haha yeah that might have been good... I'm a tool But srsly, the first grindy noise really pointed towards the starter motor, and the battery's only a year and a bit old? It just didn't seem like that... Maybe it's both lol

I won't be home till late cos of stupid buses but Pat just SMS'd to say he's left me a jumper pack anyway so I will attempt it. If this whole saga's just a stupid dead battery I'm gonna be pissed!

hrmm so I went to open it with the remote to get something out, and it wouldn't unlock. Bit of a tick like it was trying, but not enough power. If it was the starter motor that wouldn't be happening right?

Thanks heaps yeh it's frustrating when you just want to get it fixed but you don't have the knowledge! It's my only mode of transport and it's killing me

Well the battery isn't *that* old and I've had batteries die before in my old R33 and this is different. I really don't know with the earthing and stuff See my post on the previous page.... but yeah it was, but not anymore (stopped on the weekend)

James I actually did think about the alarm too, as another possibility.. maybe the immobiliser not letting fuel through or something.. But I think the starter motor is more likely.

Maybe Friday if you don't plan on hitting the pub? It's my day off so I'll be there all day

It's been on it's way out for weeks but would come and go. It would grind (like when you turn the key too far when the engine's already on). Then it started getting worse and would sound like it's trying but not actually start (like you'd run out of petrol). A few goes and it would get there eventually. Again, it would come and go, sometimes it would start without an issue. On the weekend it died completely, there's nothing at all, not even a tick tick like you get with a flat battery. I think you might be right

I need an Auto Electrician...one that will come to you, as my car won't start to take it anywhere. I'm assuming it's the starter motor as it's been having issues for a while and from talking to people it seems the most likely cause, but before I go and buy one it'd be good to get a quick diagnosis from a professional. If anyone knows someone, that would be great

Hahaha don't stress.. I did it in an almost 20 year old stock R33... changed the brake pads/oil/filter, and chucked on a friends semi slicks. Nothing broke, all was good When you get there, just claim a garage (well, carport) and wait for announcements. They'll tell you when to head over for scrutineering etc

Seats were allocated.... f**king hilarious when there was hardly anyone in the theatre lol. We took the back row cos we're cool. Thanks to everyone that came, movie was actually GOOD (HOLY CRAP!!!) I'm sure the word is out by now, but if you haven't seen it make sure you stay for the credits!!
