  1. Gee that's cheap! Did he remove and replace the shafts or did you pull them out and he did the boots? I got quoted 150 per boot last week thought it was steep!
  2. NIL83R, I think they are cam seals? (someone correct me), they came with my kit but didn't use them as i have no leaks.

  4. For what it's worth I used the dayco kit that comes with both pulleys and its been all good for 20,000 so far, definitely do the idler and tensioner at least, water pump should be good for 200,000 but it's up to you for your piece of mind I didn't.

  6. yeah i finally got it but i had to wait for my bro to come home, my hands are not small unfortunatly, im 6,4 and 118kg so i cant really climb on my motor to help out either lol, glad i got it now though! yeah i gave it a bash this morning and it started once, but it def needed replacing. All good now though only problem is it sounds like a VL when you crank it over LOL!
  7. i have my old one out and the new one in, but i cant get the top bolt started in the thread! its driving me f**king mad, any tips?
  8. there are only two bolts that hold this thing on so you wouldnt think it would be that hard! but i just spent the last hour trying to get the top bolt started in the thread and i just cant do it! im just about ready to go postal on this thing
  9. well i finally got my starter off after speding 1 hour on a single bolt! also i picked an RB30 starter up from malz and was wondering if anyone in here has used one of these before? i read in here it is compatable but my new starter is slightly larger and has a plug on it i guess i just piss it off? check the pics you will see what i mean.
  10. Hello all my starter motor has been making funny noises over the last couple of days but was still working fine, now when i try to start the car it wont crank at all. I'm guising it has died but im just wondering if anyone knows any obvious stuff like relays to check or possible dirty conections? I do all the work on my car but have never done anything with my starter motor. any suggestions would be great! Rhet

  15. got mine too chers for the painless group buy, i notice this sump plug uses a rubber o-ring, so i take it we dont use a copper crush washer aswell?

  18. FYI i have the mild steel bell mouth sump/front from just jap and it fit straight up, this is on a series 1, they are hit and miss though some people have no worries others aren't even close.

  24. I had these exact same symptoms with my old sr20, thought it was the old standard turbos oil seal leaking but I bought a new 28/71 and ba bow still blew smoke after extended idling, it was valve stem seals.
