Congrats. I hear good things about the Cobb AP. Yes I am jealous, 6 months to go for mine. Awesome christmas present for yourself...

Correct, verbal only at present. Principal of the dealership is 'on leave'. Seems reasonable enough from previous encounters though. I wonder whether they read these forums! I will ask for a written confirmation and update the thread when and if I get one.

I am interested in knowing who on this forum has on order or already has bought an R35 GTR? ADM Nissan Aus or JDM import, doesn't matter. I have ordered a 'gun metallic' Premium ADM estimated delivery due in May 09. Gold coast Nissan. Looking at some HRE wheels for it but otherwise stock for now.

Agree re: LC warranty rubbish on the internet. The internet unfortunately provides a good medium for people with more time on their hands than knowledge or factual information. My statement of warranty was not meant to imply responsible use of the 'toggle of terror' would void your warranty. I won't have that option now though so its a moot point. After reading the NAGTROC and other such forums around the world it seems most idiots who have crunched their gearboxes have been a little enthusiastic about their use of LC. The very few instances reported seem to have owners who supply very limited factual information as to what they were doing to the car at the time and for the life of the vehicle. Back to the topic at hand... ADM or JDM? who cares? personal choice. its not like Mr ADM and Mr JDM will spot each other on the road, recognise 'the enemy' and start a fight. I am pretty sure either owner is going to love their car. As for those wishing that Nissan Aus never gets compliance, lets be realistic. If low volume importers can get the car into the country do you really think a multinational corporation is going to struggle? Regarding timing of ADM's arriving in the country, they have been planning for this with higher delivery numbers (of the 200/yr coming) weighted for the first few months. I won't speculate wildly but something tells me there are a few people working at Nissan on making this launch successful and that we will indeed see deliveries in April 09. If I am wrong about this then I guess I will have to wait longer than expected, I suppose I'll cope. Rather than arguing about inconsequential matters though it might be interesting to start a poll. Who is actually buying an R35 GTR that reads this forum? ADM or JDM? It sounds like most people who write on this forum aren't buying one, not that I am suggesting that wild unsubstantiated rumours shouldn't be flogged around the internet, I need some fictional reading to lighten my day.

All people are new to a forum at one point are they not? I can afford an R35 and have one on order. Yes this is my first Nissan so I will not speak for or against their service record. I assume some people who aren't happy with them may not be happy because they drive grey imports not supported by Nissan Australia (with the exception of the R32 of course). I hope the experience may be different for nissan Australia backed GTRs but I too am suspicious of their ability to go from servicing pulsars to servicing the GTR. They take a 2 week course or something to become the dealership's 'GTR certified mechanic'. At the end of the day this is a great car. I am sure going to enjoy driving it. If Nissan are as bad as people report I certainly will not feel the need to defend them and I will let you all know.

Confirmed no change in price of my order ($175k DMG premium) unless LCT policy changes. In fact, If you could order one now through Von Bibra Nissan on the Gold Coast you would still be paying that. They apparently have pre orders to August/September.
-
All this talk of warranties not being important to someone who pays $175-200 k for a car astounds me. Most people who can afford that haven't got to that situation by throwing money around irresponsibly. Yes I could probably find the money for expenses incurred from failures but why would I when there is a perfectly good warranty? Money better spent on something else. I agree that purchasing for competetive racing is different and that there is an extreme minority who have cash to waste but this is certainly not the 'overwhelming majority'. As for the prices. My DMG premium price is locked in confirmed $175k delivery May 09. Only changes if LCT policies change. Also if you want to order the same car from gold coast nissan for delivery in August/September you will pay the same price, dealer confirmed. Regarding launch control, If you really want it then I am sure after market guys will sort that out for you if warranty is no concern.
-
Von Bibra Nissan on the gold coast have verbally stated that the exchange rate will note affect the price. LCT variability depends on govt policies and is conditional to any such policy changes. Of course I will not believe it until I see written confirmation from the dealer. I will update when this occurs.

Hadn't forgotten Adam! Thanks for the info. The charcoal or custom darker colour would look great on a white or Gunmetal R35
-
I think they need a gunmetal/dark grey spoke colour to compliment the carbon
-
Yup have been on that forum hunting information. Plenty of reading. Lots of information from varying quality sources of experimental wheel and tyre sizing options. HRE now have a carbon fibre Barrel they are working on ? 21 lbs per rim http://www.nagtroc.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=26086
-
ridiculous ?photoshop jobbie but nice 10 spoke 3 piece ?HRE 593R. matt black centre and gloss black rim might be a goer..
-
yup. have to agree about the dish. Those HRE comps look good. Although those black p40 wheels would look good on the gun meta. Maybe matt black mesh centre and polished black rim on the comp version would look good on the gun metal (I really like the dark wheels on that colour). their website looks promising, but are HRE that customisable?

also interested in exhaust upgrades. being new to the nissan seen in aus, is it likely local tuning groups will develop local exhaust options? seems to be some good JDM options out there but expensive ++. I like the reports on the AMUSE STTi extra system
-
Would definitely would take it with a grain of salt! money probably better spent tuning a stock base model GTR (warranty issues aside - if you even care!)

Have an R35 on pre order and am keen to explore wheel options prior to April. have been looking through all the international forums and have many ideas. Anyone out there able to contribute information on reliable suppliers of wheels? Brands like HRE, BBS, Rays etc seem to offer good quality and fits for this model (though I am crapping myself about the prices from my estimations) Am liking mesh and dish in a wheel at the moment, maybe something like the LM BBS (likely Not avail) or similar depending on fit Have been burnt before on a set of high end jap import 3 piece wheels for my STi when the supplier went bust and I damaged a wheel.......
-
awesome, would love to see one here in qld. the LEDs in the bumper are on the options list. 5 more months wait..............
-
damn right! I like the centre straight through treatment of this 360 forged dual centre exhaust (not sure of the 'aluminium' or whatever fascia in the center cutout though. The replacement grills on the rear of the branew kit would be a nice touch (lose the 3 rd exhaust tip though!). http://www.motorauthority.com/content/thum...027-636x360.jpg

Thanks BM88. those wheels you're looking at seem similar to the Nismo Rays save for some minor design details and ?weight . no doubt the nismo product will be way overpriced though http://www.nihoncar.com/en/news_pics/889/g..._R35_GTR_04.jpg

On a less technical note, how easy is the install of custom wheels? (lots of discussion on forums but you see them everywhere now) the BBS wheels look great btw, I like a bit of dish......
