So I drove to Apollo Bay yesterday, took The Great ocean Road on the way. The traffic was horrible so if you're going to do it make sure you go early morning.
Hey mate, the relay is for the fuel pump as it is now hard wired to the battery.
The bracket holding the battery down is just one I whipped up with some steel bar I had laying around.
I fill up in Cranbourne on the way and take 3 jerry's just in case.
Usually if I fill up there I can do the 1st 2 sessions with what's left in the tank.
The other 2 jerry's will get me through the day and leave me with almost enough fuel to drive back out west depending on how much track time I get.
Same thing happened when I changed the oil in my Falcon the other day. I just through it in the she'll be right basket.
It still see's limiter daily and sounds fine but if you;re really worried get the oil tested or take it somewhere to have them listen for knock.
I know how you feel, I have a mate that has just completed an LS1 S14 build which is farking awesome. It's just as fast as my car, sounds awesome, is clean and reliable but at the end of the day I still love jumping in the GTR and hearing it scream.
If I had my time again and $50K sitting around I would probably buy a really clean 33 for around $30 and pump $20K into it.
A dirty big single would be at the top of my list.
If you don't intend to run that much boost then it would be fine but I don't see that happening if you're building the engine.
Maybe you need to talk to another parts provider.
