  7. any takers on the fuel regulator scream? any idea which way around the rail goes?? i would have though its right but won't hurt to double check
  8. Ok so i have spent the whole week prepping my car to get back on the road. Jumped in and gave the starter motor a crank, ok but the engine wasn't firing, i then noticed i couldn't hear the fuel pump with the ignition on. probed every wire/relay etc in the engine bay to find it all fine. checked the wiring into the tank, hmm wasn't too sure what was what so i traced it back. Didn't appear to have power on it. so ran a wire to test fuel pump, worked. we are running a new wire from the relay now. but then when i was testing the problem, i noticed the fuel filter leaked and my malpassi was making a really bad screaming noise. i thought maybe i had the fuel rail lines around the wrong way??? anyway it was a sunday and when i went to swap them over they needed replacing. the guy i bought the car off mentioned that the filter had leaked before and he had replaced it, but i could find a better quality one maybe?? and why is the malpassi making a screaming noise? is it stuffed?? i figured it wasn't even very old finally does the old regulator on the RB25 rail need a vacuum line to it if its not in use? PS im running a bosch 400hp pump, and was a little surprised to find it was using the std power wire and it hadn't been upgraded.
  9. Hehe, i don't have a missus, frankly don't want one and not looking at having kids.. OUCH! i sound like a rite asshole! Im in the same boat though, i spend between 50-150 a week on alcohol, not enough on my car, and save as little as possible.. hmm maybe thats why i have 2 cars in the backyard! engine went back in the silvia last weekend, spent last three nights this week re wiring and fitting, tomorrow its fluids and a start, spruce it up and get rego! no doubt ill be married and have kids by the time im 30 odd!
  10. yeh know where it is, any idea on ability to get in and out, for the lower cars??? u have to cater for them else they won't come!!
  11. Im sure Anthony from Maztech wouldn't mind flying over to tune it for you at the right price!
  12. somewhere close to town preferably... Newtown, CSIRO, Sandybay as you would understand its not cheap to drive al the way down from launceston and then get lost trying to find something out in the sticks
  13. Ok i beleive my RB25DET has a CA18DET starter motor on it, which quite frankly sounds like i am starting a datto up. ive ben looking around but there isn't much available for R33 starter motors. Then i figured if i have a CA18 motor maybe something else from the silvia family would fit? Or does somebody have an appropriate motor sitting round they could sell me cheaply? Cheers Tim,
  14. I have sent a PM but got no reply, i am genuinely interested in the starter motor and alternator if still available
  15. Seeing as a group of us are heading down to hobart on the 31st fro Koolism, i think it would be appropriate to maybe meet up, or go for a small cruise. i have discussed this with a few guys off NS.com and they are keen as mustard to do it. cruise wouldn't be huge long ass thing cos i know all you guys like to fill up at certain places (don't blame you). Never know i might even have my car running by then and registered etc let me know your interest so i can try make arrangements
  16. i bought it ages ago
  17. ive had little success through the shifter hole. castrol gear oil comes in a squeeze bottle about 1 litre in size and has like a nozzle on the end, that works ok.. other than that i use a tube going into the side filler hole, hang the tube from higher height and stick a funnel in the other end of the tube and use the laws of gravity to do the work for me.
  18. yeh its rediculous, can't get it over here and if so it costs $$$$$$$$$ yet in vic its liek a few cents dearer than ULP
  19. i know a guy with a 200b SSS coupe Fj20ET its toffaz!!! can any one say 4th gear on the brakes??? (it makes alot of smoke!!)
  20. this guy is located in brisbane i believe if u wanna look/chat
  21. yeh the whole lot; cntrl arms, hubs, suspension etc i think there was a problem with swapping the strut tops, not 100% sure, but i know u need to use coilovers because the std spring is too wide and hits the tower on full lock. they are all drilling their strut towers out for the different stud pattern, cos its IS stupidly different (Hey isn't that like a big no no from nissan/datsun??? everything is supposed to be bolt on swap!!!)
  22. yeh my mum said its a real good pizza, never tried one myself... should grab some one night!
