Shell replied to PranK's topic in Events Archive
Yep i think that was it Bonkers!! hehe Majanal, if we're visiting pubs, i sure as hell ain't driving -
Hi AkEaKe, welcome to the forum have you been to Australia before, or will this be your first visit? How long will you be here for?
-
well i saw The Fat...for all you guys that want a copy of it, I wouldn't bother...it was mostly them teaching Paul Walker how to throw an AFL football and sledge other players (was very funny!!). There's a few quick cuts to the cars, and he launches right at the end (like Mario said) but they hardly showed any of that stuff

Hi all this is mostly for SAU NSW members, although we are a new club and some questions are not totally relevent... This guy must have got my details from the CAMS site, and he is asking for help for his major assignment. I thought I'd post it up here, and if anyone wants to help him out...I'm sure he'd appreciate it. Please just copy n paste the questions along with your answers into an email and send to [email protected] ------------------------ Dear Sir/Madam, My name is Daniel Connor and i am a year 12 student from Coffs Harbour, NSW and i have a great passion for cars. I am currently studying Society and Culture and am in the process of completing my major assessment - Personal Interest Project. For my project I am looking at the significant changes in Australian car clubs over the past 20 years. I am searching for reasons for these changes, and the affects the changes have had on the car club community in Australia. I was wondering if you would be able to complete this small survey I have attached. This survey will help me greatly in my research. The more I am able to get the better, so if you know of any other members who might fill one out, could you either let me know, or you could forward a blank one through. Also, if you have any other information that might be of interest to me, I would love to hear from you. I would be glad to send you the findings after my research is complete, let me know if your interested. Thank you so much for your time. Questionnaire 1. How long have you been a car club member? i) Less than 1 year ii) 1-5 years iii) 5-10 years iv) 10+ 2. What influenced you the most in becoming involved with a car club? i) Family ii) Friends iii) Other 5. How do other people not in the club usually react to you, when they find out you are a member? i) Positively ii) Negatively iii) Neutral 6. Do other members of your family support your passion for cars? i) Yes ii) No 7. Do you think the media (e.g. newspaper, TV, radio) support and encourage car club activities? i) Yes ii) No 8. Do you think car club interest and membership is likely to increase over time? i) Yes ii) No Why/why not? 9. Have you noticed any changes in membership/outside attitudes to car clubs in the last 10 years? i) Yes ii) No If yes, what changes? 10. Anyone With Standard Suspension?? I Need Help...
Shell replied to Jay95R33's topic in General Maintenance
No probs Jay if you need it for anything else, just give us a yell... and just FYI, it was closer to half a tank than a full one (i had a qik look at the fuel guage when i drove off)...musta used more fuel than i thought... -
well i only have standard boost, so that can't be causing any problems um, i have no idea about the gaps, a workshop put them in for me. They deal with Rotaries and all turbo Jap cars so surely they would known to gap them right? anyway, thanks for all your help, I'll get the plugs replaced (and tell em to make sure the gaps are right!) and see how we go!
-
thank guys, yeah i thought it might be the plugs... I have platinum plugs that were put in about 20,000kms ago. She's due for a service, so i'll make sure I get them replaced at the same time.
-
Good idea, but the problem is that we need people's signatures. It's scanned and put on the back of your card
-
hi all got a little problem with my car... when I rev to about 5 grand, it starts lurching....ie. it revs, then splutters, then revs again, then splutters again, kinda like it's missing? Sort of like the power is cutting in and out? any idea what this could be? It does it in all the gears. thanks for any help Shell
-
skylinedude, I think that's a good price. Good luck to your bro, like you said, Geoff will be able to find him heaps to choose from for a similar price
-
Paul Walker was interviewed by Richard Wilkins on the Today show the other morning. They were standing between an MR2 and a Supra i think it was. They got in one each and drove off, not fast - cos it looked like they were inside a showroom. The interview was kinda funny, RW asked him if he thought the movie encourages people to street race and speed etc, and also told him that the movie won't win him any Oscars LOL Saw some snippets of the R34 when they showed a few bits of the movie

Shell replied to PranK's topic in Events Archive
rofl @ Roy :bahaha: Majanal...dunno, um i didn't see a drive in? it was on the Western highway or whatever it's called, and it had a driveway into it, and was kind of all on it's own (ie, just paddocks and stuff around it). It was about 5-10 mins from EC heading back towards Parramatta... -
GunMetalR33, no I don't.... I probably should have one, I might get around to it one day

SAU Quarterly meeting - Sunday 1st of June 2003 *** VENUE CHANGE ***
Shell replied to PranK's topic in Events Archive
I'll be there! Duncan, I happened to pass a pub while leaving Eastern Creek last Sunday that seemed to have a nice beer garden with no one in it Can't remember what it was called...it was heading back towards Parramatta... -
considering the amount of traffic he gets, probably quite a few people, cereal PRO_32, I read on PF that he was looking for new hosting, due to the amount of downloads and stuff.....might be something to do with that.
-
My pod is already on and no, J&J (Pty Ltd) didn't do it hehe hey, jnr_j.....I work in Fyshwick too, where are you at? I'm down in Wiluna St.
-
I would just like to thank Dino for apoligising on my behalf (twice!) Being stuck for an hour and a half trying to leave Eastern Creek was not my idea of fun, and I'm pissed off that I missed our first AGM I will be at the quarterly meeting on 1st June!

Skylines Australia 2003 AGM Minutes Members Present Toulia Lee Neil De Pau Melinda De Pau Dan Mackie Carlo Nizeti Brendan Faulds Non-Members Present Ben Fallowfield Layne Visser Minutes taken by George M due to the secretary’s absence Meeting start time : 17:45 04/05/03 Apologies: Dino apologises on Shells behalf, she was caught in traffic and sends her apologies. ------------- Presidents Report Thanks to everyone who made the effort to turn up and hopes we have a good year ahead of us. Vice Presidents Report Dino puts forward a notion to vote by hands for our first AGM only and to carry on with a ballot system hereafter. Carlo seconds that. Paul wishes to apologise for general laziness of the SAU NSW execs. Hopes that everyone understands how hard it has been getting this thing off the ground and makes mention of how the club came about when Christian and himself planned it a while ago. Also wants to say that the execs deserve another year in current positions to really get things working the way they planned before passing on the positions to other club members. Treasurers Report Happy to report we have a balance of $2575 in the bank, cash on hand was $181 and our assets comprise of one ‘Esky’. Secretary’s Report Dino again apologises on her behalf and is happy to report that Shell is doing a fantastic job. Her workload is fairly big and hopes some new positions can be created to help her. ------------- General Discussion George puts forward that we need new positions one being Marketing Officer and the second being a Members Recruitment Officer. There is general consent and Dino seconds both notions. Other sub positions will be created so we are looking for keen volunteers and after a short term they will be voted upon for permanent positions. ------------- Events Organiser Report Dan wishes to thank George and rest of execs for giving him the chance to be the events co-ordinator. Gives us a summary on the Show n Shine he has planned for the club. Will be held on the long weekend in October being the 5th or 6th. Looking for a good turnout from all members, non-members and general public. HPI will most likely cover this event and do a write up in their magazine. Hopefully Zoom might do the same. An engineer will be present on that day to give free advice to the public. Hopes we can also enter a few cars in the Final Battle which will be held around Oct-Nov. President to write to Mario, Munro from Perth and Terry Ashwood (Gibson GTR) in the hope they might be interested to showcase their cars. Await for an update next meeting. ------------- Non-Exec nominees, being Brendan and Carlo for V-P, put forward their case for the role. Both sound very keen for the role. Will be voted on at end of meeting. George puts forward that we hold quarterly meetings being held on the first Sunday of each season. Christian seconds that. Paul puts forward that if an exec member looses in their bid for a position they can run for another position.
