  1. As far as I can read Mark the following ONLY apply to MS cars M19. Gearbox / Transmission / Final Drive a) The clutch is free. b) Flywheel is free. c) The casings and housings must be the same as originally fitted to the vehicle. d) The number of forward gears must be standard; otherwise the internal components are free. e) The gear change mechanisms must be as originally specified for the vehicle, other than that shortened or ‘quick’ shifters which do not result in modification to the casings or housings are permitted. Sequential shift mechanisms are not permitted. f) The internal components of the differential, axles and drive shafts, are free. g) Live rear axle equipped vehicles may be modified to incorporate floating rear hubs. So for LMS the above must remain as per factory specification

What tyres are you running for the time attack Ben?
  4. Shows how Poor us australian's actually are... no wonder they sent us all out on a boat to get rid of us! Nah good write up Roy, I reckon I would have been happy enough wandering around the pits/spectating. The traffic must drive you bonkers though!
  5. Must have accidentally tried to link one of Roy's 'Test' vid's!
  6. I had one in my s13, it was a real FUN job to get out. It did sharpen the steering up and didn't present any major vibration/feedback. However i didn't replace if fo this reason, it was more to do with a clearance issue with the slack of the column on the starter motor. Notec used to make a replacement urethane type, but since the merger with whiteline/red ranger I can't locate them.
  7. Something like this would be good with the included wind sock http://reviews.cnet.com/microphones/sony-e...l?tag=mncol;lst Ben uses something similar like this clipped to co-drivers lapel http://reviews.cnet.com/microphones/sony-t....html?tag=specs
  8. My big gripe with the POV is the remote start/stop. Its not always definate that it has started recording. There is an audible beep, but with a helmet on and a hot 4AGE/RB20 idling away its near impossible to hear this beep. Hopefully RadCam is alot better in this department.
  9. Thank you! Someone actually cares about us plebs!
  10. Thats a feckin nice cage Paul! Whats the bracked for on the passenger side A pillar? Im assuming trip computer? Also what is the seat bracket to suit stock sliding rails?
  11. I loved how Zetool blamed Liuzzi for his puncture when it was pretty clear that he cut him off in the passing manoeuvre. Its really a shame, I liked the boy back in his STR days and to a degree last year, but this year its been like he has been taking the wrong pills on race day.
  12. I don't knwo what your whinging about just borrow Berry's car!
  13. I really worry about the cheap bluetooth stuff on ebay.. my dad is a serial ebayer and so much stuff he buys might work ok one day then the next day dead... its the old addage you get what you pay for. Stilo WRC Amps: http://www.bsmsport.com.au/ecommerce/index.php?productID=184 $338 Thats as cheap as you can buy them anywhere. Maybe starting out with a terraphone is an option and if rallying is for you (which it will be), upgrade. you might be able to sell it off
  14. Hot tip don't skimp on the intercom side... it might not seem important, but it damn well is.... If it fails or isn't crispy clear you can easily mishear a call and game over. I have used the BlueAnt, Terraphone and Stilo and im tellin ya now, Terraphone = No. BlueAnt is a great idea and works ok, but they way they pair and sometimes the volume isn't ideal, If they could makes these a bit better an easier to use they would be ideal. Its definately Stilo WRC or nothing, clear, noise cancelling no electrical feedback etc. You can get universal headsets to put in any helmet for not much more than terraphone and you should be able to pickup a WRC amp for a reasonable price. As for notes, its all about the info the driver wants to know about, ive been with several different people and each one has a different preference. IE Marlin like lots of info like 'Flat Crest @ House', '4R @ Sign', 9L Tightens 7L @ Pole' etc etc But other guys ive been with don't want to know about that stuff as they find it a distraction. Personally when I started I had no clue, and had no one to offer guidance, I got given a Vandenberg Motorsport Pace note book and away we went. After that I made a big effort to research alot more and got alot of help from TargaTom on these forums. I watched ALOT of incar video (Brocky from Targa 2004) and endless other Youtube vid's. THen I got the opportunity to jump in with Marlin for a couple of events and thats where I learnt everything
  15. I was thinking the exact same thing!
  16. Cheap prepaid nextG phone plus antenna on roof work just about anywhere
  17. Don't really like this approach, i'd kinda prefer to know who the drivers are before putting my name out... obviously there is a reason why they don't/struggling to get a nav?
  18. I did an event without a terratrip once, i managed somehow to become an expert at counting 100m distances in my head. it gives you a headache though!
  19. Yep as much as people say they can help out and carry fuel tools etc, its when your stuck with a problem a technical expert comes in real handy. I cannot stress enough the importance of a good service crew. We use MPC and while the price seems excessive, in the end they have a truck full of tools and spares, diagnostic equipment with guys that know how to use it and several vehicles that run around after you and are all at the end of a stage when you need them. Now I reckon if you added up how much it would cost you to have a few mates with a couple of vehicles, pay for their accom and food plus petty for them to drive around after you for a week I wouldn't be surprised if it was nearly what someone like MPC charge anyway. This year was the first time I have done the event and didn't have a proper service crew and really the added stress wasn't good, relying on filling up at servo's and hoping the guy you gave some jerry can's to is going to be about where he said he would be so you could refuel in the middle of nowhere.
  20. Love this quote ''Martin Brundle came on the television and said watch out for some fun at the first corner and Mark looked up and said: ''You bet there will be some fun at the first corner''
  21. Im kinda confused, they were at their home track within a stones throw of their factory and they couldn't produce more than two examples of said wing? Im no expert on the manufacturing process they go through, but I would have though if they planned to run the wing for the race they would have atleast 1 spare if not more?
  22. Actually 1st in P2, we lost out in the 2nd heat after a fuse blew on the Engine Management dropping us 6 min's. We were 6th outright/1st 2wd in the 1st heat. Ended up 5th overall in 2wd. Grr but them the breaks.
  23. Ray Vandersee is putting those engines in his Skelta's.
