Woman arrested after #police pursuit – Goulburn by NSW Police Force on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 11:37pm A woman has been arrested and is expected to be charged under Skye’s Law following a pursuit in the Southern Highlands this afternoon. About 4.45pm, Mittagong Highway Patrol officers conducting speed checks on the Hume Highway at Berrima detected a green Mitsubishi travelling south at an alleged speed of 139km/h in a 110km/h zone. When police caught up with the vehicle, it failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated over a distance of 60 km and reaching speeds of 160 km/h. It will be alleged that at one stage, the pursuit entered an 80km/h work zone, with the offender driving through it at 135 km/h. Police sought authorisation to use road spikes in an attempt to stop to vehicle. These were successfully deployed about 10 km north of Goulburn. The sole occupant of the vehicle, a 36-year-old woman from Queensland, was arrested. She is currently being assessed in hospital, after which she is expected to be charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously (section 51B Crime Act Skye’s Law), exceed speed and drive speed dangerous.

There's one in the latest Repco catalogue for $299 (save $200 apparently) It's called a "DIY Drive Incident Recorder" and it mounts on the top of the windscreen and has 2 cameras to record forward facing and also in the cabin/through the back window. Also has a G force sensor and GPS tracking.
