  1. Ok so less than 3 weeks to go! Lets talk this up a bit! Im pretty damn excited, not just for the rally side of things, but also to get out of the freezer down here!
  2. Why isn't E85 allowed?? Schedule G of the CAMS manual mentions E85 as compliant??? Or is it more to do with Technical regulation regarding change of injectors/fuel system? Or was this just an event regulation? I just happened to be reading them yesterday as im trying to figure out if we can run ELF in the gravel car.
  3. Big Show is so hard on the gear, I hope he can get the old girl back out there! Whats the bet someone else is doing all the work on the car? Lol!
  4. They really need a laptime feed, are they using Natsoft?
  5. Has Berry's wing grown?
  6. You would likely be more in the know than I, but ive heard that due to low numbers its likely Rally Tas will go gravel and be based on the original Southern Safari ARC event (as an ARC event)? Would be a shame, I reckon Rally Tas is a great event, great roads and burnie is a great place to hold it.
  7. Since when? Well done if thats the case!!!
  8. Ouch! even im not that harsh! I will light your ciggies, but just no nose picking this time Sir Woo!
  9. But can he box with the heavy weights of Russ and Woo in it?
  10. We had a good look at/sit in/feel of matt's TTRS pre-his mail delivery service gone bad. Was a lil cramped to get in/out of due to the exceptional cage, but a warm home once in, maybe a quick-release wheel or works bell flip up might make life a lil easier, but true credit to his build. They are a much nicer car than the early hairdresser spec cars. I was so impressed with how it went considering how stock it was (stock magnetic suspension, stock brakes etc). Chuck a Haldex torque controller in to send more drive to the rear and it would be amazing. I was amazed how much of the car is made of alloy, wouldn't have made building the cage easy!
  11. Are the big conical shaped funnel air intake to the restrictor still the done thing in IP??? sorry for my bad description!
  12. The tour in Rally Tasmania is heaps better, Cody Crocker was Tour leader and everyone was having a dip... for a bunch of toffy lipped geriatrics in porsches.
  13. Hang on didn't you do the Tour one year?
  14. Please! wear it! While your at it a pair of cheap Fluro sunnies an bleach blonde hair... dunno how you go about the pre-pubescent acne though.....
  15. Cos they are the Commodores of skylines, every wanker with a UNIT hat drives one
  16. All this talk about S6/7/8 RX7's, I really didn't like the pedal arrangement, felt cramped and very offset. plus i think from memory the wheel wasn't central to the seat or something? Uncomfortable anyway. Lets talk FWD... Lol! I reckon Snowman should get back to the idea of a Scirocco or Gti-R Golf or something. Fact of the matter Damo is they aren't going to move the categories again while certain rear engine $6 figure cars are winning so comfortably, So I can't see the R32 being a "classic" until atleast 2025. By that time either none of us will be Tarmac rallying and therefore not give a shit, the world will run out of oil and we will all be racing in retro hybrids/electrics, or between you, savman, Benny and Roy you will own the last remaining GTSt's in the world and be running your own one make series. Go figure
  17. thats just a warm up hey Benny!
  18. Hi Dom, Tim here from the Porsche 944 (#736) we were usually in the que together at the start of stages. I must say you always had a grin on your face so you must have been enjoying yourself! I always got a great chuckle out of the stickers on your rear bumper!!! Hope to catch you at more events soon!
  19. Still waiting on Canadian chicks number........ Since we are stirring Benson
  20. I'd like to apply for a derived time for the hour of my life lost last night and I'll happily take the penalty. Apparently the Early Modern category (of which the majority of this forum competes in and watches) wasn't good enough for a mention or a final classification on the Doco. I know not everyone can make it on the doco, but shit to miss a whole category??
  21. and I don't know about 'Smash' did you look at the stage times?
  22. That must be a fairly popular shift pattern in dogboxes Beer Baron as the new PAR box in our gravel Sprinter is the same, and a mates IP RX7 is the same. I guess it gets first out of the way so you can just work the H pattern.
  23. Thanks for the kind words Greg, for those that don't know, Greg helped me out a fair bit on my foray into the world of Tarmac rally co-driving. I knew absolutely nothing about it prior to this and I appreciate his expertise over the years. Also Benny for taking a huge gamble taking me on as a Rookie navigator in 2008 and then inviting me back in 2009 to have an absolute ripsnorter. I personally work for a living and rally for fun, so if I can get a paid gig thats great, if i get a free ride awesome, team up with a mate and share costs, so what (like ben said its an adventure with a close mate) but im not going to get in the car with a loaded shotgun and tempt fate. One thing Rallying has taught me is to treasure your life. This isn't a game, its serious and if you don't take it serious... you could be dead. Oh and I really wanna give a great thanks to Damo (DJRIFT), I called him at 9am on the sunday morning of scrutineering to come help us with a couple of niggling electrical problems with the car and he was up there in a flash, went over the car with a fine tooth comb and fixed it up all ready for scrutineering and it didn't skip a beat (well up until it spat a headgasket, but we won't blame damo for that one!). Ok enough smack talk from me, here is a link to our run over Rosebery. I think we didn't miss a beat over this one.
  24. Ive got some photo's from monday night with em, but im not sure if they will ever see the light of day.
