Yeh was speaking to the guy who is helping me rebuild engine, he said turbo wise (in order) get wastegate opened up, power port exhaust housing, send exhaust housing and core off, use T04 comp wheel, XTR T04 comp housing, he still hasn't made a decision on what turbine wheel to use but was thinking a 57 trim would probably be well suited and the exhaust housing would need to be machined out accordingly. Now i am not sure how much GCG charges to fit and balance the core with the new trim wheels on it, nor machine the exhaust housing. but am i correct in saying the XTR T04 comp covers are only $200? anyway i don't know jack bout turbo's thats why this guy is helping me out and is why i am asking the question.
  2. yes but majority is only 95RON. Caltex Vortex Gold is good 96RON stuff. just try to stick to the major stations that are busy.

  4. didn't think just adding an exhaust to a car would give that much of an increase in power? i thought you would need zorst, air filter, boost and tune to get near the 180rwkw figure, everyone that i know (including me) who has the above mentioned mods (note stock dump pipe) are getting around the 175rwkw on 11-12psi.
  5. Umm i think R33 seat would be a good one to try, i know that R33 seats fit in a 910 Bluebird, they may have the width you need
  6. yeh good example is my car it has a malpassi rising rate regulator, running stock fuel pressure into stock injectors, being pumped by a 044 Bosch.

How much would it cost to get a steel wheel on my turbo and have it hi flowed by GCG? i intend on having the housings power ported to increase flow, and want the wastegate opened up as far as it can go/is necessary. i don't wany to run any more than 15-20psi will this get me 400hp at the fly? that is the target and i don't really want any more than that. what do you reckon is the go? is that too much to ask? i am also going to get the manifolds power ported while i am at it.
  9. this wouldn't be related to the tune, but i know when a flange broke on my exhaust it sounded different then once warmed up it went away. until i got beach on a speed hump that is and it wrecked my zorst totally

  11. its only for pull type BOVs i think eg HKS SSQ. any other bov won't normally stall a car

    Clubs

    a couple of us have 'been' on tassie cruise club cruise's, they usually aren't huge. i know for a fact that hobart cruise club has huge cruises and its real organised. elysium and platinum usually have decent cruises to devonport, few out to undisclosed locations (cops shut them down).
  15. wolf 3d use a MAP sensor. i think the stock power figure is like 130hp at fly. nothing really wrong with the engine, but seeing as my L28E is putting out about 180hp it seams a bit weak for a turbo car. so like you said, RB20/25 turbo, FMIC, boost and the addition of the wolf3d would make it a much better car. you may find you will need bigger injectors though chasing that power figure

  18. yeh that car was off its tits oh and i think it was Jason driving as its his car. John has the R34. was incredibly quick, until i later saw it with clouds of smoke from the rear. actually saw it out at symmons plains a few months back, but it was pulled ... out engine sounded horrid. can't say i have any problems with Z's John and yours is a good benchmark for others to try and achieve.

    one of my mates has been through 3 CA motors in his silvia, for various reasons, its good though they are cheap
  22. if you got the cash and really wanna do it go for it, remeber you can sell the old engine,box, and ecu off. main difference in engines is smaller bore/stroke, heads don't flow quite as much, turbo doesn't flow quite as much (im just plucking these from my head). will make drivability better with more low down torque etc

  24. Nahh Nahh, its gotta be either a big Lexus (LS/SC430), or a Tahoe, or Yukon. maybe even a range rover? But don't you dare put em on a Line.
