Thanks for that.
According to the book at the tyre dealer the difference in diameter between both sizes is 4mm. You get more difference than that between a new and worn tyre so it should be ok I guess.
It time to get some new rubber on the beast.
At the moment Im running 225*45*17 all round.
(I think the wheel size is 17*7.5jj)
For some weird reason I suffer from a lack of traction at times...
Anyone got any recommendations on what size tyres to put on?
Would 245*40*17 all round be a decent choice?
or prehaps 245*40 at the rear and 225*45 at the front?
Or am I just better sticking with 225*45 all round?
I was driving through the mountains on Sunday following a Black R32GTR.
Everytime it accelerated it was blowing black smoke.
Just curious as to whats that usually mean?
lol Zebbie
Ummm real long shot here, but possibly someone tried to install one of those beepers that remind you that the lights have been left on but wired it up wrong bhy mistake?
Nah its a manual not a wussbox
Ummm.. Im in Bathurst which is about 700 - 800m higher than you Sydney guys if that makes much of a difference. (I know it did years ago back in the Dark ages of carbys)
Hi Guys,
I finally had my car on the Dyno today.
Im a little dissapointed to be honest, I thought it would be a bit better than this.
Car is an R34 GTT
3 inch Exahust turbo back
Trust Pod filter
Greddy Front mount intercooler
E-Boost at 9psi
Rest is stock.
As you can see from the dyno pic there is horrible stuff happening to the power curve.
Im lead to belive that is caused by the stock computer getting upset at 9psi of boost. This sound right?
Im getting a Apexi Power FC installed in a few weeks.
Boost will be incresed then too. Whats a safe level btw? (Ive been told 12 to 14psi).
Anyone want to hazard a guess at what improvment I should see?
Any suggestions on what else to do?

There is an easy (and cheap) solution.
You can get a handy little frequency converter that plugs in between the antenna and the radio.
It converts all the frequencies (shifts them up or done) so they match the Japanese range the radio recieves.
I have it in mine and it works quite well, the only flaw is that the radio still displays the jap frequency so for example 105 may display as 97
So,
ABS should still work fine, but no one is sure about Traction Control if a Microtech is used?
Does anyone know of a replacement ECU that will definatly allow traction control to still function?
Probably a stupid question but I was just wondering if you replace the standard R34 GTT ECU with something like a Microtech do you loose traction control and ABS?
(Important to me since the wife drives the car too )
Has two annoying things as well.
One is a stupid noise it makes under no or low engine load ever since I had the E boost fitted. (really annoys the wife)
Listen to it here
http://www.cwp.id.au/skylinenoise.mpg (1.47mb)
The other tink is it seems to loose power for a sec at around 5000rpm when the boost is on or over about .7 bar (I suspect that this wont be an issue when the new computer is fitted)
As I said they were "under lights" so yeah their lights were on, and siren as well.
Just curious as to what they were actually allowed to do speed wise.
Whatever they feel like?
