  1. I like watching lewis drive, I hate listening to him bitch and moan. also, as much as I love Webz, he sure can be depressing to listen to.
  2. diameter diameter of stock R35 tyres is about 700-710mm from memory. the 295/30-18 is about 630 or smiliar I think
  3. speaking of tyres, Yokohama are telling me the latest size A050 semi slick that would have been good for my car (295/35-18) is not available as the mold for this size (and a few others?) was damaged with the earthquake. biggest semis other than the bridgestones are 295/30-18 (hankook vetnis Z221 and A050's), that diameter is about 80mm less than the standard wheel size on my car. I wish there were some bigger smei slick options so we could match it with the EVO's
  4. have been waiting for the thread Drew. car is looking good! cant wait for the update. will be interesting to se how the aero guys differ in their approach. are you using CFD or wind tunnel? wont see you tomorrow at QR as I have sold the ADM. be sure to take out the Porsche cup car,
  5. likely sectioned centre console Baron a few things to change on it yet should be ready next week.
  6. carbon dash update andrew from custom carbon components is working hard on the dash and doors dash out of car and assembled plug
  7. yeah they are based on a GT30 not sure which exactly though
  8. Blocks are cheap. Time isn't. It's a bored and darton sleeved block from AMS with forged gear.
  9. oh and we mounted a tyre
  10. A few AMS goodies arrived today: AC delete FMIC 4.0 engine AMS Alpha 10 turbos Exhaust manifolds Heat shielding and whole bunch of ancillaries in the kit. heads get back late this week fuel system being built. aero design of final elements being run through the initial CFD carbon parts being made everywhere. things are hectic to say the least
  11. btw trent, a very large crate weighing a couple of hundeed kilos just turned up at my house. My wife ran out with the three kids before the angry hungarian delivery guy could drop it on the cobblestones. expect some AMS goodness shortly! skaifey would have been good but as trent says, we have other options (which will fit in well with our weight reduction policy on this build) if this guy pulls a faster time than me I will be arguing that its because he weighs half of one of my arse cheeks
  12. No KERS for Vettel in the first Practice session
  13. would never give up the oportunity to drive this car, at that track, in this event!
  14. thats not a silly question Initially I was going to be the only driver but we may share the driving with a pro for a few sessions. I will be whoring the datalog to help me as I have never been to EC and am still developing my driving skills. Cant say who it will be just yet
  15. That is a very good point. they have been trial fitted but removed we are also fabricating our own steering column to allow a perfect custom fit
  16. what tyres and size Harry?
  17. yeah I have been going through there at 225kph with a dab of the brakes flat out I estimate would be around 235kph or so, on the 3-4 day old slicks it was starting to move around a bit which wasnt a comfortable feeling at that speed. new slicks and some aero and 245 is the goal!
  18. nice work Harry. cant wait to get back out there myself
  19. not excuses, just reality of the car in this format. with the right tyres (and driver) I think it would be a top contender more cage pics. front strut towing bracing not shown (got to have some secrets) most components of the cage are tacked together until final inspection and welding/gusseting next week
  20. Thanks guys. Baron the biggest problem at wtac will be: -Lack of testing (we will be finishing the build july!) -The weight of this big pig ( if we get to 1450kg we will be very happy) -Tyres- they just don't make semislicks to suit this car as they do the smaller evos etc We will do our best just the same though
  21. Cage is 2/3's in. finishing construction this week and welding next week better pics then
  22. clutches, FWD upgrades,ATS diff
  23. I cant identify the quick release on that one, might be located on the front though few votes for Willans here. will source a shop to try one out. thanks for all the imput guys
