  1. yes not sure how cobb came out like that. was at the workshop thismorning but wont be back today i'm afraid. enjoy the car!
  2. no problem with questions keeps the build honest
  3. Something about the torsional forces with helical gears transmitting along the length of the transmission case with resultant deformation which leads to problems you tend not to get with straight cut boxes. If you guys know something Dodson don't please let me know!
  4. Time for a new build thread. Big thanks to the guys at Mercury Motorsport who are working hard on the car right now. Also thanks to AMS, Dodson and Just Jap who are helping us out immensely. 5. It seems open class is already booked out, club sprint not far behind. A few pro class entries available.
  6. Awesome! I previously had two baby seats for my girls. They miss the car!
  7. good work on the outcome Kymbo.
  8. fuel economy is not surprisingly poor. 22L/100km around town 50% and highway 50% update on how it drives - fantastic. power delivery is smooth and acceleration anytime is awesome. no towing yet but just took delivery of trailer so will update more at end of April after a few trips to the track
  9. The Nevco just arrived. This is one serious trailer. note, pit trolley up front.
  10. Do it Duncan. we are going for some more power this season also. who knows how the car will handle it on the track but I reckon if you are looking for more power you might need to start looking at some transmission upgrades. dropping another 100-120kg cant hurt either.
  11. Entries available from midday 6th April.
  12. Congrats. Just wait til you get the stage 2 tune... Good times ahead for you!
  13. I have some experience in dodgy Miami hotels run by hispanics with bullet holes in the walls and requests for cash payments so the Chiefly sounds like a palace. The bar sounds convenient, I might try pretending to get plastered before the event so I have the necesary excuses for slow times.
  14. will be heading down this year. interested to know about accomodation Noel and anyone else with info. also would love to be able to get on the track before the event to get my head around it. any opportunities on the week of superlap?
  15. Don't try and justify your purchase to the eurosnob wankers. If they persist you could point out to them that whilst you have been speaking with them that their car just depreciated by the whole purchase price of your car
  16. yep I mentioned it was a short block in my post, those prices are including taxes and freight if you read it. I should know I have just bought a 4.0 AMS...... having said all that if the Greddy kit includes all the heads etc then that seems like a very good price., how much are the factory heads to buy off the shelf?
  17. well as a reference point: $11,500 US you can get a 3.8 litre AMS built engine. $800 shipping + taxes, so for $15,000 Aussie you get an AMS 3.8L built engine to your door. for about $22,000 Aussie you will get the big bore sleeved 4.0 race spec AMS built engine to your door. these prices include AMS supplying a new short block
  18. haha, have you found a way to transplant / set up the ADM head unit Chris? you might sort out the vin but when the japanese characters start popping up on the display you might raise a few eyebrows.
  19. As Duncan says, this form has been around in one form or another since the first ADM R35 orders were placed for the '09 models. Some people have found Nissan dealerships to be little more lenient than the document suggest for very minor mods and track use though this is by no means universal.
  20. Thankfully my car will soon be about 1550kg It's the other 300-400kg of other shite to carry along that's weighing me down Comments about single axle and balance are spot on from what I've been told. Should be able to manage car placement to optimize handling. We sent down cornerweighting numbers to make sure perfect distribution could be achieved. Tyres blowing, well we will have to wait and see!
  21. damn iPhone. yes Ben, i think thats how Nevco build their gear. I hope I have made the right decision. Maintainence is the best preventative measure moving on from here to help minimise catastrophe.
  22. haha, yes ,nissan still stand by the claim of the cars weight be nece3ssary for maximum grip/load on tyres. Mizuno san shamelessly delivered the BS at teh aussie Philip Island track day. then nismo go and make a 1520kg stripped out car that goes hard as. tyre specs for the trailer btw Kumho 225/75R16 121 load index
  23. Good advice guys. George swears by the tyres, about $500/each
