I just moved to AAMI, previously with Suncorp my policy now with AAMI is about $2000 premium and $1000 excess. This was similar to the deal I had with suncorp before they jacked it up to 10,000 this year so got a quote and renewed with AAMI. to let you know how fickle things are though, Druzilla had the opposite experience with AAMI (see thread), go figure.

what do people know about the various mixes of e85 from the different companies? I get the green 'sucrogen' stuff and at about 2.50/L it aint cheap. it apparently has the most consisent and best mix of ethanol with high octane petroleum. for instance, the castrol product is note as high an octane rating?? I understand some varieties of e85 have lower octane mixes which could be nasty on certain tunes.

sure will be keeping an eye on it but I think it might just be power delivery. I probably should have been shifting at lower rpm's to be honest. I will connect the COBB access port and download the codes to see if there are any transmission errors never thought it for a second, I appreciate the constructive comments

also, first time out on the track with that particular tune, will see how it runs in the dry

pretty sure it is working, I had it in race mode which is pretty lenient. the car has more power than stock. I am not sure how the Vbox interacts with the CAN bus but it is the same in the dry. the way the throttle pressure runs from 0-100% doesnt appear linear on the display versus what I modulate with the pedal in real time.

thanks Bill. yes there was plenty of stoppages with cars coming off turn 1. One guy didnt leave the track looking too good unfortunately. heres a shot of the R35 with the Mercury Nitto R34

posted this in the Ruzic time attack thread (motorsport section) but thought I'd post here for you R35 nut-heads. very wet out there today. only ran a few laps on the year old Bridgestones Mick Sigsworth in front in his mad evo I was slow as! I had never driven in the wet on track before, new-found respect for all those targa guys...

Weird, I was with suncorp and the same thing happened. I then went with aami who they recommended as an affiliate and now pay $1950!

OMP HTE Carbon went in today. trial fit in the car tonight. the centre tunnel of the car is asymmetric ( I assume to accommodate the front drive shaft), sticks out more on the driver side on for Aus cars which is a pain in the arse. all airbags are stripped out so not worried about the sensor light!

my Bridgstones are still going strong, 11k street km, no track days set of 20 inch Toyo 888 for track use saw only 3 track days, maybe another day if I had rotated them
