  1. Whos going? Far out I got alot on this weekend, Drift Saturday, Speedway Sat night and TSS Sunday. See you there.
  2. buy a new centre then with a mechanical lsd, it will be pricey, but better in the long run. if your single spinning now, shimming it won't help much. You can really only shim a diff if its in good order to begin with. if you try and shim a worn diff it will be the same if not worse pretty quick.
  3. I would say Gary Luttrell at Challenge Motors if you were in Launceston, he seems to be the bee's knees with gearbox and diffs up here.
  4. Yeh funny that, we want to do it but can't find any info out about it! Its got full rego, better go see the broker at lunch and have a chat. I just wasn't sure if it was something you had to get added to your rego, or it was a separate policy you had to take out. Haha Greg, surely your car is closer than ours!
  5. Can anyone enlighten me a bit on the 3rd Party Compulsary Insurance for cars registered in QLD? Our car is still regoed in QLD and I believe we need to have this, but question is how? and how much?
  6. Greg what do you mean here exactly?
  7. We found with our Terratrip that it was dead accurate on transport, but through hellyer it was WAY out, im guessing the sensor got too hot?
  8. Ive seen one of these fitted up and on start up oil pissed out the housings, it didn't have any seals! The brand for reference was Zaharett
  9. We don't really have time to make our own note, so we end up just buying some and doing a run over them and putting any changes in neccessary. Used Vandenberg's for Rally Tas not sure who we use for Targa but the name Laurie Pitt rings a bell? Anyway Vandenberg's weren't too bad, didn't mind them at all
  10. How expensive are we talking?
  11. Yeh the guy I did Rally Tas with is keen to do it if we get some sponsors! Our new engine is being built as we speak for Targa (long story)
  12. he has tamed the power output somewhat hasn't he?
  13. I got one from hypertech a few years back as a gift for my brother. however i cannot find their website anymore. it was an R34 and you could change the wheels and all that
  14. Im deadly considering a HANS device, $1500 is cheaper than a broken neck!
  15. Black sparkly S14 200sx-r (you would know it, its load shooting material). Wore a set out coming into savage (i think most ppl did), its not too tyre friendly with all the body roll. Its understandable stu, no one wants to be repairing their cars all the time, but i guess its the risk you take when you take your car out there. Close racing is the best though, its almost boring watching a spread field. There were black marks on the rear bumper of his car too, but i didn't hear him complaining, thats racing. (sorry im not trying to get up you, your the one out there racing and im standing on the sideline), but it just annoys me what ppl keep saying about it, sure its not ideal, but it does a bloody good job for what it is! As for mods, i wouldn't call pedders lowered springs a mod! What has yours got (done to it)
  16. if your still concerned about headgasket (albeit doesn't sound like it), get a leak down test done. You have spent a bit of coin with Kutzie so im sure he wouldn't mind taking the time to do this (if he has one).
  17. Funny you should say that, i have heard the same about DBA's but not seen it in the flesh. Yes I have done a bit of homework since and come to realise that the ds3000 don't operate well from cold (although they crap on about having really good initial bite?). The Driver doesn't like DS2500's either so we'll be scrapping the idea of Ferodo's. Looking into Project Mu now, Titan HCs sound ok with an operating temp from 0-800 or thereabouts. Time to hit up some sponsors me thinks
  18. DBA don't appear to make the 5000's for R32 GTR calipers (296x32). Only 4000's... or is that just as stated in the catalogue?
  19. You just upgrade it, hastle Terry Curtain! we got one organised 3 days before the event! However your GTR would probably have to Run Targa A as its based on lap times, so unless you have 6 piston calipers all round, a sequential box and about 700hp, you'll never catch andrew lawson.
  20. That stupid thing was running in the top 20 at Rally Tas the weekend before, surrounded by EVO's, STI's, Porsches and Lambo's... I don't see whats so stupid about it, its really not that much different to a monaro or commodore.
  21. definately gotta say go genuine nissan. I have both genuine and aftermarket and the genuine is definately much better! why save money when you'll probably be changing it again in 6 months time
  22. Tony Alford ran these on his GTR at Rally Tasmania a few weeks back. He had the 8 piston 356mm up front and some 6 piston (i assume 324mm) up rear. Didn't mention anything about brake issues, however he was having a dog of a time chasing some other issue which they believe was a ball joint issue causing something (unable to pick) to hit on the rotor. See how they go in Targa in 2 months time.
  23. Just looking at options for brake pads to run in our Targa car and these pads seem to have cropped up in my search. Car is an S15 which we will be running R32 GTR calipers on the front and brembo's on the rear (brembo's we had up front don't fit under standard rims which we have to run for Targa). Will also be getting new rotors, what are peoples recommendations here? DBA4000's? 5000's? Ive heard these pads heat up a fair bit so im guessing alloy hats will aid in cooling somewhat. Any suggestions are welcomed. Cheers Tim,
  24. Yeh pretty much, maybe i should just get a set of powermax or something I reckon Blacks would be more likely. I keep looking at these Ferodo DS3000's though.... someone must have used them!
  25. Adam mention Hawk Blacks, but i know nothing about them. and you know what he says to me? Navigators job, you find out (common response now).
