umm an update, from inside the car it sounded like a sucking noise from a pod, but when you open the bonnet up and listen to it from the front it is more like a scraping noise and is coming from the front half of the engine near the water pump or cam cover area. makes the noise both on and off acceleration between 2000-3000rpm, and the funny thing is it goes away once the car is warmed up and is at normal running temp. :confused: any ideas?

great, need to book mine in asap to get the front end of the engine looked at, been making some really weird noises. umm i'll try to ring up again and hopefully not get that st*pid answering machine.

My water pump was badly leaking before, like i went through the whole coolant resivuor (spelling ) in about less than a week. So about a month ago i took it to SST and problem solved, they're the cheapest and the best place i found to do it at. Just call steve or the guys at SST and book it in.

I know this is a small thing, but have u got the indicator switch and can you dismantle this? Let us know. ta.

thanx guys, found out wat it is, its the indicator switch itself from around the steering column where the bit of smoke came from. now i just need to find a replacment switch, anyone know of someone that might b wrecking an r33, and i wonder how much ni$$an charge for one of these? thanx again.

mmm i prefer pasta over rice. :jk: but yea if u wanna get some do so, personally for a black car i prefer green, like the vtec civic from fast n the furious. but yea still...not a really big fan of under car neons, around amps and subs than mayb.

ok guys found out wat the problem is, its the indicator switch itself which is in the steering column (where the smoke came from), not the flasher relay cause thats under the dash ontop of your left foot. Only problem is to find the replacement switch. Might try wreckers or somethin, or ni$$an if its not too expensive.

So anyone know of any good auto electrian prefebly south of the river and someone that knows their way around imports. Or better still anyone have had this problem before and know wat and how to fix it? Thanx alot.

azron i know which unit you disconnected cause i did the same thing yesterday and the whole thing didn't work. Its the rectangular cube thing next to the cyclinder tube unit, it was 3 flat plug (not really good at explaining this) connection thing, it think is got a english tag label that says something like "MILES" and other stuff. Just out of interest wat engine oil do u guys use, i've got the castrol magnatec 10W/40. ta.

no sh*t i just had my first wisp of smoke coming from the exact same place this morning while playing around with both the indicators and the hazard light, scares the living daylite out of me lol. Any other ideas people, and how much does the switch costs to replace? thanx

the alarms all good, but can u explain more about the relay and the flasher unit how i can get to these and test it etc... Cheers

I've got this strange problem with my indicator. It won't stop ticking after i use it or when it gets back to the centre. The lights switches off but the ticking noise won't go away or slowly slows down but won't completely stop. This happens both after signalling left and right, and after switching off the hazard light. Anyone ever had this problem before or knows wats going on here? Please help. oh its an r33 gts. Thanx in advance.

the last time i saw one of those is at an ECU career stand at morley galleria couple of weeks ago i think it was like $650-$700. pretty cool to have one of those as a run around to ur local shops and back :headspin: one of the guy who lives in my street has an electric powered skateboard lookin thing, seen him whizzing around on it, goes pretty fast though and its home made as well.

Talk to Simon tell him azmin with the blue R33 sent you there. But most are pretty much stock, as from compliance requirements. Does yours make like a loud sucking noise at cold start between 2000-3000rpm BOTH when accelarating and just after when stepping off the gas? Mine does this and i've got the stock air filter and air box still, no pods (i know pod does this). And it stops doing it after the car is warmed up like at normal temp. Can there be an AFM problem, like its on its way out? nismo_GTS keep us posted wat happen to urs ok. Cheers
