My 2c buy a new corolla, deal with it for however long, and invest the other money. sell the corolla and get a GTR. you shouldn't lose to much on the car and its not like you wouldn't find a buyer for a 3-5yr old corolla. hopefully you could make a bit of money on the other money to buy the gtr.

I heard this today at work, we spent ages trying to find more info, as we are a cricket loving office. Sad news, very very sad news.

Im 20 and purchased a NA because of the Power/Weight laws, I could have easily got a gtst, but didn't. My skyline is a huge jump in power over my old car(which i still have btw), so i appreciate it even more. Laws are there for a reason. Even if you dont understand why, but we all know why. I see p plated gtstgtr as well as other High powered cars eg. V8s all the time, and i will say with experience they think they are better drivers than everyone else on the road. This is about state of mind. I would never get something as powerful as a gtr and not have any form of safe practice in it, thats just stupid. Public roads aren't controlled, and accidents do happen.

shame about the car. ld be interested to find out about insurance and whether they will actually pay up. 20 yr old (Ps i assume) in melb, driving a high powered car, while speeding. Not to sound nasty, but i could see you losing your license and not getting anything from the insurance.

well it looks like im the first to drive a "legal" car. i came from driving an old vk commodore PoS, my NA is more than enough atm powerwise. BUT that said im prolly gonna get a gtst when im off my p's anyway. Im also glad i did get the NA as i have already been checked for the turbo on p's, and my lack of cash wouldn't have agreed with the fine.

siksII, two points for you, i didn't drive it for 3 days . I feel rather stupid, i took it for a nice drive, gave it a bit now she sounds nice. No more noise etc. I didn't think that leaving the car for a couple of days could do something like that, oh well, now i know. thanks for the swift replies everyone.

ok, well i checked the oil yesterday and today, both times it looks fine. oil gauge is normal. i might take it to a mechanic today and see what they say. the weird thing is once you get to a rev range say 4000, and just ignore the sound it goes away slightly. dunno if that makes sense.

ok heres the story yesterday i started my car and on idle it started making this ticking noise. The noise was loud enough to bring my parents out to enquire. i've done some searching thru the forums and all i can come up with is tappets or injectors. heres the thing would it just happen one day? the noise is related to revs. and sounds like the car was just cold but is like 10 times louder than normal, and stays around when warm. any ideas?
