  1. Yeh i thought something wasn't right, looking at your car with the Kuhmo stickers, but i could clearly see Dunnies. We Ran D03's, but obviously Medium 1 compound (for the shorter event), we didn't get much of a shot at them in the rain though... I think (from reports from other drivers) there is a fair difference over D02's and D03's. We ran D02's at Rally Tas, but neither of us had experienced Semi's before so we didn't know what from what. Haha that guy from Autech was amazing! he picked up that we'd broken a rocker long before we'd even taken the rocker cover off, even with his lack of english, his hand gestures made enough sense to nut it out. Obviously knows how to tune a car well too, Tony and Steves GTR's just dial right up!

Don't think it was the Just Jap car, more likely the Medalist car (Yellow/Purple).
  3. Well like you i already have the Targa Blues, i don't think i could pass the opportunity up!
  4. Mmm yes, THAT car.... the one i couldn't keep my eyes off prior to Cranbrook!
  5. Heres one of car #811 when its was new
  6. Geeze if only we had known there was that delay at Paradise, we broke down in deloraine b4 there with an electrical fault (1 wire!) and thought we had missed it. I checked the results every night and you guys did really well! Your dad must have done a great job without the notes! So you guys going to do anymore rallies this year? IE Rally Burnie or anything? PS car looked really good, i liked the suttle skyline watermark in the blue who did your signwriting?
  7. Due to our broken rocker and cam we were 6 hours behind the field.
  8. I remember coming through there (about 2/3 way through Weldborough Pass?) And seeing that and thinking ouch!
  9. i think the source of their lack of fwd was due to joins in the attessa controller requiring being soldered (correct me if im wrong duncan). I just recall the Just Jap guys mentioning something about it and their very clever guy from Japan picked up on it.
  10. Oh its painful just looking at that pic
  11. What happened to Greg (Targa Tom)? And yes looks like Sullens still holds a 54 sec gap to Richards, how is it possible that car can be so good?
  12. Just noticed on the Rally Fast news that car #811 Hawkins/Warren had a rollover on the Fernglade stage, it says they are ok though. Pitty cos they were doing SO well, i dn't know how bad the damage is but hopefully its not terminal and they might be able to continue tomorrow.
  13. What has happened to Duncan and Kel, I noticed in the results they were still on there up until Longford today and they disappeared???? Hope everything is ok!
  14. Hey Duncan and Kel, it was great to finally meet you guys, shame about your mishaps, hopefully you can go on and finish! We had our own drama's this week which put us out of contention in the Rookie Rallye. On Leg 1 on transport to stage 4 our engine started to mis and finally cut out, source was a broken earth to the coils. We missed stage 4 and went straight on to Sheffield for lunch (to find out if we had have gone through TS04 we would have been given a derived time Did Nookville in the wet and posted the same time as Duncan and Kel! And then dramas hit, half way into the devonport stage we were finally comfortable with our notes and were pushing a bit harder when we lost power and a rattle was coming from the motor. We pulled into an escape route and determined something wasn't right in the OHC area. we limped to Latrobe and found a workshop to pull things apart, Source fo problem: broken rocker on exhaust side cylinder 2. Trailered her back home and replaced the rocker and lifter only to find it had taken a rather large gouge out of the cam. Happened to have a std S14 Ex cam laying around so we chucked her in and got it running, felt a bit down on power and later found it was pinging a bit. Re entered for Leg 2 and placed 3rd through the sideling behind dunkerton and vandenberg with her pinging its tits off and our tyres went off at about 2/3rds way through. Next stage we overheated half way through which put the ecu into safety cut mode. so we had to putt along at 2,000rpm to the finish, its painful watching our base time go by within site of the finish. Source of problem was broken clutch fan, so we stopped at derby and locked it up so it was on all the time (and about 40% down on power!). 4th quickest through Weldborough, 6th through St Marys, 3rd through Elephant pass (some ppl weren't so luck through here!), 5th through Crankbrook (1 sec off 4th). Its so painful when you can't rev the engine right out and it doesn't make any power, it won't pull up the hills or out of corners! Felt quick through Triabunna and was told we were quick through Glenorchy. Not that any of that matters as we were well out of contention. Based on our times we were probably in contention for a solid 3rd in the Rookie Rallye, but hey this is motorsport and you don't always get delt a good hand and everyone can say if, but and maybe. But anyway the bug has truely bitten and we will be back next year in the full event! Good luck to everyone else still competing. Oh and for the record, Dunkerton and Rookie don't fit the same sentence. Vandenberg should have rightfully won.
  15. We did a 3:36.78 in the 200sx with a few hiccups along the way few missed gearchanges and bloody launching off an island! Currently placed 5th in the rookie behind Vandenberg (EVO), Dunkerton (EVO), Maguire(Sti) and Coutts (Sti). So not too bad!
  16. Yeh 3 times the work to tune DJetro, I hear GT Garage (Nick Summers) does a sweet tune on PFC's!
  17. Spotted the BMS II GTR today ben in my very hungover state. Update for us, spent till 2:30am on friday night at the sign writers getting done, developed a miss at symmons on thursday so hopefully that is all good now (think it was just fouled plugs). All the little shit things i am not capable of doing are being done today, and hopefully get some more recce in this arvo. Good Luck to everyone, come say hi and don't be afraid of the pink pussy!
  18. Not sure Trent, Its not mine but a mates. he asked me to do a bit of searching to see if anyone does it... Id imagine bushes & seals? what the hell else can go wrong with a plain bearing turbo? He bought it second hand (well swapped it for a Thumpster).
  19. Just wondering where and what you can do to rebuild a Trust T518z turbo, being mitsubishi based can you just go to say a mitsubishi truck dealer and order parts? or is there someone out there that provides rebuild kits? cheers Tim,
  20. We did some testing at baskerville on the weekend and ended with some pretty good results, a bit more of a tune required, but a few issues like ABS not working and stuff had us stuffed. hopefully they are fixed. more importantly is hopefully our log book turns up this week and our CTP extension papers, otherwise we can't run! a spare $2K wouldn't hurt either.
  21. Progress from last night, engine is in the car. but not after a few drama's, many snapped bolts, incorrectly torqued bolts (came down to machine shop incorrectly advising)... swear words aplenty! (this was all after the block had to go back to machine shop for line boreing and crank machining, and after a ring broke fitting and taking 2 days to get replacement!) Oh and it gets better, a new loom was to go in, but the wrong one was ordered, so its time to play piece the loom back together. Dump pipe wouldn't bolt up to turbo for some strange reason, still gotta build exhaust, plumb it all up and get it ready for pre-scrutineering on monday! To further impede us this weekend is thrown out with round one of the Tas Drift series and Round nine of super sedans on saturday, and round 2 of the Tassie Super Sprints sunday. I see another late night tonight
  22. What sort of clutch you getting ben? Your just making my headache worse ben! i reckon ill be doing that at scrutineering!
  23. reading the bulletin it appears you could put any old tyres on for the DEC stage as it Exhibition, provided marked tyres are back on by the start of the next leg. PS has anyone still not got an engine built nor wired up, tuned or run in? The HEAT is on!
  24. f**k these underground khana's at Archers! I always miss them!
  25. you only put this up cos i reminded you
