Interesting event for us, I flew in tuesday morning expecting to go straight to Buller and recce, but car had issues and wasn't ready. Still wasn't ready wednesday, so I decided to head up the mountain thursday anyway.
Got the 'Good' news thursday night the car was ready and on its way up.
Recce friday, missed drivers briefing, did did the prologue and all was good.
Saturday morning started out well, but mainly getting the pressures right in the tyres. Got to the lunch break and nobody was there! WTF? Ok so after driving round following basic instructions from the CRO's we got there, but 4 minutes over late time. Mr Benson thankfully sorted that out an we were back on our way, but what seemed to be a common occurance i didn't get to eat much of my lunch.
2nd stage after lunch and we had been warned of a car on fire but all ok. So we start the stage, having a fair old dip till this happened.

Put the fear of god in us both and gingerly cruised the remainder of the stage in the left hand lane, fearing what else could come along!
Next stage on the start line a radiator hose splits and steam pisses out of the engine bay, Seriously could things get much worse? coast through the stage, thankfully some of it was downhill. Got to the end and pulled over. Simon Gillet stopped and gave us a hand and we were back on our way within 5 minutes. but now the 2nd last car on the road
Mt Buller was by now pretty ripped up so not the best run in the world up there, but no excuses.
Following day started well, drove the 60km transport to the second stage, and we were looking forward to Jamieson. Sitting on the line, 5, 4, 3... Car starts rolling backwards, break pedal on the floor.. OMG! The chances of it happening there and not 2 Km's in! anyway enough was enough, transported through the stage getting passed by atleast 8 cars.. Ghey
Thankfully Miedeke Motorsport service crew were at the end and bandaged us up and we limped it back home.. another DNF
Thankfully there was a carton of beer in the room when we got back to Buller, I'd had about enough!!!
