EF Turbo bought as daily when I 1st popped the motor in the GTR. Sold it 6 months later. BA XR6 Turbo bought as daily after I lost my licence for 18 months. Played with it till it ran 11s then sold to a bloke in northern suburbs. Bought my current AU Fairmont 5.0L wagon on gas 2 years ago and don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon.

The 1st time I put my engine back together I did it without the front cover. When I fired it up I heard a funny noise which turned out to be the cas or one of the bolts rubbing on the timing gear. So yes you need the cover or you can run spacers like I do.

I have those lines sitting in my bay too and have never bothered to trace where they actually go. Nothing seems to come out of them so I just left them.

If you can get a hold of an RB25 NEO out of an R34 you should be able to slap that in and make 300hp easy. As Ben said, have a search through the RB25 thread to get an idea of mods and power.

I'd just leave it. I always over fill mine since it's mainly used on the track but it doesn't hurt it driving on the street.
