  1. Come on guys, i'm sure there is someone out there after a gtr project.
  2. Come on guys, i'm sure someone needs a new project car or a power fc for theirs.
  3. No one after a new project?
  4. Nah sorry mate, don't want to have to strip anything off the engine.
  5. The bores aren't standard. They're 1mm over.
  6. Not interested sorry mate. The only thing i would be up for swaps is an XR6 Turbo.
  7. Ok guys, so the time has come to sell my GTR and all the parts. 1st of all: Gunmetal Grey 1989 R32 GTR For Sale. $10500 ONO VIC Rebuilt bottem end. Couple of minor dints that will come out. Rota P45's with Kumo KU36's with less than 1000km's on them. $2000 Power FC with hand controller $1000 ono Engine dampener new in box $80 Standard suspension with a set of HKS front springs. Make an offer Crank collar also brand new $60
  8. No, never opened up the motor so I'm not sure. Don't have the time or money for it any more.
  9. Cars back up for sale guys. Also plenty of spare parts Including a set of new Rota P45's with Kumo KU36's Power FC with hand controller Engine dampener Standard suspension plus more
  10. The ecu was a power fc and no it wasnt bouncing off the limiter. It held those revs for a couple of secends then he backed off. The block was cleaned fairly well as its not the 1st engine ive built but there are a few things that may have givin me contamination. The only thing is the car was driven around for a couple of weeks without a problem before anything happened. Also the car was driven for a day or 2 after it saw the high rpm and it drove without a problem. As DVSR32 said i should check the oil to maybe find out what the cause was. Not sure as to where i can get this done or how it works exactly but i would really like to find the cuase of my problem. Maybe i should ask for a 8000rpm- 8500rpm rev limit just in case to help save the engine from the high revs.
  11. I think either contamination or tolerances would be the cause of my engine failure and the engine only did about 500km before it was put on the dyno and it wasn't really babied in that time.
  12. I know its good pricing and i know what the parts are worth, its more the labour i cant afford. Im considering pulling out the engine myself, getting them to build it and putting it back in myself to save a bit on labour. So much to consider. Im not actually sure what oil was in it because racepace changed it when they did the tune.
  13. Also i got quoted close to 10,000 from racepace to do the whole lot which i think included a new block as mines already been bored 40 thou. That was engine in and out, pretty much a whole new bottom end and a retune.
  14. Yer I know the oil pump is one of the cheapest parts, i just hope its not another part ill have to replace, just like the crank because that was a new R33 item aswell. I would give it to a builder but i dont really have the thousands it costs in labour to get done. I know its a risk to do it myself but im going to give it one last try. Id just really like to know what the cause was so i could fix it for this time around. I guess time will tell.
  15. Well your right, it could have spun to 10,000 for all i know and im not sure if there was a limit so id have to ask racepace. The engine is going to be stripped and rebuilt again so hopefully by then i can get some proper gauges and get it checked. Not sure as to whether things like that can be checked with a power fc.
  16. Well the engine was built at home so what ever is wrong with it is most likely going to be my fault. Racepace has done nothing wrong, after the tune, when the car was running it was beautiful. I was in the passenger seat and was watching the tacho as it came on boost in 3rd in the wet and it was around 9000rpm. The oil pump was a brand new n1 unit so i hope that didnt fail. It has a power fc and im not sure if it even has a rev limit. With the standard engine and ecu it would go a lil past 8000rpm but would sound like absolute shit and go nowhere but that was only tried once.
  17. The engine was brand new, It had done less than 1000km and had only been tuned at racepace 3 or 4 weeks beforehand so that was the only spirited driving it had seen. The nose was pointed up when it started. The high revs were done 2 or 3 days before the bearing span and it had been driven normaly between then and always warmed up.
  18. I slight incline but not very steep. It was always parked there and started there.
  19. A few months back i spun some bearings in the bottom of my RB26, the thing is it happened in the driveway when i started it and went to move it. However a couple of days ealier i came on boost in the wet and the engine spun to around 9000rpm, just curious as to whether this may have been the cause of the bearings letting go a couple of days later. The engines is balanced and tuned if that makes any difference.
  20. Cheers mate, lets just hope it all works out this time.
  21. If i bougt another gtr for 13000 id be back to square one with a standard car. This car already has everything i need. I can get away with it for around $2000
  22. Well hopefully not too much as everything is already done, just need new bearings, re-do the crank and check if there is any other damage.
  23. It still has rego but sorry guys i think im gunna keep it. Gunna try my luck at building her again.
