Yeh i saw it pull a 235 and that chick spat it and threw something at the car.. then it pulled like 260-80. it popped an intercooler pipe first time round, but man it was running like a dog.. actually alot of cars were running doggish that i saw. nice display though! i particularly loved the white 26 powered r31. i was over with the platinum boys from tassie, we were stoked with it all.. and surprised that we took home 2 trophys cars such as MYSHOW and OSMANS etc do not interest me in the slightest.. what f*ck stain spends $50K gold plating his engine bay? much prefered the tough cars!

  5. nahh Brad Sherriff that works at Chris Colgrave bought it and has it in a workshop for dyno runs and tuning.. if anyones interested i can get u his number as i got a flyer the other day. He also has lupo that used to work at Reid Racing working with him i believe

  10. yeh been told by Leigh from Platinum that we are meeting up with BLKCRX??? Phat R33 said he is keen to meet up with some SAU boys so that would be cool.
  11. hmm ok, ill look into it... the guy building it builds race engines. what turbo should i look at then? i can get a brand new GT3040 for ~$2000 + external gate, but i feel this may be a bit too big for my requirements?

  13. Do i need Forgies for an engine thats only gonna see round 15psi and probably 300/350rwhp if im lucky? Spoke to some guys that get their engines built at the particular place, said he swears by ACL Race Series pistons. On another note one of these guys took me for a spin in his VH Commodore equipt with RB20DET, HKS T300, External Gate, FMIC, EMS and Launch Control, was bloody quick!
  14. Due to the lack of engine bay space my thermo's are mounted in front of the radiator? i question the wiring as to the direction of flow but i could be wrong. keeps it cool and thats all that matters. FMIC might be what the doctor ordered in relation to the over cooling problem.
  15. Ok its been inevitable for the last 8 months, I need a new block! I am looking at 1 thats located in melbourne just gotta get it crack tested etc I have access to Nissan Genuine Parts at good prices (friend works there). I also have access to a good engine builder, who is also a family friend so it can be done at good price. my thoughts are if the block is in good condition give it a light hone and use my current pistons with a new set of rings, rebuild it using std genuine nissan bearings, gaskets etc. not touching the head. my other idea was if it needs to be bored rebuild it using something like forged pistons, but i am not too keen on the cold startup slap of this type, so maybe something like ACL race pistons or those hyperautetic (spelling?) pistons. O-ringing the head and buying a phat turbo. Power output i was originally aiming for was 200rwkw and i believe this can be achieved with the std turbo and injectors? but will go for more power once i understand what my limits are. I have a Microtech MT/LT8 and a GReddy Profec B EBC, current power output is ~174rwkw at 12psi, will be upgrading to a FMIC and Dump/Front pipe before car goes back on the road also. have about $2/4K to play with cheers Tim,

  17. Yeh the std radiator is crap, ive got a custom alloy radiator with twin 12" Davies Craig thermo's... round town its between 74-84 degree's, on the highway it was getting as low as 69 which i may have to make some changes to. having trouble with the switching on the microtech.
  18. how does the VG30 turbo rate on an RB25? they are steel wheel/shaft right? whats the difference in A/R to the RB25 turbo?
  19. ive been offered a block (don't know how bare) to replace my current one and rebuild/freshen up. what sorta things do i need to know about it to see if its worth getting?
  20. Yeh he was gonna buy a Ford Territory, but after the bad reviews at late regarding suspension links, bushes, and control arms breaking along with the horrid fuel consumption, he was very against owning one! are manuals hard to come by? ive heard that the auto leaves alot to be desired

  23. the old L series are built tough!! i know of many that seem to go on forever if looked after.. i have 2 bluebirds with L20B's at home and one has done 350,000+ kms (speedo stopped) and thats my daily driver it still goes really well and doesn't hessitate to start.. my dad even said to me he was surprised it didn't blow any smoke! the other one blew a head gasket due to a broken waterline which ran through the inlet manifold. $30 head gasket and she'll be good! and my L28 snaps the tacho round quicker than the RB does! why not go twin turbo blow through mikuni's?? haha has anyone else seen that S14 in japan with the L31 setup like that?
