the bootlid of mine but there is still one 'powered by' above the nissan one that i took off. i think it has a clear coat over it and will need a respray when i take my wing off and get the lid fully sprayed....
  23. Wig out - do u mean it means getting ripped? I always thought it was like surfie lingo, like go stupid, go nuts.... anyways this thread should be moved to a different section???
