I Need A Tunable Ecu For My Rb26, Whats The Best ?
EFI Performance replied to 555kkk's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Wolf V500 do. Vi-PEC is designed by RAY HALL who helped do the "manual" for autronic ECU. Great ecu, easy to use, tech support is great just alittle more advanced than SM4 autronic. All ECU have there pro's and con's. -
He properly wanted more info from the dyno tuner though, otherwise he wouldnt be on here asking for advice...

Be interesting to know the fuel flow on this car??????? Flow Vs pressure, you say aftermarket reg?? hope its not a ebay reg and is it 1.1 ratio???
-
Sorry mate. I get 1000 email's a day, i hope i replyed, if not you can pm me on here. Cheers WHITEY

We do them mate. Type two for R32 are $395incl GST plus dyno time ontop.

Attention All Import/mechanic Shops - Will Do Free Labour!
EFI Performance replied to ae86 boy's topic in Queensland
PM sent mate. Maybe we can help. Cheers -
Not too sure, i just got feed back from other member's on other forum's of other performance shop's doing this. I guess it wouldnt hurt to ask the shop who undertakes your tune.
-
Yeh it's pretty sad. sad to so alot of car lovers out there getting ripped off.
-
Yer nar that's noting to pay when your looking at 170+ an hr for a tune ect. I also added this thread on other forum's to see what comment's we got, seem's that some big performance shop's are doing this i.e G&D performance, HP-F and M.K automotive to name afew. it's great to see this customer sevice quality being preformed.
-
Yer but not every person is mechanicaly minded and or can even preform any of these check's. You would be surpriced, after owning a performance shop for 18month's now the thing's that i have heard compaired to the outcome are amazing. i.e. the guy told me there were new, said the injector's were serviced, it is a genuine 044, i did gap the plug's ect ect. And the customer is always right untill you diagnose/prove him/her wrong. It's just a little check and even if it is a GTR, better to find out then and there than 2hour's (money) into the dyno when the diff lock's up.
-
Yer it takes about 30 or so minute's, the hardest would be if the fuel line is in braid, but non of our customer's have ever said no.

Gidday all. After reading that member's on here are having what seem's to be simple proplem's when car is being used on the dyno. I'am just wanting to know if other shop's are doing what we do down here @ EFI. Basically wanting to know if we are the only shop doing VECHICLE PRE-DYNO CHECK'S. We started doing this after about 1month using another workshop's dyno, what was happening was we would do either the fuel system, maybe wire in a ECU or just a straight forward off the street "I would like my car tuned please" that what we were finding was 95% of performance car's would have poor fuel flow, battery might have been removed to the boot and in-correct wiring used with bad earth's, coil's not having enough voltage, fuel pump's were installed by owner to cut cost, a whole heap of issue's, our biggest one was "I BROUGHT THIS PART ONLINE AND WAS TOLD IT WAS GOOD" So we as a business had to come up with an idea to save customer's cost and workshop time. What we came up with was a pre inspection for your vechicle before it went on the roller's, we check fuel flow/pressure, all power and earth leads to battery and starter, power to fuel pump and most of all, engine inspection driveline oil's, almost like a mini service. We do this at a small cost, but it's a small cost to pay we say instead of it being on the dyno and been charged out 5time's that amount.. Have any member's on here had this check done on there vechicle before a tune, do any member's know of any perforamce shop's doing this and most of all would you like this mini service done on your car to save time and most of all your MONEY. Thanks for your feedback. All the team @ EFI.
-
So $235 per hr and they couldnt even find that it had a bad earth proplem??? Do any of you boy's/girl's get pre dyno check's done before your tune??? We do battery, power to coil, power to fuel pump and fuel flow/pressure check's before every run and add it into the bill. Best to sort these issue's out before you waste 20-30min's to strap it down and end up with no result.
-
Wow. It pay's to use a shop with GOOD DIAGNOSTIC skill's then doesnt it.

Yer one of the best threads to read atm becoz everyone posting know what is involved to make consistant power, no dreamer's/shiit talker's.

Sean's VL calais, RB30 with modified RB20 wiring loam and nistune Full built engine, rods, piston's headwork ect, you know the drill T04z 6BOOST manifold 48 progate JD custon intake with ported runner's Our own custom fuel setup's 3 1/2 exhaust Full manual 4speed jatco, 4200 stall 518hp on 24psi pump. My own VL calais Full built, you know the drill, but $2500 on the head and cam, spec's custom. 6BOOST manifold progate 48 35/40 1.06 rear Rajab inlet with ported runner's Our own custom setup fuel system's Autronic Smc with dis4 MSD Full built jatco with 3200 stall Still on baby tune as we are moving shop and awaiting our mainline dyno mid feb, should see 480hp. Rb20 Lag. Is There A Fix?
EFI Performance replied to Vanilla_Rice's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ohhh we know why........... -
Well thats .2 of a volt lose with ignition ON, wait till you rev it up then if you loose more than 1volt, imagon that on full load, you would end up loosing 3-4 volt's to your coil's, there is your ignition break down, not the coil's fault. Hope that help's you out. Goodluck.
-
Or woodridge you will get them in your backyard. If you could afford it, and wanted nice living go to victoria point or redland bay... i moved from frankston to here 5 yrs ago and have never looked back.
-
Why are you having ignition proplem's thou??? Go to the main power feed wire for your coil's, (will be white or white/black) see what voltage you have on idle, then rev the engine up, as your alternator charges up to 13-14 volt's, see if you get the same reading at your main coil feed wire?? I bet you dont, which mean's on full load, your getting voltage drop, and your coil's are breaking down... Try it.
-
I vote engine bay picture to go with spec's.....
-
So many ppl continue to buy spitfire coil's, there not needed if you have full voltage to your standard coil's at all times.
