  1. here you go Fatz, some perspective of where the car is at currently 1:20 national circuit at QR on run in tune, 70% throttle, half the body panels absent, no aero whatsoever on standard nissan pads and used RE55 rubber no wheel alignment with god only knows what toe angles present. felt like we were coasting. previously full blat on slicks with suspension aero and brakes sorted 1:17's
  2. haha although I cant say right this moment it may get even more interesting than that. stay tuned
  3. No problems with the wiring at all which was a relief.
  4. another test session out at QR today with a few bugs in the drive train and engine ironed out. will get some in car footage to give you all an appreciation of just how this car feels. Will not on track though until later in the month when we should have all the final exterior panels and aero on the car and painted.
  5. Busy fatz. update later tonight. The action hasn't stopped though rest assured.
  6. Wow! Weight reduction Can't wait to see the bodywork come together Drew. This thing will be quite a rocket!
  7. certainly different, it has been a while. but what was really good going back to them was getting back the feeling of just how progressive they are. the slicks are more violent when they they let go and more difficult to reign in on occasion. the semi's give you plenty of time to react by comparison 4 wheel drifting was on for young and old!
  8. thanks Snowy. double undies were required. Few minor issues, but otherwise ran well. man this thing is insane picture of Frankenstein...
  9. Great to meet you guys. Test day tomorrow, hoping things run smoothly!
  10. long nights and weekends working on the car by all the lads at Mercury. super effort. still plenty to do! aim to have the car ready in close to final 'pre WTAC' spec for 26th July. We have a few test dates prior to that planned at QR and Morgan park where the car will look a bit like frankenstein.
  11. Gordo dissecting the wiring harness Dont let appearances deceive you, his fingers are nimble and quick. I reckon he could have done microsurgery but he chose the more noble art of modifying high performance Japanese cars. and then below, the throw away bits. more weight savings!
  12. instruments in brackets made
  13. dash before instruments go in and before brackets made
  14. low! remember kids, smoking kills - don't smoke
  15. brackets made up for the battery wide!
  16. yeah we already tested the car on local wildlife at QR, not pretty
  17. fatz, you'll never sell that front bumper with those sort of comments
  18. and big thanks to Trent and Tess for driving the whole project and putting up with my endless visits and phone calls
  19. overtime? whats that? my toohey's extra dry supply cant keep up with all the overtime lol seriously though Luke, Gordon and John have all been putting in immense hours to get this car finished. their work ethic and comittment is second to none
  20. I want a solid 600awkw 28-30psi , god only knows how I'll cope getting that down on the track in any sensible fashion to put that in perspective a stock R35 puts out about 270awkw on the mercury dyno dynamics not sure what it should end up with in dyno queen mode?
  21. Mate, no problem Will pm Trent's number.
  22. pm Trent from mercury motorsport. Thats one of the parts I wasn't coordinating. Will require jump starting to preserve battery life though so not for everyone. It is only 1.8kg though!!
  23. Um, yes? Were you expecting titanium fittings? lol
