  1. hey guys, i currently have all the stock gear on my R32 GTS-T and am looking to upgrade a few itmes. i'd like to know what ur thoughts are on the Just Jap GTR replacement tube & fin intercooler they offer. http://www.justjap.com/parts_nintercoolers.htm

  3. yep, they have different compressor wheels and the exhaust housings have different flanges.
  4. oohhhh farrkkkk, now i gotta go and change my pants
  5. do u have a boost controller connected up? if so, take it off and connect the hose directly from the compressor housing to the actuator.
  6. hey guys, i've been around on the forums for while but i am not a SAU member as yet and wouldn't mind coming along to this PI meet, so i have a few questions. how long would it take to get the membership & CAMS license approved? this would be my first track experience, would i be allowed to attend at PI? also, can u bring any car or do u nominate a specific car in the membership forms?

you could also give P.E.T Modifications (Dennis) a call on 9464-4225. they are well known for their great work on all RB engines.
  8. Dale, they are awesome results you have there, well done. looks like all that R&D really paid off giving you a nice responsive & efficient combination. it should feel even nicer when you get rid of that mid-range dip and raise the boost to 15-16psi. this looks like the ideal combo for my R32 RB20DET, although i wonder how much improvement there would be by using the HKS T3 exhaust housing from the GT2530 instead of the RB25 housing. keep up the good work and well done once again.

Gday aaron, welcome to SAU, and finally another cossie owner i can mingle with and talk about 'REAL' cars fyi, Paul was the guy i was gonna recommend to you. how are you finding his work? it sounds like both cars have mild setups, with plenty of potential for more especially the RS500. i'm in the northern suburbs of melbourne, we should catch up some time.

Ash, by your avatar, it seems that you'll be the one blowing your load ;-) Cossie Aaron, fyi, i am Gorjan and i own a Sierra Cosworth RS500. Who's doing the compliancing for the RS500? if you need someone, i can give you a number. Nice cars btw, the RS500 looks very toight. what's done to both cars?
  11. have you checked that your actuators are set correctly? you could be getting boost creep which is making it feel sluggish down low due to the wastegate flapper opening too early.
  12. you could also look at only buying the Garrett GT28RS core and get your GT2510 turbine housing profiled for the larger turbine wheel. Also, they share the same compressor wheel so compressor housing does not need to be touched
  13. hey dude, as everyone else has mentioned already, the Garrett GT30R (with A/R .82 exhaust housing) will give the power you need while being usable and not too aggressive but it won't happen at 16psi, maybe closer to 21-22psi. although, if you are building a good engine (rb26 crank, rods, forgies, etc), why are you aiming to run lower boost when the engine could comfortably handle the higher boost required? also, if it is imperative that you run lower boost, you can look at increasing the volumetric efficiency of the engine by running higher compression than standard (~9.0:1), head porting along with decent sized cams. these 3 things alone will create the power you require and at lower boost. one more thing, the TD06-25G sitting in my garage would work quite nicely with this engine and your current manifold, etc
  14. no probs. btw, you shouldn't have a problem fitting the 6-piston calipers in a 17" wheel as Wilwood have a brake kit for the sierra cossie with 6-piston calipers, 323mm rotors and they fit inside 17's.

  16. this might be of some help http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-catalogu...36_rb20det.html
  17. dude, that doesn't look like the standard rb20 turbo. if you look closely it actually looks like the 9-blade turbine which is found in the HKS 2530. you might want to check the id-plate on the centre core.
  18. h2k, if you're after a cheaper option regarding pistons, this could interest u. http://www.aclperformance.com.au/NissanRB2...rgedPistons.htm i'm not too sure but apparently, their forged pistons are made by ROSS, although i find that strange given that ACL are owned by Mahle. btw, they also make oversized pistons. good luck
  19. those definitely were the days of motor racing. i always loved how the sierra's would pull away from the GTR's up mountain and down conrod straight it was a totally different story up on the mountain though all in all, the cossies did very well for under tyred, RWD, 2L turbos.
  20. hey disco, where did u find a Garrett GT3071R "wg" with a 52 trim comp wheel? everywhere i've looked, i've only seen the 56 trim comp wheel being associated with the GT3071R. also, wouldn't the 90 trim turbine wheel work better with the large 56/52 trim GT35 comp wheel as compared to the 84 trim?
  21. Roy, if using the hydraulic lifters (lash type), i don't think you can go higher than 8.5mm lift, and duration up to 270 degrees in the PROCAM and 256 in the PONCAM, according to Tomei. if running solids, you can go as high as 10.25mm , with but other mods will be required. hhmmm, i have a mildly ported rb20 head with modified cams sitting at home, now i am tempted and then i can fit up the TD06-25G that's also sitting in my garage
  22. these two threads should be able to answer all of your questions, so start reading ;-) "Rb20 Turbo Upgrade, All Dyno Results" http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=103095 "Top RB20 Club... do you have over 260rwkw?" http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=58229
  23. no updates i guess.
  24. the silver bullet lives on after hibernation ;-) good stuff dude, good to see the car is back in action again. i'm dying to see it in anger.
  25. hey dale, i've been following this upgrade path of yours and noticed that there haven't been any updates since your last one. how did u go, have u managed to tune the engine with more boost? the reason i ask is b/c i am considering this same combination for my R32 GTS-T (RB20DET). i look forward to your updated info.
