  5. Hi all i am after a Cat back system for my S13 Silvia, has to be atleast 3" and can be a straight through type looking for one that has a cannon N1 style muffler angled out drift style basically any Apexi N1, HKS hi power or a TRUST system would be real good. Cheers Tim

Jason Whites R34 is a damn competitive car, he competes in the octagon series down here and i think the only reason he doesn't win is he has had terrible problems with blown head gaskets and turbos. Oh but i should correct you its actually John his uncle who owns and races the car, Jason himself campaigns a 300zx which is a mad beast, however jason does drive it in Targa tasmania. Their car would have to be one of the stockest in the octagon series, and they have the knowledge, money and experience to be on the podium come sunday. I can't see why they shouldn't be able to race in Procar series

Hmm, ive already got a RB25DET head and i have access to several complete RB30 blocks all in ok cond for cheap they would really only need bearings and rings and freshen up Im not to worried if it costs a little bit, but i don't want to spend any more than $3k (ive got everything else in place ECU, fuel system etc)

I really need to know whats the deal with this swap as i am going to look at a VL Sii block this weekend and i want to know if its worth my while doing ths swap, or just get a new RB25 block? i also want to know more about the VCT mod that you guys are doing cos it doesn't seem too clear to me
  9. well i got sent a gates belt from Unique autosport, it was too wide and too long invoice said RB25DET, that was $95 plus postage plus week to get here(overnight my ass) i ended up going to PABs 10min drive and getting a gates one for $135 (expensive, but worked out the same as the one from unique with postage) and it actually fitted sadly my block is crack and unrepairable, so i am going to have to source one and rebuild it, weighing up my options for an RB30DET conversion

    do you have red calipers? i think i saw you last sunday 7th arvo/evening on wellington st i was in my commuter (white Bluey TRX). my car is not gonna be on the road for a long time, have to get a full engine rebuild
  11. I have a crack in my current RB25DET block, and i have heard all the storys about the RB30, so i have been looking into it for a while now. Ok so from what i can tell i need a S2 RB30 block to make things a little easier, new pistons? (i would like to run same comp as current setup). And basically rebuild the whole bottom end. no big deal what cost are you looking at for those hyperetetic? pistons and if you are chasing no more than 400 crank hp can you just use ACL pistons? what i want to know is what have ppl done with the oil gallery for the VCT on the RB25DET head? i would like to retain this if at all possible. How much is the JUN oil pump thing? what turbo can you use? I deally i would love to use a HKS GT30 or similar but at this current time and short notice of engine rebuild funds do not permit. I was thinking a VG30 turbo and possibly high flow or atleast enlarge the wastegate? i am going to get my inlet and exhaust manifolds power ported at the same time. i have been told this causes over fueling which may mean i can use the injectors still? Running a microtech at the moment by the way so tuning is not a problem. any help would be greatly appreciated, i am so pissed off that i have only had my car 2 months and not really lit the wick in terms of power (driven to work mainly) and this happens, car was pretty much doctored up to sell (waterpump coated inside with heaps of water sealant crap). but hopefully its going to benefit me in some way. Imagine Hybrid car with hybrid engine? yes please!!

  13. Yep mate same thing, im just doing one in mine now. they only need to be replaced every 50-100,000 Kms not sure someone may be able to help me out there. i doubt u would do that much in 6 months.
  14. hey my parts finally arrived today, the blet i got is a Gates, it doesn't appear to have any markings on it to help with lining it up with cam gears? any suggestions??
  15. Yeh theres a few ways about the -ve camber on the rear, K Mac sell offset bushes which counteract it a bit. the best way though is what dat sport does, fully adjustable bout $5-$600 for that and its a bloody good job

  19. Ive got a SARD bov on my car and it sounds awesome, has several different noises depending on how much you are boosting it. What i want to know is its adjustable between Hard and Soft, meaning you twist it either direction for desired result. i had my car at a display night for Speedy Tyres and the bonnet was popped, i am pretty sure someone was friggin with me BOV, so as a safety measure i wound it to hard. i haven't really played with it other than that but what is it gonna do when its soft? also i have 2 mates 1 with a R31 GTSx RB20 stock + FMIC, and one with a S13 CA18 also stock + Apexi BOV under accelleration both their cars make a really cool screaming sound? why is that?
  20. My car runs a malpassi rising rate std injectors and a 400hp bosch pump, i was told that the malpassi is set pretty much to std pressure, what am i going to benefit by winding it up? i have not yet lit the wick with the boost side of things, only about 9-10psi (car tuned on 12psi)

  23. yeh you can get heavy duty clutches for them i have one in my R30. Over all its not worth the hastle to try turboing your L24E it would be far more practical just to put a good 2 1/2" exhaust, maybe some extractors, change the air intake (ie cut hole in top of air box or modify to fit pod filter) then have the mixtures adjusted on the AFM by a professional. will be a fun car the 6 cylinder L series sound awesome with an exhaust. i had all this and alot more to my R30 including worked L28E
  24. There is heaps of magazines with RB S13s in them typical cost for conversions range from about $6k-$12K, thats pretty much stock conversions with RB20/25 to RB26s have you checked nissansilvia.com for any think there is a few on there inc a $30K+ RB25DETT S13 which is immac
  25. paid $12.5K for mine which is good for what i got, but it did have a few dints etc which ill need to get fixed, the sump is bashed up (suspect from when engine was imported) suspension is a little tired ie i am replaceing all bushes in the rear + a few control arms. just replacing the water pump and timing belt on it as we speak. Im not saying the guy i bought it off is dodgy its what you get with a car of that age that hasn't had huge $$$ spent on it. what i am trying to say is check it out thoroughly, i really couldn't check mine out as it was in another state, but i would still have bought it anyway its a good car.
