Anyone care to shed light on the restricted speed limit/zones in Targa West? Was talkin to me old mate Ben Searcy last night and he said he got a 5 min penalty cos they did the 1km restricted zone in less than a minute?? (45secs to be exact) How the fark does that all work? Seems rediculous to me. I know its about keeping the average speed down to satisfy CAMS, but seems to me like too many variables and you only stand to lose time, particularly if you don't have a GTR that can do warp factor 9.

What are peoples thoughts on actually needing turbo power in a 2wd rally car? Iam not sure, seems to just turn them into a tyre lathe. I say this because we run a 4AGE Sprinter with a massive 80 odd rwkw (Stockish motor with quads) in the Tasmanian rally series and we are keeping up with and even beating some of the 4wd turbo cars. And there is a 2wd N/A SR20 Sunny Gti down here that regularly makes it onto the podium. I think we need that Formula Atlantic engine to keep up with the Gti though!

Its a bit of a grey area really, ive been told drilling into a helmet would void it. Yet as you say HANS say you can do it yourself. Interestingly enough when I got mine from BSMSport I said can you fit it and they said clearly NO! but when i said my helmet already had the holes from the factory they said oh yeh easy. If you did go this way I would strongly suggest a sliding tether and probably quick release posts. I think I am going to get quick release since I am in and out of the car often and its a pain in the ass trying to take it all off in the cabin.

I think yours is a testament to the might of the RB20, 5 days of abuse, many a track day.. all on a stock wrecker motor... and the noise? about 20+ vids on youtube attest to the the sweet XXX rated sound of a 20 on song!

You would still have to run a turbo restrictor as per the PRC regulations. IMHO if you wanted to build a skyline gravel car you could not go past a GTS25 for a cheap, fun, reliable and minimal modifications for dirt. (IE good twinspot calipers with good rotors and pads, which would fit under 15" wheels).

Tell the evo boys that though, a few 2.4 strokers kicking about, shame none of them did much good... really just kidding themselves

You shouldn't necessarily change your car and category just so you can get on the dvd. Not everyone gets on the dvd as ben said and it even states in their policy you aren't gauranteed coverage http://www.targa.com.au/Competitors/Publicity.html If all else fails you could drive through a fence? I wouldn't recommend it though!

Oh the withdrawals!!!! I was planning on buying a POV for the Rally season start next week, but meh too much other crap has come up recently... Maybe if we get one each, multi angle And apparently the POV is good for the bedroom too?
