  1. i have a similar noise comming from rear hub/axle area. it only happens on initial takeoff and on high boost/rpm. i am guessing its sub frame or axles or something.
  2. reason i posted the silvia up is because they are cheap car in japan to begin with, ala why so many are drift cars. and in japan they recycle their cars like nothing on earth, doesn't rego get more $$$ the older the car is?
  3. I am sure alot of you guys would agree, it would be good if you could find out the full history of a car before you buy it. when i bought my silvia i bought it for a reason RB25DET. and from the pics it looked in good nick. since picking it up from the boat i noticed; drivers door handle has been damaged almost beyond repair (around the actual handle). drivers door has hit a curb when opened, noticable pin dents. Left side has obviously been in an accident as FL control arm replaced, Left guard bulges out and is too close to the door (also no inner guard). scrape type ding behind door (much larger than described). paint job is not in very good order (paint on roof has that white look which won't polish out). wheel alignment showed that rear control arms are obviously either bent or need new bushes etc etc was also once an auto, bear in mind that it only has 105K on the clock and 130K on the actual car (replaced at some stage). and the interior is in reasonable condition. so even though there is these things wrong with it im still happy with the car, even though now its off the road to have a severe problem fixed with the engine. you buy a cheap car you get what you paid for
  4. haha Tony, the worst possible feeling in the world is after you have been driving something with power (R33 etc) then go and jump into a POS datsun bluebird that is on its last legs (has next to no compression), when you put your foot down and go nowhere its a worry, come to think of it i jumped into my mums v6 camry after driving my mates R33 and even that felt like something was wrong with it.
  5. NO i haven't but is this to do with having a pull type bov like a HKS super Sequential which are open at idle? i'd like to hear one cos only car i heard one on was a WRX. oh and we put my Sard BOV on Pauls 33 and it still idled, until the bung we put in the return pipe for the stock bov popped out.
  6. yes every day i do it? why is the oil pressure a bit lower? how come temp is a lil high, whats that noise? its bad! another one is do you cringe when you see another fellow revving the date out of a stone cold engine, or when they are sitting there doing a cook at 8K for 10 minutes on an engine that should only be revved to maybe 6K at the most?? not to mention the axle and hub got so hot it melted the nuts and stubs. you get that shudder through your spine when you witness this kinda stuff
  7. yeh theres plenty going round
  8. hmm why not wire it up via a relay switching from the ON position on the Key barrel and then tap into a permenant source of power. i can't imagine that there is anything special about the power source the ciggy lighter uses. just remember to use a fuse where you tap into the permenant power source. you do know electronics don't you taz?
  9. hmm my mates car had this funny little box in the fuse box, when i turned it over it said 'Tomei HICAS Lock' checked under the car and its al still there, but it doesn't steer Cool
  10. Yeh they are certainly a different car with an RB under the hood!! still surprised with the traction of it!!
  11. that would have been fun, i love the 930's especially the moby dick
  12. the T Sport ones? under $100
  13. hmm mine wasn't that exciting, was a standard as Pulsar ET, it didn't excite me at all. can't remember any other turbo cars i drove after that until i drove a mates R33. She bangs!!!

just about anyone can be some sort of marshall, the majority are just to set up the stage and or just keep an eye on things to put it plainly (keep crowds back a safe distance etc). you get to see some good action in this position, but you don't really do anything. My dad is a chief marshall and he requires a CAMS licence for that. I am just a runner good thing to do cos you get to meet all the drivers.

yeh really wanted to go up, unfortunatelly travel didn't permit. and someones got to get my car(s) back on the road! Im a marshall for Targa, but i dunno if i am gonna be able to do it, with work commitments and Uni, hopefully my boss lets me have it off

  19. watch High Octane 3 and 4 to see a gts4 with rb26
  20. what is a set of brembos worth? i mean for 2 discs? yeh i wouldn't go the DBAs mate put some on his stock R30 12 months ago and they are warped to buggery
  21. yeh and the resistor thing that you speak is as ghostrider said a slight waste. my AFM was adjusted internally at the flap by Datrally in melb and they spent a long time doing it and many dyno runs till it was right not something you should really frig with especially when you don't even know where the AFM is on your car
