  2. yeh boost controller can have somethingto do with it, not too likely.. but a mate had a turbosmart dualstage and its was just plain shit removed it and was 10 times better. get a profec b or something similar ive have one and its seriously a good thing and fairly cheap

I wanted it because i like torque. in my case it didn't weigh very much as when i put it on the boat, it was chock a block full of stuff (eg tyres, rims, full set of suspension, new brakes kit, spare parts etc. then the back seat was taken up with another rim and tyre) it was seriously packed full. and it came in under 1300kgs on the scales. i didn't do the conversion, was going to do a similar one, but with a new job and stuff didn't have the time. here is a shot of the engine bay. it has been mounted very low in the engine bay (in fact sump is a bit too low to ground without some form of protection). and with coilovers it handles extremely well. i gave a highly modded 180sx a run through some windy hills at very excess speeds (right hand side of the speedo). kept up and past him quite easily. makes for a very different car to drive. is very easy to drive.

  6. don't want to kick anyone in the balls here, but i think this is a great idea for stock ecus, and although SAFC is ok you can't really connect it up and data log. so although its only $400 it doesn't do a great deal (almost a bandaid solution). so i think what impakt has developed is fantastic cos i know my microtech although its only $1200, by the time it got fireware upgraded (to support engine) + dash, + Software, + cable and dongle it was well over $2K. not tuned. just a question, do these work with say and SR20?? i know tonnes of tuners out there that would kill for something like this in their cars (know a guy who writes maps and makes daughter boards for SRs). cheers

RB30S VL Commodore (New Zealand model) CA16DE EXA (the targa top ones) CA20S S3 Bluebird RB20E Skyline pov pack (apparently these even come in a NEO form in R34s??) and ive seen a video with an r31 coupe with an RB24 of some sort with triple carbs and a heap of stuff done to it and it sounded horn!
  8. Why not fit a removable silencer to your tip? and have a Cat shroud put where the cat goes. Thats all the cops notice down here. hell cars get roadworthy down here without cats

Which is why you port match the manifold to the head and the turbo and then have it power ported to remove the shit you cant get to. this drops the zorst temps down 40deg. having the exhaust housing done also help with efficiency. watch the boost rise though!!! sorry but i am a big believer in power porting some ppl can't afford big turbos and A/M manifolds. been down that route.

  11. yes gtr bonnets stop at the top of the headlights and have a grill, gts t bonnet continues all the way down inplace of the grill. have a look at some pics of r32s its hould be fairly obvious

  16. i don't know how you are getting that much power out of it??? ive had the bottom end rebuilt, balanced etc, head was tidyed up, flat top pistons (high comp), AFM modded by datrally, exhaust manifold modded and 2 1/2" mandrel bent zorst. to dat i can only churn up ~84rwkw. and ive been told with headwork,cam,injectors, ported manifold,65m throttlebody,extractors and a decent engine management that i can only get 250hp out of the thing.

  18. So whats the deal with GCG turbos? do they change over the core, or rebuild it? are they using a bigger comp housing or just opening it up and fitting a T4 wheel in? could someone tell me where gcg are located? ie city/state?
  19. ive got 40mm strut spacers and lowered springs in the front of my MR and although it still has guard clearance (2 fingers) its pretty damn low, i was concidering going lower but if i get ths front spoiler i don't want to be a street sweeper

    Clubs

    cruises are ok, can be heaps of fun, but they can also be dangerous, if anyone can remeber the cruise back from andy's bakery in westbury. that could have ended in disaster easily. i would personally rather track days, hill climbs, drift comps and drags
  21. hmm i wonder if thats the same guy in a puple xr6 (non turbo) that wanted to race me one night at punchbowl? think we had him and his mated convinced that it wasn't turbo and the piping (for the intercooler) was just triple air filters. he also told us that he can beat any skyline in town cos they are slow. if he works at coles its definately him

Hey yeh can't see why you wouldn't want to do it, is the current VG30 a ET or E? i found them a to be fairly breathless and in auto form very bland. you might even find that the R32 Xmember would go close, id love to see it, sick of the same old. if you real adventurous go a RB26 in it!.. second thoughts beer budget is gonna stretch the 25 as long as it can go. this is gonna sound bad and your gonna hit me.. but how about a 1JZGTE?
  24. I don't i only have about ~170rwkw on 12psi, and ive never run 12 psi either cos i get boost spike over 10psi, mainly cos i only got the stocko silvia cooler. and i don't really feel like detonating my engine right now with the hot weather we have had and bad fuel.
