  1. same as the ford sierra cosworth :headspin:
  2. as above, maybe have a look at your coolant temp along with the oxygen sensor.
  3. dude, you (or the business/race team) need to have an income of atleast $20k to be able to claim expenses/deductions.
  4. sounds good, but at the same time, your business is seen as a separate entity, in which u will need to show the ATO that it has an income.
  5. what boost level are you planning on running with this setup? what kind of power are you really after? i don't know about the other guys, but i don't think you'll see fullboost (i.e., ~15psi +) at 3300rpm with your RB26/GT35 (A/R .82). if you're after fullboost at that kind of rpm and you want it to be streetable with plenty of poke, i'd recommend you go for a Garrett GT30R with A/R .82 exhuast housing. it will be very streetable and still make a peak power of 300rwkw with ease, with a very good average power in the usable rpm range.
  6. better off, if u can speak japanese, or know someone that does, call Nissan in Japan.
  7. P.E.T Modifications are in thomastown and have built plenty of tough and big hp Nissan engines (VLs, Skylines, GTRs, etc). Give dennis a call on 9464 4225 and tell him Gorjan (RS500) referred you.
  8. hey there dude, regarding your engine, CR, timing etc, running higher compression is obviously better as it brings better turbo & engine response which makes the car feel better to drive down low. why don't u keep the engine as it is, and run higher octane fuel (i.e., elf turbo max). this will allow you to have the best of both worlds, a high compression engine, running high boost and more ignition timing advance. if i ever rebuild my engine again, i'll definitely go this way, but then again i have forgies ;-) Also, how do u find the GT30R with A/R .82 exhaust housing, does it feel laggy/doughy?
  9. hi SK, i have a question regarding your response above given that you've had experience with engines like mine, what are your thoughts on the YBD Sierra Cosworth engines? the reason i ask is b/c i am looking installing different spec cams in my engine in the near future, as to gain more power/torque in the mid-high rpm range with less/same boost. also, i would like to know what your recommendations are regarding cam specs for my engine (street & soon circuit/track car). thanks in advance.
  10. for prospective buyers; http://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/turbo/...c_gt/ac_gt.html
  11. that doesn't help any.
  12. is there an id plate on the centre core? if so, what's the part number?
  13. dude, is that the case for any/all auto performance parts that come from the U.S?
  14. which site did u go to dude? i usually go to either of these below for all HKS references; http://www.hksusa.com or http://www.hks-power.co.jp
  15. dude, in my experience with a Garrett GT3040R (ARB exhaust housing), i would recommend u get rid of it as it poses a great restriction to the flow of the turbo's gasses. i would recommend using a genuine GT exhaust housing which was designed for the flow and dynamics of the GT35R exhaust wheel. the reason i say this is b/c when i had my A/R .82 ARB housing on my turbo (as above), i couldn't make any decent power, even at 20psi, and the back pressure was high (almost 2:1), whereas with the genuine GT A/R .63 housing, we saw the back pressure drop dramatically (almost 1:1) and power picked up noticably. it's only my opinion, but yeah it's based on my own experience.
  16. hey guys, sorry i haven't had time to get pics up. hopefully over the weekend. wog, my quoted price is the best price which is very good for both items.
  17. MasTers, sorry, i've been a little busy and haven't got round to the pics as yet. hopefully monday. Shane, yes it's a genuine Garrett Dual ball-bearing GT3040R. on my engine (2L sierra cosworth), i had 14psi by about 4200rpm. power wise, i'm not too sure to be honest as we never did a proper power tune/run on 14psi. It would've been making around 180-190rwkw, although it really woke up when we tuned it at 24psi for MAS last year.
  18. bigcarl, i believe that when a turbo is in it's highest efficiency island and that there is no exhaust restriction, the power increase per psi should be about ~10rwhp (7rwkw), so you should be making a bit more power on 20psi. which GT30 core is it and what exhaust housing r u running?
  19. gday all, i am selling both items below which were both bought brand new from P.E.T Modifications a little over 1 year ago. Reason is i am in the market for buying a house and possibly a 2nd car so i need to free up some money and have a short break from the car. * Garrett GT3040R (700177-0014 : 600hp core with A/R .63 exhaust housing) fyi, this turbo runs the genuine garrett gt40 compressor wheel as found in the 700hp GT35R, although with the smaller GT30 turbine wheel as in the HKS GT3037S) * 45mm Turbosmart external wastegate (self explanatory) these two items have only been run about 5-6000kms given that i constantly travel overseas for work and i got married last year where i was away for 2 months on my honeymoon. Also, my work is only 8kms away from home, so yeah it's a short drive. the turbo has almost always been run on ~14psi since fitting as i don't have big enough injectors & fuel pump to support high boost. only once when i leant some larger injectors from dennis at P.E.T Mods (was trying to tune car for dyno shootout at MAS last year - although the car never went on), we pushed it up to 24psi where my car (Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500) made ~280rwkw on PULP. After MAS i had to give the injectors back as he needed them for his own car, which meant the stock ones went back in and boost went back down to 14psi where it's been ever since. Price (Garrett GT3040R) = $1600 Price (45mm turbosmart wastegate) = $600 or $2100 as a package. this package would be ideal for anyone that wants to build a big hp street 4 cyl 2L or RB20/25/30, etc. fyi, these items are still in my car so for anyone that's interested and in melbourne, you can hear them running for yourself. i'll try and organise some pics soon so if interested, please reply here or PM me. thanks for looking.
  20. as there is a different vacuum reading with the larger turbos, the bov's behave differently which will cause this stalling on idle after acceleration. try plumbing them back or removing them as to confirm this as being the problem.
  21. i've never used or heard about the turboXs wastegates, but i do know that the tial w/gates are awesome. can i ask how much you'll be paying for the 38mm tial gate? (PM me)
  22. hey dude, just wondering, do u feel that the GT30R is laggy on the street with the A/R .82 exhaust housing? when do u roughly get full boost?
  23. fyi, these are a good quality forged piston which are a factory item in the Ford Sierra Cosworths ;-)
